The Raven was so sweet to us vegetarians who were looking for more than beans and cheese burritos! This place was, hands down, my favourite restaurant in Prescott. It is cute, quaint, and offers excellent food/tea/coffee/beer that were mostly locally and/or organically sourced. My friend and I were visiting Prescott from the land of microbreweries (aka Seattle), but we've never seen such a vast selection of beers. I loved how they served loose leaf tea (hoji tea was my absolute favourite) heavily stuffed in a bag dangling over a glass cup. I'd also highly recommend their brunch (Dutch pancakes, which were a lot more like crepes, were stuffed with some yogurt sauce and fruits and so delicious that I hated to share them with my boyfriend...). Everyone working at the Raven was ridiculously nice, which was a huge plus. I so wish I could bring the Raven back home! read more

Wonderful draft beer selection, great food made with local ingredients, super friendly service, reasonable prices and an artsy, indie atmosphere. In other words: a fun place! We had the veggie burger with paprika shoestring fries and the Greek flatbread pizza. All was tasty, but nothing truly remarkable or generous (portions-wise). Chester arrived at 8pm, hankering for a sammie after the drive to Prescott. After ordering at the bar, he was able to enjoy the rooftop patio. In order to maximize French fry intake, Chester and his partner described to order a veggie burger and the tofu sandwich because both came with fries. If Chester was a flesh eater, both vegetarian items would have seemed pretty rough. However, Chester does not eat flesh and is use to some more bland (veggie burger) or tangy mustard (tofu sandwich) flavors so he liked them. Fries were good. The service was very friendly Chester was very happy to observe a female manager being really nice to a new worker who was doing a great job, and affirming his hard work. He likes it when he knows employees are pretty happy, because they are less likely to spit in his food or eye. read more

Raven Cafe was the first restaurant I discovered when I moved to the Prescott area. I was worried that I wouldn't find decent vegan food anywhere since I was moving to a smaller town (smaller than Phoenix). Many non-vegans referred me to Raven thinking the restaurant could accommodate my lifestyle, they were right. I've eaten here at least a dozen times this year, and the food is consistently delicious. They have a wonderful wine menu. The rooftop seating is outstanding. They are not a vegan restaurant, so my non-vegan friends enjoy eating here as well. For vegans, I recommend the veggie "mushroom" tacos. Delicious! Also comes in jackfruit, but I really enjoy the mushrooms. Definitely check them out if you're in the Prescott area. read more

This is more of a 3.5, but not quite a 4 star in my book. We had lunch here over the labor day weekend, the place definitely has a cool space. It also has what looks like an amazing beer and wine selection. This seemed like the type of place I would bank on being 5 stars, no problem. The problem started with us ordering, we just kind of stood around at the counter for a bit, no one ever greeted us or gave us much attention. Finally we got some service but it wasn't much better, the guy took our order, has some problems with it, and it took awhile to get it all together, all while being not all that friendly the entire time. Maybe because he was working on "labor day", it's a possibility, but I will only cut him so much slack. I had the Tofu/Veggie sandwich and my other half had the falafel pita. Both were decent but not anything earth shattering, something I could definitely throw together at home. I like the vibe of this place and it seems like maybe a good dinner spot, although the dinner menu appeared to be lacking. I would like to come back to try this place again, maybe we will get a better employee, maybe I can have some beer, and maybe we will try to avoid coming on a holiday. read more

I've been to this place a few times, and I must conclude that it is the "urban" hangout in an otherwise bleakly redneck town. A hipster essence just exudes from the decor, the beer selection, and the vegetarian menu options. I really love the upstairs patio, and apparently you can view a swarm of bats exiting the building next door at dusk every night. The food is probably the best you'll find in Prescott (not saying much). I really like their selection of wraps. My boyfriend once ordered a buffalo burger that came practically raw and without the top bun (we are still unsure as to whether or not this was intentional). This is probably my favorite spot in downtown Prescott. The vibe is laid back, it is crowded with locals and visitors alike. They have good coffee and local and organic ingredients. But the best part for me was the craft brew selection. They have about 20 or so taps as well as a few fridges you can walk up to and choose bottles from. Their is a nice selection of Belgians, a ton from San Diego, as well as a few from Dogfish, Sierra Nevada, and few from northern California. Overall an impressive list for this area...and you can do tasting flights of the drafts. Prices are pretty reasonable for these quality beers. Salads are nice and healthy, soups are hearty, and I recommend the Pulled Pork sandwich which comes on a nice brioche style bun and is best with their paprika fries which taste not like fries, but like real potatoes. read more

The wife and I stopped in on our way home from a night at (the best hotel in the state)The Motor Lodge. The food was good and well priced, especially considering their dedication to local, farm fresh and organic ingredients. The atmosphere was great too; a nice, friendly hipster vibe. We had both lived it up the night before so we were looking for hangover remedies, therefore we both had the Traditional burger with cheddar and bacon. The quality of all the ingredients was quite evident but unfortunately I can't say either of us enjoyed our burgers, as neither were seasoned at all. Not a hint of salt, pepper or anything else. I'm thinking that maybe it was due to an oversight in the kitchen, 'cause had the burgers been seasoned they would likely have been fantastic. The coffee was very good and so was the OJ. I will definitely give this place another try on my next visit to the Motor Lodge and hopefully I'll be upgrading my rating for what otherwise seemed to be a great place. read more

We came here the last time that we visited family in AZ. We had stopped by a few times before but they are always pretty busy, so we would wind up moseying along. On this day we ordered their hummus plate a beer and a glass of wine. There was a dj playing a great assortment of jazz, blues and just all around good music. They're the only bar around that sells Dogfish Head Beer! They have pear cider (alcoholic) for hot summer afternoons. Need I say more? Okay, sure. They have arthouse movie nights. They have a lovely upstairs patio with a firepit and canopy. They always have great live music with no cover. The vibe is an all-ages mix of mountain bikers, live music fans, Prescott College kids, laptop-weenies (meant affectionately), tourists, friends catching up over coffee/tea/beer and/or a sandwich, and bar-goers. The Raven is also a huge supporter of the recreational and competitive biking community and the growing bike transporation movement in this town. Hooray. On that rare occasion I want to do my homework with a beer instead of coffee or tea, I've gone there on a weeknight when there's no live music and been able to study. However, when the place is packed during prime time, the acoustics are a noisy din because of the open space and cement floors. The Raven is pricey... but there's a reason. The food is organic. It can be hit or miss on the quality of food or service (as 100 other reviews have said.) It's bar food, but a fresher menu than say the Prescott Brewery fare. Sometimes you do get what you pay for. If it's busy, you will wait for your food and for your server to return. And maybe wait some more. Order at the counter (beverages only or also food) instead and bring it to your table. If the downstairs counter is busy, go upstairs and order at the patio bar if they're staffing it. This is a tough town lately to keep a restaurant business open. The Raven is one of the better places in Prescott, when there are less and less non-chain and non-Italian-Mexican small eateries that are surviving. read more

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Raven. We had to wait in line a little while to place our order but it was worth it. We both had the turkey sandwich with cranberry and cream cheese. The sweet potato fries were the best we've had. We sat at the bar and enjoyed iced tea, but the beer selection was amazing. We plan to return to try out a few of the many beers they have on hand. I stopped into The Raven for dinner after hearing the great reviews from locals here in Preskitt. It a super cute cafe type place with a great craft beer selection and a small menu of delicious sounding items. Burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, ... Many local ingredients and a semi artsy feel to the decor. I say semi because I don't quite get the "take a photo, put it on canvas, and charge $300" type of "art". I digress... My meal consisted of the lemon chicken pita which was very much like a gyro with tzaiki sauce, tomato, lettuce, grilled chicken, onions, and a delicious lemon sauce that had a parmesan creamy style. A got a side of the paprika fries which were thin fries but not too thin. :) The food came out hot after about 15 minutes or so and it was super good. I ate it all! Usually pretty good. However today, the food really wasn't that good. My wife ordered a Lamberger, and it wasn't even cooked. We had to send it back and it took about 20 minutes for it to finally come back to us, and they forgot to put the Gouda cheese on it. We noticed that we weren't the only ones with under cooked lamb. One lady had to wait about 30 minutes. The guy next to us returned his burger and got refunded. Oh well. read more

My hubby and I went in on our lunch break. I was a little confused by it all at first. There were people everywhere. We got in line, grabbed a menu and ordered. The fella that took our order seemed rushed...I mean, it was crowded, but overall just took our order in a very annoyed fashion. Ok - I can handle that. Seating was really limited, and there were people on laptops with a coffee that were there before us, and still there when we left. I know this is the trendy and hipster thing - but it was kind of annoying when we were trying to just get a seat and were ordering food and drinks. My husband and I absolutely love this place. We usually come here for lunch or dinner once or twice a week when we are in town. They have a cool waitstaff and a lot of craft beers that change constantly. Sometimes we get disappointed when a beer that we've become fond of is suddenly changed. They also have an eclectic food selection from organic local sources. Our favorite is the grilled salmon, but I also love the mac & cheese. I also love that they send emails advertising their bands and entertainment. Kudos to this restaurant for letting people feel welcome and comfortable no matter what the age. It just so happened that we would be in Prescott, Arizona on July 5th, and seeing a poster board ad for the Raven Cafe we headed that direction. The mass confusion at the counter should have told us to head the other way, but we decided to stay and give the place a try. This it seems turned out to be the wrong decision. Watching patrons depart the Cafe without having received their food, and seeing other ask what had happened to their orders, "your order will be up in 40+ minutes. We are sorry, but we are having issues in the kitchen." Why would it take any kitchen staff 40+ minutes to make a burger? Why does it take 30+ minutes to receive a Chop Salad, and a Greek Salad? Why should a patron have to witness the kitchen staff, which can't seem get the pending orders correct and out to the patrons in a timely manner, graze from plates under the heat lamp? At 40 minutes we asked for a refund, thankfully given, and we departed - NEVER TO RETURN... Never More! read more

I hate giving the raven a 2 because the other times I've been there it's been fantastic. My husband and I were on a mini vacation and stayed in Prescott, he wanted a birthday burger from the raven. So we ordered and sat upstairs, I ordered a veggie burger and he ordered the raven burger. Food comes and I'm excited, I love trying new veg burgers that aren't Morningstar farms, and homemade! First bite omg told my husband it was the best veg burger I've ever had! I made him even try. He agreed.. Well I eat a few more bites and realize its not cooked all the way through.. I'm not sure when my hubby ordered his burger Medium rare they decided to cook mine the same. Ok so I actually ate a couple more bites, and we leave. ( worst pay setup ever, a little customer service would be nice .. Tips aren't for looking cool) So we leave and bike over to some dive bar where my husbands has a few drinks, I drink water..within an hour I don't feel good. We go back to our hotel and I'm just sick as a dog.. I'll skip the details but I'm angry because we had to leave our vacation early both of us not feeling too hot.
