The Full House Restaurant has been a fixture on Ypsilanti's East Side since 1973. Just off Business US-12 (Michigan Ave.) on M-17 (Ecorse Road) They've been famous for their burgers and other items for decades. Always a local favorite in the community, this place is like going back in time, when a burger was something you could easily relate to as being just that, a honest to goodness cheeseburger, not a trendy gourmet burger that will hit your pocketbook where it hurts, which is so tall that a long knife is stabbed right through the center of it to hold it together. The food that is served at the Full House, is akin to enjoying a homecooked cheeseburger like your mother or father made at a backyard cookout in the 1980s. It's nothing fancy, but sure tastes great and you leave feeling full, especially, if you order a combo meal, which I strongly recommend. The best part is the chefs at the Full House will cook your burger, or any other entrée the way you want it done. While it's been a few decades since I had an ACE Burger, they do offer a Sirloin Steak sandwich, and a Cheesesteak Hoagie that use top grade beef all the way. However, for those of you who are more health conscious, you can order a delicious made to order, or even some tasty shrimp. We love coming to Full House, great place to stop for lunch or dinner! The food is always excellent and served fresh and hot, I like to get the "3 dueces combo" the menu items have a lot of card game references. Service is great, the waitstaff are always very friendly and attentive. Plus the owner will occasionally make rounds and check in on everyone dining. This place has been here a long time. There must be a reason it's still operating. Outside seems ok but not spectacular, inside neat and clean and feeling it's age. Employees are always friendly and pretty prompt. We never been handed a wrong order or something that is cold. It's a classic bar restaurant. Food was good and portion sizes adequate. We took our grandkids here so it's no low life hangout. Overall a pleasant experience. Would I recommend you eat here - yes. Don't expect the Rattlesnake club but a clean friendly neighborhood place you can take the kids. read more

I am not opposed to a dive, hell I love a great dive. Well, I will modify that, I love a good dive with great food and cheap prices. My old boss went on and on about this place like it was the holy grail of burgers, "Get the Ace she would say, you will LOVE it, best burger EVAH" (no I did not work for Oprah but my boss sounded a lot like her, on purpose I think). Meh. This place is seriously overhyped. The burger is decent but nada special, an Ace is a 1/2 lb with lettuce, tomato, mayo and grilled onions. The side accompaniments are nothing to write home about and are billed separately, Brittney is right the *deals* are no deal but rather just adding up what they charge ala carte so you don't have to tax your brain with the math. The service is highly lackluster. The prices are not terrific unless I missed something on my visit. The beer selection? Great if you like low end American pilsners. Me? Not so much. Other than the *famous* burgers, his place features mostly fried freezer specials of all varietals, generic hot dogs, romaine based simple salads and sandwiches you could easily make at home cheaper. The one item that stood out for me was the bean soup, loaded with ham and by far the tastiest item I had there. It's alright, it's just not for me. read more

Ordinarily I have glowing reviews for this place, tonight will not be the case. The waitress seemed half stoned and completely uninterested in waiting on all 2 of her tables. We had to beg for some silverware, we were never once asked if we needed refills on our drinks. She didn't even bring us our food, another waitress did it! We had to have another staff member go track our bill down too... As we drove away, we could see her standing in the window giving us the stink eye for not leaving her a tip. But frankly all she did was write down our order. The rest of the time she just ambled around the building looking lost, or stoned.... sigh. read more

This is one of our go to places to eat in Ypsilanti. They have great burgers and fries and their coleslaw and bean soup is to die for!! We actually have them make up half a gallon of coleslaw and a gallon of being soup for our Thanksgiving dinner every year!! It is a big thumbs up from those eating it!! read more

This place is a dive. The service is sometimes poor. The patrons are less than desirable. But man, the burgers hit the spot! This is a local gem. Maybe you have to live here to realize this. The deuce burgers with cheese are where it's at. Order 3 or 4 of those with steak fries. They also serve beer, have many TV's, and offer keno. I can't decide if the decor is inspired by a sports bar, a Moose lodge, or a trailer park clubhouse. OMG do I LOVE the full house!! I have been coming here ever since I can remember. My dad used to work here so it was always cool when him and the owner would chat. The burgers are unique and awesome. Cool hang out spot. I love that it's a restaurant indigenous to Ypsilanti. I like to go here to support my hometown :) The only thing I don't like is that the "combo" meals aren't actually a special or at a "special" price like the menu states. They are just the totals of the burger, fries, and pop added together.... I feel like that's shady business. The other thing I dislike is the price of appetizers. I know it's a small business and that it has to have higher prices to break even. BUT charging $5.95 for ~8 deep fried mushrooms is just way too much in my book. read more

This place looks like a promising dive when you pull up. They have a giant picture of a hamburger on the sign outside. Not a graphic , but an actual giant photo. You walk in to this dive and are seated. The waitress brings our drinks and takes about 20 minutes to come back. Normally, not a big deal, but we were one of 2 tables in the place. I get the signature burger for this place the "Ace Burger" ordered medium. The burger came on a super cheap bun and it was decent but highly over-rated from what my friends who brought me here were saying. The rest of the menu looked very bar foodish and very generic and blah. At least you can have a good cold beer right? wrong. Cold yes, good not so much. They luckily had newcastle in a bottle but on tap all they had to offer were 2 brews. Miller Light (puke) and labatts. I will probably not be returning here. read more

A friend of ours that has lived in Ypsi their whole life recommended this place. His exact words were its a dive with good cheap food and cold beer. My husband and I drove over to the restaurant and yes it is a dive from the outside and the inside had old decor but the tables were clean so we figured we should give it a try. I am glad we did because since going for the first time 6 months ago we have been back a half dozen times. We usually will order an appetizer and a pitcher of cold Miller Lite. ( the pitcher only costs 5 bucks and it was a Saturday night!) We got the fried mozzarella and they were fine. Hot and came with extra sauce. We both order Cheese Burgers and split and order of fries. The burgers are good and cooked just fine. We can usually eat for around 20 bucks and that's with beer! Too many TV screens and slot machines (or whatever they are), but otherwise I don't have a problem. Unpretentious place, cause the customers are not composed of 100% liberals (as is the case in just about all of Ann Arbor). It's right next to an animal hospital, so sometimes you can spot the cats lounging in the sun (cute!). Service is good -- not obtrusive, but also you are not completely ignored. Fish fry is not as good as Banfield's, but not bad, either. Female toilet is clean. One time, I got sick from ordering the sirloin burger, but that's the only time I've had something go wrong here. read more

Nothing flashy here, but a comfortable, clean space, cheap beer, good food (a cut above what you'd expect for the price -- $4-6), and fast, friendly service. Been going to Full House off and on for several years. No it's not the Ritz, but for a neighborhood restaurant serving what it does it's very good. Not sure about the poor service comments, I've always had nothing but great service. Servers are friendly and come by quickly for the initial order and swing by to refill the drinks without asking. Burgers and onion rings (my standard) are always cooked well, served hot, and tasty. Prices are reasonable. read more

Ok don't know what crawled up those two other reviewers butts but Full House is most definitely a good little bar and their burgers are almost the best in Ypsi (Roy's is just slighty better imo). Anyway yes, Full House is a dive bar, so you don't go there expecting to get good service or even find a good atmosphere full of smiling faces, IT'S A DIVE BAR duhh. The main reason one goes to the Full House is to get their tasty burger and have a cheap domestic beer or two and in that regard they are excellent. Yes the decour is a bit outdated and kind of dingy, and the people that work there and the regulars are some salty looking mofo's, but seriously you will not find a better burger in Ypsi outside of Roy's. Do yourself a favor and try the Full House it really is worth the trip! And do not be afraid to go there the neighborhood is "urban", but it is not some ghetto hood with gangbangers and shootouts. "The Only Burger in Town" is the sign that greets you upon walking. I dont know if that's an indication of how good or how bad the burgers are. After having three sliders with steak fries (3 Deuces). I've eaten more hamburgers than I care to admit, and I would have to give this one a 3 out of 10. Way to thin......but if you are going to do thin, it has to be a quality choice of beef or combination of selections of beef. The steak fries was cooked perfectly. The Full House is a local favorite, and if you have that undeniable craving for a burger.....its the place for you. My overall experience was 6 out of 10. read more
