Fried masa tacos with carne asada filling
    Daniel W.

I stopped in around lunchtime on a Friday. Sign out front says Lone Spur but that's a previous owner. There were a few other tables seated. Hostess was friendly and seated me quickly. Cute western and historic west items on the walls. The menu has a ton of good things and I ordered the fried masa tacos with carne asada filling. The service took a little longer than expected. The tacos were unique and tasty. It sort of fell apart quickly but I finished up with knife and fork. Filling and sides were fresh and good. Prices are fair. I'm definitely going to come back.

This is the poblano bacon melt. Do I need to say more. It's literally melts in your mouth

For one the food was absolutely to die for. It's not like anything in this area for sure! I loved the food, atmosphere, and good vibes. I will sure be back!

Service was prompt and friendly. All the staff were engaging and positive. The food is good. Serving size is big. I'll be skipping lunch. I love the location right in the heart of downtown. This place is truly worlds above the old Lone Star Cafe that was in this space. Similar in the cowboy/western decor only. I had the John Wayne(pork chili verde and eggs). I would recommend it. Lots of other tasty looking things in the menu so i'll certainly be back.

Food was good, we went on a Sunday at 12:30 so in the middle of the busy time. The server was very attentive but the kitchen struggled a bit. We will go back

And gravy plate with tiny little biscuits

We have been driving by this place seeing large crowds of people outside for sometime now, so this past weekend it was cold and rainy so we decided this would be a good chance to go without the crowds. Super cute place really love the decor and the staff are super friendly, but I'm afraid the food really wasn't that good. First off, everything kind of tasted like apple cider vinegar. It's like they washed the dishes in vinegar or something. The corn beef hash was really corn beef lunchmeat they chopped up with some mashed potatoes and other ingredients, it also tasted like apple cider vinegar. Someone at our table got biscuits and gravy and the biscuits were actually more like dumplings. They really weren't baked and they were like little blobs of dough about the size of small meatballs. The gravy was flat, and lacked flavor. I really wanted to like this place. The staff was so friendly and upbeat, the decor is so cute, and I also really liked the creativity in the menu making references to cowboy movies, but gosh, they really need to make a change in the kitchen.

Birria tacos. Rec by server. Grease bombs. One bite and no more! When server finally returned and asked if we were finished, no question as to why we were throwing away our entire meal. There are many places to eat in Prescott. We won't return.

I got the Breakfast Tacos and my wife got the Salazar skillet. We both really enjoyed our meals. For my tacos, I had one green chile brisket, one chorizo, and one carne adovada. They were all excellent, but I'd highly recommend the carne adovada. My wife really enjoyed her skillet. We both agreed that next time, we would each probably pick different items, but only because there were so many things on the menu that sounded really good! We went closer to lunchtime on a weekday and there was no wait, but I could see there definitely being a wait at breakfast time on the weekend, as the interior is small and has only about six tables. But it would be well worth the wait. We will definitely be back.

The homemade mixed berry jam is delicious. But that's sort of where the good stuff ends. The coffee has no taste, the sausage is a weird squished down link, and the pancakes lacked fluff. Our waitress was nice but kept forgetting things- never got water, got syrup instead of jam, didn't know the answers the questions. She seemed constantly rushed. Inside is cute, some cute little coffee art on the walls. All in all, it's not somewhere I would frequent again.

Salt & Pepper opened for business at the new location, 2970 Park Ave, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314, on July 1st. It's a 2 minute walk from the Harkin's Theater in Prescott Valley. Of course, the same eclectic menu, delectably delectable food quality, artistic presentation of tastebud tempting fare combined with great customer care made the move to the new location which is light, bright, expansive, has covered outdoor seating in addition to indoor dining, a dedicated coffee bar, and thankfully, plenty of free parking. It's wonderful to know that when you go to a restaurant, the staff will be aware and considerate of your special need. Love the menu! So diverse, so interesting in its offerings compared to the usual restaurants in Prescott Valley. Definitely a step above the rest! The new location in Prescott Valley is fantastic! Welcoming, tastefully decorated and wonderful ambience. The only thing I would say that could be improved upon, is that the large plates sometimes leave something to be desired with the presentation. I got the three tacos served on a metal stand and the rest of the plate was just EMPTY looking. Looked like it was missing something. A little garnish or even a little bit of pico de gallo, some cabbage and chopped tomato... anything would have made the meal more attractive in its presentation. Same thing with my husband's sandwich. A large white plate with lots of empty space. Small sandwich, & small portion of french fries. Food was very good, but it's kind of a mixed message when you have a plate so large that it makes the food appear as if you're getting small portions. Just something to consider for the owner perhaps. The manager was delightful and came out to ask about my gluten-free needs and educated me about the conditions in the kitchen and so forth. Great job!

Traveling back to Arizona, we knew we had to return, and once again, it exceeded every expectation. It's the kind of dish you think about long after the meal is over. What really sets this place apart, though, is the people. The staff consistently go above and beyond, creating an experience that feels both elevated and welcoming. It's rare to find a restaurant that delivers this level of quality and consistency twice, let alone make you want to keep coming back.
