    Ratio on a snowy day
    Matt C.

I can't believe this Ratio location has been open for two years now and I just visited for the first time this past weekend. In the Overland neighborhood, it's only a few streets away from Broadway and some great businesses, but this location seems out in the weeds for whatever reason. Ratio has been a top brewery for me since I moved to Denver. I've prophesied on more than one occasion that King of Carrot Flowers is the unofficial beer of Denver. A seasonal carrot saison named after a Neutral Milk Hotel song? If that doesn't scream Denver, I don't know what does! They had an art market this past weekend with various vendors. Due to the snowstorm, they had to have the event entirely indoors and they have plenty of space in the back of the brewery to host events like these. It's funny seeing the Declaration of Independence still hanging from the previous brewery, which was fittingly named "Declaration." They closed during the beginning of Covid, and I'm glad Ratio slid in to take over the space. They still make great beer. Repeater is a go to pale ale for me. They do make some new beers on occasion, but I actually love their smaller menu with the core offerings they have on hand. Quality not quantity. This brewery definitely seems like the grown up older sibling compared to the constant punk party in RiNo. However, the bartenders were extremely friendly and it made for an appropriate setting on a snow day. I hope more people find them in this hidden part of town and show them some love!

I enjoyed my visit to Ratio. Their beer was very good and it was a nice cap to my night of brewery hopping. The bartender was very nice and the taproom had a good vibe. Definitely a star in the Denver craft beer scene:

Big Ratio fan, been coming to this location since it opened. Lots of seating, ample bike parking, and of course, great beer.

You can tell a lot of thought went into making the environment accessible, from the seating options to adaptive dining tools and sensory-friendly areas. It's one of the most intentionally designed spaces I've seen. The food holds up too. The pizzas are solid with a good variety of options, and everything we tried was enjoyable. The standout for me was Mama's Cinnamon Dessert Pizza. Warm, sweet, and topped with cream cheese frosting, it's easily something I would go back for on its own. They also have craft beer, a fun atmosphere, and even a dance floor, which adds to the overall experience. It's a great spot that combines good food with a meaningful mission.

They also had live soft music that was great. We sat on the patio and it was really comfortable and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Stay for the good that they're doing in the community. I visited thinking that it was another brewpub and I was delighted to see that there were food, coffee and non-alcoholic options. Our group was delighted across the board with what we got. This space though is so much more than a restaurant. There were coworking spaces, beautiful crafts from local makers, and a playground. It is truly a welcoming space.

While I don't find it especially amazing, it's good enough to enjoy in this amazing space. I do like the little kids charcuterie plate though. If kids aren't your jam, the seating on the other side of the space is plenty far away and separated. The location is wonderful and outside seating is appreciated. Keep doing what you're doing, I'm so glad this business exists!

Ordering was electronic, everything came out incredibly fast, and most importantly, the food and drinks were delicious. I also really appreciated the family-friendly and pet-friendly environment. My daughter has dogs, and I'm allergic, so when I visit her in Colorado I don't get to spend time at her house. But at the same time, I feel bad if we're out all day/night and her dogs are left home alone. Finding places that are dog-friendly (but outdoors) where I can keep a comfortable distance from pet hair and dander is the perfect compromise for us. Each visit, we're always on the lookout for places like this, and I'm so glad we finally tried Denver Beer Co. It checked all the boxes and made our time together that much more enjoyable... and the dogs loved all of the pets they got from the other customers! We'll definitely be back on future visits.

On really hot days the few shaded spots go first so there may not be opportunity for cooler spots. The indoors is fairly small but on nice days the garage doors will be open. Beer is a good variety and has all the favorites. Princess Yum Yum is always a hit. Food is actually really good for a brewery. The wings and duck fat fries are a highlight. Burger is pretty good but they don't allow any substitutions. Service can be hit or miss, sometimes they are friendly and sometimes they forget about you and give you attitude. Right next door is Right Cream so you can enjoy ice cream after your beers and food.
