Second review here and honestly, if you wanna gift you and your family a holiday present- a board and train season with Zoe and her team is probably the best and most rewarding gift for you and your relationship with your furry friend. I pride myself in having benefitted from training tips and a serious study into how to be a good trainer/leader for the crazy pup but there was only so much I could be consistent and reinforce by myself I called Kopi my B+ girl. Zoe really helped us take her to an A class dog. She knew us through the years and this is a crazy 30lb pup who understood a lot, knew lots of tricks, very eager to train for food but just genetically had impulses that were hard to manage. I have a broken crooked finger (due to my lack of attention and her exuberant force) to prove it. We were embarrassed by her but didn't want to force her into submission as she's really a lovable pup. We have two kids in our family and having a dog that would we would coexist happily with is so important. The investment and trust we put in Zoe really paid off. I've interviewed many other trainers and have taken her to many other consultations and evaluations with other organizations and no one has been able to crack Kopi's code like Zoe. And Zoe wants us to succeed and make this a lifetime journey. It's taken me months to write this because I wanted to feel assured that the training instilled gets passed on to us and Zoe helped us reinforce it after the B&T and now we have a pup who has a great life off leash and also is able to hike with us on a loose leash and minimal corrections and reactivity. Many others have tried to help but nobody transformed our rescued mutt to this more relaxed pup like Zoe/Rascal. To understand the magic and confidence of a talented and committed trainer like Zoe, you have to meet her and see for yourself!

After getting our second puppy after only having the first one for a year we were in over our heads. We made the decision to board and train our dogs with Rascal Training. If you are considering training your dogs in the Portland area, DO IT. Zoe and the other trainers at Rascal are truly amazing. They loved our dogs as their own, taught them a ridiculous amount of things and offer follow up trainings with the dog owners after the board and train is complete which is invaluable. We did the 4 week board and train. Just to name the biggest changes in our pups: - down, here, wait, shh, sit, go to bed, uh ahh (commands) - loose leash walking - off leash walking - recall (which was VERY huge for us) - crate trained I can't even type out how much this has changed our lives for the better. Dogs are happier and so are we. Zoe has answered every question we have had, which has been a LOT. She is super kind, patient, and professional. We have had our dogs go to walk and train sessions as follow ups and find those very useful as well. I cannot say enough praise for Zoe and Rascal Training! Check out my Ig for updates on our dogs @allthingsnicolemay and check out Zoe on Ig too! That's why we chose to go with Rascal! @rascaltraining

We are so grateful for Zoe and her team at Rascal! We have two dogs, each with unique and frustrating behavioral issues that made it difficult to do much of anything. We couldn't take walks in the neighborhood or watch TV. We always had to have white noise on loudly in the house because they were so reactive to any noises. We'd tried training on our own and with one on one sessions with other trainers. We never managed to get anything to stick. Doing a 6 week board and train with Rascal was the best decision we could have made! Zoe is very response and accommodating. You can tell she genuinely cares about every dog in her care and she posts updates regularly, so you can keep up with your pup's progress! Our go home sessions were super informative and helped get us set up for success at home. I cannot tell you how much less stressful our day to day life is now. We have a lot of work to do still, but Zoe helped get us to a place where we can manage and not feel like we're drowning every day. She has continued to be supportive in our follow up sessions and we feel so much better knowing they have somewhere safe and educational to go for boarding when we leave town. If you're on the fence - just do it. It's so worth it!

My husband and I took our terrier mix to Rascal Training's board and train program in the hopes of helping our anxious and reactive dog. We were definitely a little nervous about leaving our buddy for so many days but what we got out of the program was so much more than we could have hoped for. Throughout the process Zoe was so attentive, gentle, thorough, and patient. The team was so good at giving updates and were always available to us if we had any questions. When it came time to pick our buddy up we were amazed at all the progress he had made. Our dog is an anxious dog and we could see the improvement in his confidence and we couldn't be happier. Zoe went well over the allotted time scheduled to make sure that we had a clear understanding of everything our pup had learned and that we felt comfortable with all the new tools we had just learned also. All in all I would definitely recommend this program to anyone that might be thinking about it. We personally walked away with a better bond with our dog, a better understanding of him, and I'd say more importantly a clearer grasp on how we can be better for him. Zoe and her team are patient, kind, humorous, and attentive and gentle. This definitely exceeded our expectations.

Took my 11 week old Aussiedoodle to Zoe's Bark Until Dark Puppy Social last night! Super easy drop off and pick up, and picked up a tired and happy pup! Very fair pricing for puppy socials, and I will definitely be going back (hopefully weekly)! Thank you Zoe!

We sent our poodle/aussie mix to Zoe for a two-week board and train and we are thrilled with the results. Zoe is an excellent trainer, very communicative and thorough. Our pup made huge strides in the program, most notably increased impulse control and less anxiety. We are having a lot of fun working with our pup now that she has a strong training foundation to build off of.

Deagle is an American Pitbull Terrier, which predisposes him to negative biases. Being a first time pittie mom, I was not prepared. He was poorly socialized and had inconsistent training for the first 4 years of his life. It was VERY stressful to take him anywhere because of he would go crazy in the car while getting gas or at the drive-thru -- lunging, barking, howling. He would pull on his leash until he choked himself on flat collars. Walks were so very unpleasant. Only time I could be (mostly) stress-free was when at home. At home he's pretty chill and not destructive (even left alone for 8+ hours). When COVID hit and life came to a halt, it was perfect timing to get serious about his training. Unfortunately, he was so stubborn I was only able to get so far with the training. Then, I found Zoe/Rascal Training and boy am I grateful. Initially, Zoe was hesitant to take on Deagle due to his history of reactivity and aggression. Somehow she was gracious enough to take him (THANK YOU, ZOE) with my word that I am willing to put in the work. He did a 28-day board and train with RT. Throughout his training, Zoe kept in contact with me and explained to me he had pretty serious anxiety contributing to a lot of his "bad" behavior. He is a much more calm dog now, but this takes daily commitment to continue working with him on his skills and building confidence. Now, I can walk with him on a long/loose leash and he's not tried to bolt away from me. He walks in a heel position and auto-sits when I stop. Our walks are very different now and I'm so glad I decided to enroll him for the intense training. I still keep in touch with Zoe via text frequently and she's so responsive. I keep joking she will block me, but she reassures me she won't :) Training is an investment and commitment both financially and time, but really... you made the commitment when you got your dog. This will just make life less stressful and more pleasant with a well-behaved companion.

The classes cover a wide range of essential topics from basic commands like sit, stay, to more advanced topics like loose-leash walking and impulse control. Wonder Puppy ensures a positive experience for everyone who walks through their doors, offering personalized guidance and support. I really had no idea puppy socialization is so important. Wonder Puppy enables a safe and controlled environment where puppies can interact and play with one another. I've already seen the value in these socialization experiences as my puppy is beginning to calm down, and to learn appropriate behaviors... most notably, how much is too much? Seriously, those little teeth and claws are really quite sharp! I appreciate the well-maintained and clean facility at Wonder Puppy. There is ample street parking in the neighborhood, though beware of the homeless camp located on the next block. Use common sense when securing your vehicles, and be sure to keep any valuables out of sight or bring them in the building with you. My husband, my puppy and I have all benefited tremendously from our time at Wonder Puppy. It's been a really positive experience, and I'm hoping the lessons we've learned will serve us for many years to come.

My wife and I can't say enough about how Ryan and Mandy have changed our lives for the better…read morebecause of the training they did with our beagle Bumper. We tried multiple other training classes and techniques in the Portland area but none of them were able to help us with Bumper's leash aggression, pulling, and stubbornness. We were at the point where we were hesitant to take him anywhere because of how naughty he was. After doing much research and reading all of the excellent reviews, we decided to try Off Leash K9 Training. Although Ryan and Mandy were located in Eugene, we decided do the two-week course where Bumper stayed with them 24/7. We had doubts about whether or not it would work because of how stubborn our kiddo was, but he came back a different dog! No he is not perfect and he still acts out, but he is soooooo much better than before and we feel comfortable taking him out in public. Ryan and Mandy even extended his training for an additional week at no cost because he wasn't making the progress they had hoped he would. When we finally picked up Bumper after the three weeks, Ryan spent over two-hours with my wife and I to go over Bumper's trainings and commands. He was very patient and did a great job explaining everything. Yes the training is very expensive, more than I ever thought I'd pay for dog training, but the benefits of a well behaved beagle are priceless. Ryan and Mandy also run a dog rescue on site so it was great to know Bumper would not be alone. We will definitely be using Ryan and Mandy again for all of our training needs. Thank you!
