Ok, frankly I'm surprised that nowhere here do I see mentioned what seems to be an obvious, huge flaming YES for this place: The beer list is rivaled by only ONE other historic bar in Ann Arbor, and that other bar is Ashley's. That's kind of huge. As soon as Founders released its Watermelon Sea Salt gose beer, Green Zebra? This place had it. They have a delightful method of rotating beers from certain breweries, which can keep things interesting. The Right Brain CEO stout, the most caffeinated espresso stout I have ever tasted (seriously, in lieu of straight coffee, I will drink it and the effect is the same except you also become slightly drunk/it has an analgesic effect) was here. It was rotated out for a different coffee stout the next day but the bartender recommended this delicious, frothy, melt-against-your-mouth ale that tastes like peanut butter, has a chocolate mouth-feel (did I say that the right way, idk, it's incredible) and is 10% ABV and comes in a 10 oz tulip glass per regulations due to its high ABV. I'd asked about the CEO stout assuming they probably wouldn't have it, because I've never been to a bar with CEO stout, and I could not believe they had it until there it was. They have a nice cocktail list and wine selection. Anyway, I've also had the beet salad, which I thought to be thoughtfully and adequately prepared. Got to love beets, kale, and vinaigrette. What I really wanted to say here, though, is that it's about time the North Side of Ann Arbor had a place like this. We haven't even had a neighborhood bar for well over two decades (about the extent of my lifespan, because yes I grew up here), unless you count Guy Hollerin's but my friends, that is inside of a hotel and is a solid drive down Plymouth from where people actually live so that doesn't count. I love going here every Saturday. Very nice staff! I love porters and stouts..any dark beer really. which they have soooo many options for. It's a convenient bar away from the downtown scene and is full of happy people. always get excellent service and have never had to wait too long to get a beer. I love the atmosphere. read more

We went in for lunch. The burger was good. The fries were plentiful and tasty. They had a large variety of beer at a reasonable price. I didn't like the ambiance. The bare light bulbs gave off an awful glare and made me want to hurry up my meal and leave. The other disappointing part of the experience was the all the hard surfaces which made the noise level uncomfortably high. To top it off, the tables were long and narrow with bench seating. Not pleasant for most people who want to talk to people across from them and not down at the end of a long table. There is no table service. The food came out at different times for members of our party. Maybe with time things will improve. read more

Rappourt has a great variety of beers, their food is fresh, delicious, and everything is fairly priced. North A2 really needs a place like this, away from the students and for young professionals. We come here for the burgers. They are a hit for everyone. Good flavor, cooked to the right amount, with a toasted bun. The fries are good to, although a tad on the greasy side. And while I'm not a real beer fan, my wife enjoys a glass from the wide selection. If bringing kids, don't come in the evening. It's too much of a bar. read more

Like having this new option in the "Plymouth Mall" and hope they continue to succeed. Have a wide selection of beers and not ALL are IPAs - there are some other options including stouts and porters. Menu has some excellent options and some that could use some tweaking. The grape tomatoes on the burger are very tasty, but not the easiest addition to the burger to eat without them falling off and the bun falls apart too easily because of it. The carbonara is wonderful, but a bit small on size. The tomato soup is tangy and rustic in the best way. Crispy Brussels sprouts are well seasoned but a bit too under cooked. Place gets crazy busy on weekend nights so be prepared to wait - wait to find a seat and even longer for food. Not sure how often the menu changes, but I do think it wouldn't take much to improve on the paper menus that have been folded, spilled on, curled up, etc. read more

My experience at Rappourt was beyond unsatisfactory! Not only was the service pour but so was the food. For the prices charged for my burger i expected something better then Mcdonalds, and beyond that the gnats greeted me before the staff did. I admit there is a nice wine selection but it doesn't mean much with no one to serve it. read more

One thing I cannot stand at brew pub or bar is waiting for service at the bar. You go to a place like this to buy beer and maybe a lunch, that is - spend money. Why would a bartender ignore a customer AT THE BAR for 5-10 minutes ?! Their job is to poor foam and get paid to do it. read more

Very crowded, (Friday after 7p) counter ordering, though servers bring food and clear dishes. The beer selection was good but the descriptions were limited to symbols (a leaf meant malty, a citrus meant bright etc). It was loud and customers sit at the bar or at long tables elbow-to elbow with strangers. So, as long as you aren't expecting the regular anonymity of other restaurants and don't expect fabulous apps and entrees, this place is nicely satifying. read more

Food is pretty good, beer is better. Not a fan of the ordering set up as when it's crowded you end up standing an an awkward group or line by the door. Also the TV menus don't match the rest of the place and are too small. Larger chalk board would fit with the rest of the place and match the wine chalk board behind the bar. I really, really wanted to love this place, but I'd have to say it was just on the high side of ok. We've longed for a place like this in our neighborhood, so on that basis alone it gets 4 stars. I did love the ambience, and the service was very friendly. I'm not a big fan of having to order at the counter though, and I would have been downright annoyed if we had gone at a busy time. The beer and wine selection seems good, but as I'm not a drinker, this is a food review. The three of us had poutine, the BLT with a salad, a choose your own burger, and the angel hair carbonara. Poutine: The poutine, while clearly good quality and tasty ingredients, was a big disappointment because there was barely a coating of gravy on the bottom of the dish with none over the fries, and about 4 tiny cheese curds. It looked nothing like some of the pictures I've seen on this site, so maybe we were just short changed for some reason... BLT: Again, clearly high quality ingredients, but the bacon was flabby and soft and the lime aioli just didn't match well with the rest of the ingredients. But most importantly, the thick ciabatta it was served on was just way, way too much bread for a BLT - I could hardly taste the inside of the sandwich with that much breading. The accompanying salad was quite good, very fresh ingredients, the roasted cherry tomatoes were fantastic, and the homemade ranch dressing was delicious (ranch lovers note - it was nothing like the usual ranch dressing, more of a lime cream sauce). Carbonara: This had a very tasty sauce, and the noodles were not too overcooked, but my complaint here is that the pancetta chunks were numerous and very fatty. That may be how they eat it in Italy, but most people here do not like to eat chunks of fat. Also, it was more of an alfredo than a carbonara, but that did not bother us. Burger: My husband said it was "ok", but nothing special. Oh, and they name, that really needs to change. EDIT Originally 4 stars, lowered to 3 stars. I've given the food three chances and it's disappointed every time. This time I got the green chicken enchiladas and they were VERY weird, really an unpleasant combination of flavors, and most importantly to me, lukewarm (as were my other two meals here). read more

Food was good and I'd come back. Had a cheeseburger with salad and poutine. The burger came with cherry tomatoes that were sweet and a nice change. The fries in the poutine were thick and crunchy while the gravy tasted flavorful. However, the amount of cheese curds were lacking. As somebody who grew up in Toronto with poutine, they'll need to triple the amount of cheese to elicit childhood memories from this Canadian. read more

stopped in on a Friday night and were able to grab one of the last free tables despite how crowded it was. Not a fan of the group seating, but that seems to be the default for most breweries now, forcing us to be social instead of just hanging out with friends. A decent beer selection, I give them extra points for having the woot stout on tap, one of my all time favorite beers and it shows they at least know craft beer and don't just serve whatever they can like some places. We tried a variety of food and a lot of it was hit and miss. Truffle fries were not that good, served with ketchup also so you can take a pass on that. They had three different kinds of wings but the only good ones had an Asian glaze I cant recall. Good burgers as well, I would probably just stick to a burger next time. They don't give you plates for sharing appetizers and napkins are not easily accessible but they are new and still finding their niche. They did have some really good bottled beer available for purchase, easy to miss with all the taps they have. I'm also not big on the location being in a strip mall but they did a really good job of fixing up the interior so its worth a trip. read more

Crummy experience. Got there at 10:00 on a Thursday night. Cold atmosphere. Aloof waitstaff. Asked for a menu and was told the kitchen just closed. We were starving and didn't want to drink beer on an empty stomach. Asked if they had anything at all. Guy offered to bring us chips and salsa. Ok great. 5 minutes later he said they're out of chip and salsa. So we drank our beers and left. My husband cheerfully commented that they should carry pretzels or something, anything. Great selection of craft beer. I like that they use Untappd, and that they update it on-time. The bar food is a little above average for a bar, but it's also a little expensive.
