The Rattlesnake Bar can be a fun and amusing destination, As long as you know what to expect before coming here. This is a high end, boujee cocktail bar with a unique twist, located at the Ritz Carlton in the uptown area of Dallas. In the evenings, there is usually lots scenery in the form of well dressed, beautiful, friendly and "available" women with whom one could negotiate for a date. (Ahem... :D ) The cocktails and food are expensive and well presented. The staff are attentive and competent as well. The bartenders here are good: they know and love their craft! Try one of their margaritas, the place is known for them. I have been there two times on a weekend night. Both times, There was live music. Thursday night madness!! I don't think this place ever sleeps! Pretty rowdy crowd for a median age of 50 (that's not old folks, but they were partying like college kids). Definitely a vibe and must try spot for cocktails in Dallas. Ambience- the lounge itself is spacious with bar seating, couches, and small tables. The people watching here is one of the best things about this spot. Definitely a killer date night location. Service- During the pandemic it may be tough to get a spot inside the lounge but they do actually have a server bring cocktails to the lobby as well which is nice. We love the margaritas and guacamole at the Ratttlesnake bar. The mai tais are incredible too. The chicken quesadillas are also a wIn. There is an eclectic group of folks that patronize this bar. Since it's at the Ritz, there are a lot of ritzy folks. I've been here about 5-6 times and more than once have I seen a couple of ladies looking for a good time at the bar, if you know what I mean. This is for the food only via Room Service while staying at the Ritz Pros 1. Decent menu selection that is different and better than a typical bar menu. For example, you can get lobster nachos, or a bacon-wrapped wagyu beef appetizer. 2. Bottom line, the food is good. The burger on a pretzel bun is good and filling. The smoked chicken quesadilla isn't large, but the six toasty little triangles are packed with cheese, chicken, and just the right amount of bbq sauce and the quality makes up for quantity. The lobster nachos are not a typical pile of chips with stuff on top - rather it's about a dozen individual chips packed with toppings (similar to how they do the Wednesday guacamologist, where chips are loaded up and served individually). The chips and trio dip is quite nice... the chips are light and crunchy with just the right amount of salt, and the three dips give you variety (and will outlast the chips): I like the cheese dip the most, followed by the fresh guac, and then the spicy salsa (but all very tasty). 3. The Rattlesnake Bar is a stop on the "Margarita Mile" and we should have skipped this one. We had fun checking out the fancy Ritz but were pretty surprised that 4 of the margaritas featured for the mile were a total of $95.00. Some kind of price warning would have been appreciated. This bar is also a bit snooty and does not really fit in with the rest of the stops. One gentleman here was so drunk he could barely walk and kept coming to our table making it difficult to enjoy these way overpriced drinks. read more

We arrived at 11:00PM and it was already crazy packed. Majority 50+ age bracket and the additional "professional" mixed in. Great people watching but that's about it. Nice lounge seating if there is any open, bathrooms are nice and very spacious. The drinks were not as bad as a lot of people are mentioning I did not think. Free valet is a plus but its pretty gross in there with all the sleezy old men and "hot young things" ready to do anything for a dollar. read more

As one might expect, the bar at the Ritz-Carlton is no hole-in-the-wall. The drinks are top-notch at top-notch prices, the crowd is moneyed and beautiful (if not slightly older, stiffer, and less hip than across the street at ZaZa), and the decor is similar to the crowd. The service is actually pretty friendly, which I find a welcome relief in places like this. There are quite a few places here in town competing for two-figure martini dollars...I prefer to spend my hard-earned $$$$ in places with chill staff. And they don't go to the other extreme either and needlessly kiss my ass all evening. There is both an indoor and outdoor area (tented though not always open in the winter) that have a distinctly different feel from one another. Oh, one caveat about some of the people who come here: I'm not saying they're gold diggers, but they ain't messin' wit no broke, umm.....dudes neither. We came here before our Restaurant Week reservation at Fearing's this year. After reading the other reviews, I am wondering if maybe we missed some of it? I was kind of surprised at how small the area was; just the bar and a couple couches/tiny tables scattered around it. It sounds like there is a patio area as well. Complimentary nuts! Those were good. The bartender was obviously swamped so I don't think we experienced normal service, but he was as friendly as could be expected given the situation. I'm a fan of hotel bars and while I enjoyed this one, the minus one star is for the fact that at the time, I didn't really feel like I was in a bar, more just like the waiting area for the restaurant. I'll have to go back and check it out again. The four stars are mostly for the jalapeno capirinhas I had. Damn, now that is a good drink. I totally owe Rattlesnake Bar for my newfound addiction to spicy drinks. The last one I had was the spiciest of all--there was a half a jalapeno floating on top, seeds and all!!! I pull up to the valet behind the Porches and Maserati's in my dirty old Nissan. I kindly hand the keys over to the valet guy and say "take good care of her" He winks with a smile as I sashay my way on inside the hotel bar looking for trouble. Seconds later, two lovely police officers come in after me and politely escort myself and my girlfriend outside the bar area as nearby patrons look on in amusement. "What did I do?" I say. "Can I see your ID," he replies. {blushing} "I'm 30---and flattered" {looks at ID} "Have a good night" The fact that a 30 year old gets carded here is quite telling about the clientele. There aren't very many places that I can go uptown and not feel like an old f*cktard, so for that, I appreciate this place. Located in the Ritz-Carlton...This is a nice place. I always love all the beautiful flowers at the entrance. I have come here with a friend of mine who absolutely loves it. We hang in the outdoor area where there is plenty of room to lounge and chill with friends. The bartenders out there, Cedric & Ryan, are the best! Jaime (indoors) is also very good. Ced & Ryan both make specialty concoctions. Drinks are pricy. I observed one woman order a $17 mojito. They just opened a dance area within the past 2-3 weeks. I think they are still feeling out DJ's. It was nice, though. I love the chandelier in there. The crowd is usually middle aged to older than that with plenty of money. LOL. I recently visited Dallas and the one place my brother kept taking me back to was the Rattlesnake Bar. I'm glad to share that I find it very laid back, especially lounging outside the patio bar. Although the atmosphere may reek of pretentious socialites, it remains filled with good ol' southern charm. My first visit was in February so most people were still bundled up slightly. Now that summer is in full swing, its an evening show of what plastic surgeon's can offer the world. Most women are most likely in their 30s, 40s, and even 50s. But if they didn't look at least a decade younger, they have other assets that are worth getting your attention. The V lines are about the same thing as lights on airport landing strips.* So even though the cocktails may be $10. I'm sure that the bartender poured $8 worth of vodka into my cup and $0.25 worth of tonic when he served me. Yes, I say that we're still fans of the Rattlesnake Bar. In the most non-pretentious way possible, this bar was one of my favorites while at SMU. Yes, the crowd is older, but I prefer older-aged bars like this one, and the Loon. I've been multiple times with my only girlfriend who likes to get out of the SMU scene and we never leave without memories, or numbers, or both. The drinks aren't cheap, duh, it's the Ritz. But, they use quality liquor and have exemplary bartenders/waitstaff. Also the seating area is gorgeous, the vibe is always refreshing, in my opinion. And if you're lucky, you'll run into George Lopez just outside of the Rattlesnake with his crew, like we did last year. It was fun times. Anyways, JJ, the young bartender used to be the best, but he recently left and moved to Austin, so I have no idea how the new kid behind the bar is. Lastly, be prepared to valet if you're driving here, unless you're cabbing it from elsewhere, which is way easier, btw. *Don't dress like an SMU bimbo if you are indeed an SMU girl planning on dropping by. I love the rattlesnake bar. It's some of the best people watching in Dallas, and its always fun to dress up and hit the town and see who else is doing the same. When I feel like one of those nights, I always end up here. I also love the service, the wine selection is fantastic, and I have to admit that I dream of the lobster nachos from time to time. I tried a new drink when I was there last night, the Summer Sangria. It's very light and full of fresh cut apples, berries and pear. The only trouble is that the fruit can get int the way of your beverage. But it was so refreshing it was worth it. They also have free valet, which I love, and you can order off of Fearing's amazing menu if you so chose. A winner in my book! read more

This is a good place to hangout for the cougar crowd. It's easy to find right inside the Ritz Carlton, outside of Fearing's. My buddy likes to swing by as we make our bar hopping rounds on the weekend. I like it just for the people watching. I saw the owner of a local sports team here once. If you want to grab a drink and have a conversation with a few friends, this is the type of place. Not only is it located inside of a really great hotel in downtown but it is nicely appointed in a southwestern decor in a luxury sway. Sure they have all the bottled beers of Texas, but they also have a great selection of house drinks which are reasonably priced and the house made lemon-liquor is not bad at all. The people were your average Joe's for sure, people were looking pretty, like they thought about what they were going to wear in a slightly conservative but upscale manner.
