My man and I ordered from here for lunch today. We had curry chicken egg rolls, jerk chicken, cabbage and rice and peas. The egg rolls were so good and very hearty. They had carrots and potatoes in them. The jerk chicken was good and bbq-y tasting yet spicy enough for our liking. The cabbage was average. We liked the rice and peas the least; they used basmati rice which we found pretty weird and it wasn't cooked enough. Overall, pleased. We will try the mac and cheese as a side next. read more

No hello when I entered. No goodbye when I left. Absolutely no "Thank you." Jerk chicken could've used salt. Menu items were missing during order time. This food is SO good. I got the jerk chicken plate with cabbage, Mac and cheese, and candied yams, and everything is delicious! My boyfriend got the vegan oxtail and he absolutely loved it too. We also got the shrimp and crab rolls and they are to die for. I definitely recommend the happy happy juice, it is so fresh. And they gave us free dessert! This is the best place, such lovely staff. Wanting some Curried Goat and not wanting to go across the bridge for some, I remembered Rasta Kitchen. I ordered the Curried Goat, rice and peas and cabbage. While waiting for my order and looking around, my eyes came upon the refrigerator which held various food items such as carrots and green peppers. Inside the bag of peppers, directly in front were molded peppers. I should have walked out, but didn't. Arrived home, opened the container for a taste. Nothing was seasoned. After trying to bring life to this dish with my spices, I began to realize that instead of Goat meat I had Goat bones with slivers of meat. HORRIBLE!!! Won't be going back! read more

We've been missing out on this little spot right around the corner! We got their beef patties, crab and shrimp egg roll, jerk chicken platter with Mac and cheese and plantains, and salmon. Our fave was the beef patties and jerk chicken. Everything had good spice and you could tell they take pride in what they make. Honestly we want to go through the whole menu, everything sounds and smells so good! Extremely delayed service. My family and I order regularly from a similar style restaurant in Philly, the Nile Cafe. We were excited to try this place out, because it is closer to us. We ordered enough food for a family of 6. The person on the phone said it would be ready in 35 minutes. We arrived at 35 minutes. We were told to come back 20 minutes later. Our food wasn't ready for 1 hour and 35 minutes. I have no problem with food taking a long time to make. I do have a problem standing in a restaurant with my one son doing nothing while the rest of my family is away from us at home. Other people were also waiting a very long time for their food. No real explanations were provided and there weren't a lot of orders. The food was pretty good, but not as healthy or as good as the Nile Cafe. Next time will order from and drive to the Nile Cafe. I wish our experience had been better. I don't like having to complain in order to get my food after waiting three times longer than I was told by the restaurant. Honestly I wish I had walked out after an hour. To be clear again I would have no problem if they had told me it would take an hour or an hour and a half for the food. Honesty is the best policy. I hope they change their policy or get better at being aware of the impact of their wildly inaccurate predictions on their customers and be more respectful to that end. read more

food is great! Service is a little slow but sometimes good food takes time Would prefer the fried shrimp to not have the sweet sauce on it. Ordered it twice and thought it was a mistake the first time. Ordered "fried shrimp" again days later, and it came with the sauce on them again. Will just request them naked next time, no biggie. read more

Tried the jerk chicken cheese steak and eggs rolls, both were great, the jerk chicken is very well done it has a good smokey flavor.

I was leaving my haircut appt during the late afternoon when I noticed this place. I swear it just popped up out of nowhere but upon entering and asking the lady at the counter how long has this place been open she said "a little over a year." I ordered jerk chicken extra spicy with no sides and an oxtail platter. When I tell you that food was so good, it's no joke. She gives a sneak peak before she puts it in the bag and my taste buds were racing. I barely made it to the car before opening up that chicken box and tearing it up. It wasn't the best I've had but it was pretty good. The oxtails on the other hand were the best! Moist and delicious and had me wishing the platter was bigger. I was so impressed I ordered again the next day and the brown stewed chicken and curry goat. The hours aren't great 11a-7p but the food is awesome. Get there early if you want the best options because though it never seems packed the food does disappear! read more
