The instructors are great, they know a lot about what they are teaching and they have a passion for it. The instructors also participate in the work out, which I admire. Once you've taken one spin or boxing class from Escape, your regular gym spin classes will be boring enough to put you to sleep. Escape uses blacklights because they believe fitness is about how you feel, not how you look. With loud music, high energy, great instructors, you'll finish your workout feeling stronger and more pumped up than ever. Memberships are a little out of my price range but drop in classes every few weeks are totally reasonable. I'll always be a fan of Escape and its unique workout experience.

There are spin classes during the week, and yoga and a YAS (yoga and spin) class on Saturday and Sunday. I love that there is variety between all the different instructors as well as so many options to choose classes throughout the day (I recently noticed that there is now a 9am class on Wednesday! I'll be heading straight there after dropping off the grandkids at school). The teachers are all very knowledgeable when it comes to the why and how of spin and riding, they know how to put together some GREAT playlists, and the atmosphere they create with their upbeat energy is always contagious. You'd have to really try to NOT have a good time here. The lights and dark room make you feel like you're in a club rather than a gym/studio. With summer right around the corner I was a little worried about burning up in this place, but with all the new upgrades the owner has put into the studio I think we'll be juuuuuuuust fine!--they have 4 high powered fans that they turn on via remote and bring down the temp in the room significantly. The cleanliness of the studio is top notch and a top priority here. In between every class the teachers wipe off every single bike that was used and put down a clean towel for the next person coming in. Everything here runs like clockwork. Instead of a great view of High Desert and the Eastern Sierras in Gardnerville, I was treated to an Alpine environment and a bit of a Lake View. The folks at the front desk were welcoming and knowing that this was not my home Douglas County gym, gave me the key bathroom and exercise machines directions with a smile. I like Garnerville better as the machines are newer and there's more room. The equipment is also better spaced and more conducive to occasional conversation and moving around. At the same time, I found what I needed here at Kahle, made the necessary weight adjustments, and had a fine workout. I even stayed a little longer to try out some of the variations and have a nice chat with a guy in a t.u. shirt. Kahle remains a good choice if I happen to be in the neighborhood. And now that I know my way around this building better, it will be easier to make the effort and show up.
