So I was introduced to this place from a lady that works here, I dropped her off one day while doing Lyft. The ppl were very nice, and greeted everyone as you walked into the restaurant. There are a few seats, and it was clean. We did have to wait a little while due to them doing online line orders and ringing the orders up. I ordered a large oxtail and my nephew ordered stew chicken. The food was very tasty but I wouldn't go out my way to go back. The young lady that made our platters gave us bare minimum, I ordered the lobster Mac and didn't receive that, instead I received the regular Mac, and she even wrote it on my platter. They were so bare minimum to the point that when the guy who I think was the owner or manager looked at my food he was even shocked because he hesitated when looking at my platter like this is missing something. It was obvious but I don't think he wanted to correct her in front of us so he charged me $62.35. read more

A family of 5 we get a large oxtail, turkey wings, curry goat, curry chicken, each platter comes with two sides, 2 rices, 2 Mac and cheese, 2 yams, collard greens, green beans or cabbage. I have searched high and low for a decent authentic Jamaican restaurant. Mostly trying out spots in Philadelphia and not being pleased with the taste or portions. This food is THE BEST next to my momma's cooking. Seriously. Portions on point. Flavors on point. I ordered three large dinners: Oxtail with cabbage and Mac & Cheese; Jerk Chicken with collard greens and Mac & Cheese; Curry Chicken with collard greens and Mac & Cheese. Pics below. A 40 min drive for me and I will be back. Also the cornbread didn't make it home. It was fresh out of the oven and I could resist eating it on the way home. It was delicious. Rarely I give a place five stars unless my experience was completely satisfying. From the environment to the taste of the food to the friendliness of the staff, it was worth the visit. My first time visiting here I chose to get the brown stew chicken, curry chicken, macaroni and cheese, plantains, cabbage, rice and peas, and collard greens ( I was really hungry). The rice was full of flavor which is not the norm for most Caribbean or international places. The rice was soft and well cooked. The brown stew chicken gravy was out of this world. The mac and cheese was not too cheesy but just right. The cabbage was sautéed well and the collards were excellent. I guess my only and sole gripe is that the curry chicken could have been seasoned just a tad bit more nonetheless it doesn't take away from my desire to come back as I sure will. Oh and their phone goes straight to vm and the vm is full! However the food is already cooked and kept heated. I've been coming here faithfully for 5 years now but this is my first review. I've had countless problems here but still wanted to support a black owned business. Let me start by saying the food is amazing. Unfortunately the customer service is beyond reprehensible. They don't admit when they're wrong, they don't apologize and nobody has a sense of urgency. Yesterday while out driving I called to place my order but was immediately put on hold. During this time I arrived at the store, stood in line, ordered my food, waited for it to be cooked and was still on hold! Today I go back for someone on hospice because all they wanted was a fish sandwich. I crossed over the bridge from PA to get here, waited 25 minutes, paid, checked the food and there was just fish, not a sandwich. I told them and they proceed to tell me they had no bread. Why wasn't I told that when I ordered a fish sandwich?! I know Shirley the owner personally and not once did she step out in the dining area to apologize. I purchased a large oxtail dinner from Delicious Dishes a few weeks ago and the portion of oxtails were ridiculous. There were 3 thin sliced fatty oxtails good portion of rice and cabbage. If a large is 3 then I would hate to see what a regular size would have been. The flavors are great but again the additional cost for a large that looks more like a small was insulting and not justifiable. The next time I want oxtails I will go to Camden or Philly where theiportions and charges make you comfortable with what you're being charged in comparison to 10/24/19: After months of not having returned, I decided to give Delicious Dishes 1 more try. The price went up and Sadly to say the portions are still small and not right considering the cost. I asked for the owner but was told she was too busy. Well I hope all the best for this restaurant. This restaurant has been in the neighborhood since 2013. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant is clean and there is enough space for roughly 24-30 patrons to dine. The tables are far enough apart to eat and talk without having to worry about hearing people ar the next table. I had the large fried flounder fillet with, candies yams and mac and cheese and Iced tea (Snapple). For dessert I had the banana pudding. My wife had the medium flounder fillet with collard greens. She also had the jerk chicken with beans and rice. Everything was delicious. The food is seasoned just right. This little spot is a hidden gem! It satisfies the craving we had for soul food! Still the best Jamaican food in the area. Prices have increased since I started going here 8 years ago but still worth it. My favorite is still the oxtail with rice and bean. Service is always pleasant. The ambiance hasn't changed but remains clean and presentable. Their food is always a hit at my parties and reasonably priced for the amount given. I ordered oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage. The food has some really good bold flavors. For some reason I kept tasting ketchup in the oxtail. I guess that's the secret ingredient. If it's your first time here, as it was mine, they hook you up with a complimentary corn bread which I inhaled within seconds. All in all, good food, good service, good prices. This place is pretty good. I've actually eaten from here 3 or 4 times and didn't realize that I had never written a review. This is prob the closest West Indian spot to my home, so when I get a craving coming here usually does the trick. On a typical day I'd get the curry or jerk shrimp with rice & peas or a curry chicken patty. I tried their cabbage before, but I didn't like it. It was too soft for my liking.
