We had a wonderful experience with the Holiday team during our trip through The Gates of Lodore…read more Our guide team was led by Drake and included Brian, Annie and Jimmy. Each of them were incredibly kind, informative, and very fun to be around. Their coordination of the trip was beyond exceptional. Their knowledge and passion for the area was inspiring. We all learned so much about the history of the canyons. Thank you to our guide team for an unbelievable trip.

I will absolutely be using Holiday River Expeditions on my next trip! The guides were all very willing to answer any questions I had and were very willing to accommodate needs. Our guides were happy to give facts about the river and were willing to teach us a bit about the canyon geography and wildlife. The first two days are pretty mild, with the last day having some great rapids! The guides made sure we still had a great time on the calm days. You will see some of the most beautiful nature views while the guides row you down the river. All I had to do was set up my tent and sleeping bag at camp, the guides would do the rest. The food was delicious! While you enjoy free time at the beach, each meal was prepared and served by the guides. Having a rain fly was great because it sprinkled a little bit both nights. Water shoes, tennis shoes that will get wet, or sandals with straps is pretty important to have on this trip. Each camp we stopped at had a little hill to go up and down from the beach, which gave elevated view of the beautiful canyon. I am already looking forward to my next river adventure!

If you're looking for the perfect winter adventure in Utah, Rocky Mountain Outfitters in Midway…read moreabsolutely delivers a magical, unforgettable experience -- especially during the Christmas season. From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel completely welcomed. They're friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their horses and the beautiful area they work in. The seasonal horseback rides are incredible. Early in the season, you ride through the charming town of Midway, surrounded by snowy fields and mountain views that look like a Christmas postcard. Later in the season, the rides move up to Soldier Hollow, where the scenery becomes even more breathtaking -- open meadows, Olympic-era trails, and the Wasatch Mountains glowing in the winter light. The horses are gentle, well-trained, and perfect for beginners and experienced riders alike. But the true holiday magic comes from their draft horse wagon rides. Being pulled by beautiful Percheron and Belgian horses through thousands of sparkling Christmas lights at the Wasatch Mountain Golf Course is absolutely enchanting. The sleigh bells, the crisp winter air, the glow of the lights -- it feels straight out of a movie. Rocky Mountain Outfitters is a must-do winter tradition. Five stars without hesitation! My husband and I just returned from a fantastic 8 day motorized raft trip down the Colorado River…read more(Lee's Ferry to Whitmore Wash) in the Grand Canyon, guided by an outstanding team from CRATE. If you have the opportunity to book a trip with CRATE, don't hesitate! Pulling off these trips requires intense knowledge, skill, and coordination, and in all of these ways, CRATE delivered. Good equipment, hearty, plentiful food (and snacks!) and a crew who thoroughly understood the historical, natural, and geological aspects of where we were. This interpretation, intertwined with great river stories, really brought the Canyon to life.

Having very recently returned from an eight-day motorized rafting and hiking trip through the Grand…read moreCanyon with Colorado River and Trail Expeditions (CRATE), I can recommend them for your Grand Canyon adventure without hesitation or qualification. The boatsmen, Walker and Abel, and their capable assistants Pheobe and Matt, guided us with consummate expertise through the many thrilling rapids and on daily hikes of varying lengths, and their knowledge of the local history, geology, archaeology, flora, and fauna, freely shared with us all, was admirable. The food was delicious and plentiful - even for this hardcore vegetarian - and CRATE seamlessly provided for all the logistics, including the rafting and hiking, our helicopter transport from the depths of the canyon, and the flight back toward Las Vegas on smaller prop planes. All in all, CRATE provided an extraordinary experience through a truly extraordinary landscape. A few caveats: this trip does require some physical exertion, as one was expected to help pack and unpack the rafts, as well as set up one's camps (which, in fact, was a great part of the fun and group-experience). Having said that, one of our trip members suffered some unexpected moderate physical limitations throughout the trip, and the crew capably and compassionately assisted him and guided him, without detracting their attentions from the rest of the group. Also, some of the hikes were more rigorous and offered more exposure than necessarily advertised by the crew; however, it was easy enough to avoid any hikes, or portions of hikes, that one felt was beyond one's capacity. All in all, one of the most memorable, awe-inspiring, and eye- and mind-opening trips I've done in my seven decades!
