What a great local brewery Doran and Chris are the brains behind this. Both of them are super nice and wonderful people. The brewery is on the smaller side but I think that's what keeps their beer in such demand, it's hard to find many bars or restaurants that have their beers on tap constantly or even more than one. They produce the coffee milk stout and pale ale most and inbetween they'll experiment with new brews which always end up being great and leaving you wanting more. They do tours and tastings every Thursday and Saturdays. It's a nice way to get a taste of what they have to offer and if you're lucky they may have something special hooked up that hasn't been released yet. I LOVE Ravenous!! I never knew it was there, and when I did know it was hard to find... but so worth it! Everyone there is great - very friendly and they know their beer. The beers? The Coffee Stout is one of my absolute favorites! I've liked everything I've had there. We hit a lot of breweries, but there are only a handful that we go to over and over again, and this is one of them. It's very small and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the bigger breweries, but it has great beer and it's always a good time. read more

This brewery was descent. It's hard to find if you don't know which plaza it's in, but you have to go down a steep hill to get into the lot. There's lots of games inside and enough tables to get a seat. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but not crowded. The interior could use a bit of a spruce up. With that being said, the beers were good and the staff was really friendly. My favorite was the coffee milk stout. On Saturdays they're only open from 1-4 so make sure you plan accordingly! read more

We ordered from J's deli across the street as we got there before the food truck which was good and then ordered some snacks later on from Tillys which were delicious. He reached out to my boyfriend personally and let him know the situation was handled and was extremely apologetic. He even offered if we wanted to come again, to get drinks on the house. I really wish I could give more than 5 stars for this one. Ravenous Brewing Co., a newly established nanobrewery, is now one of my all time favorite breweries to visit and of course, sample. The owner and founder, Dorian Rave, really has a special talent for making a delicious craft beer. The coffee milk stout is unbelievably good, as the flavors of coffee and creamy texture blend together to create a very delicious, refreshing, and full-bodied beer. The pale ale is equally delicious and more on the light and refreshing side, while infused with fruity notes. The sour beer is an interesting beer to taste! This needn't be said, but keep in mind that this is a sour scent and flavor - but bear (ha!) with this, as the lingering flavor has a hint of sweet citrus. When you walk into this nanobrewery, you are immediately welcomed with that unique breath of freshly brewed craft beers that you only experience once and a while if you are lucky enough (and smart enough) to visit a place like this. On Saturdays, there is a bar area to taste the samples, and quick tours available with the owner himself to check out the process of brewing (a very intricate and interesting process). The prices are very generous, $3 for samples and $12 per half growler (hilariously named a howler). A special note of attention needs to be paid to this owner's meaningful idea and vision behind the name of this brewery and logo. The name Ravenous and the raven logo have their own eye-catching and enticing feel, as if they grab you and just bring you in. Check out their website and make sure to "like" them on Facebook to hear about upcoming brews. A little inside scoop: there's a honey brown ale being brewed as we speak and should be available in the next few weeks! Ravenous gets my five stars for two simple reasons: Coffee Milk Stout and owner/brewmaster Dorian. Fantastic on both accounts. Ravenous' stout is one of my favorites, and I love stout from the bottom of my heart, so it's hard for me to play favorites. It is smooth, creamy, aromatic, and has the flavor of coffee milk. I'll admit I have been so obsessed with the stout that I have failed to sample their other brews, but I will get there. Someday. When I can pass up the stout. Um, never. Dorian is the proud, humble, knowledgeable, personable owner of Ravenous. He cares, not just because this is his business but because he clearly loves beer and wants to share that with people. I am certainly rooting for him and wish him the best. I hope to see Ravenous on more drafts in more bars in the area very soon! read more

I've had the opportunity to sample and experience the craft beers produced by Ravenous on a few different occassions and these creative and full flavored brews by Dorian and Chris are a great addition to the growing local beer scene here in RI. Tucked away in Woonsocket I recently had the opportunity to check out this nanobrewery and we had a great time hanging out, drinking beer and getting a tour and history of the company. For $8 each we got a pint glass to take home & a generous pour of each of the 3 beers they had available. The honey brown was delicious and brewed with local honey. Their sour ale was unique, tart and definitely an interesting beer (but in a good way). And as for the coffee milk stout...this is absolutely one of my favorite local beers. It's smooth and the coffee flavor is pronounced and so delicious. While Ravenous might not have an operation as big as some others in the state, they produce some great beers that are not to be missed. I really hope to see them popping up on draft at more local bars. And I certainly think a trip back to the brewery is in my near future since I found out that had a sweet potato stout that was close to being ready. This review is for their brewery location. Pulled up with a couple friends to check it out on a Saturday. We traveled the 25 minutes or so to good old Woonsocket. Now, we've been to several breweries this summer- Treehouse, Medusa, Wormtown, Craftroots, to name a few. This was nothing like our past adventures. First off, it's a tiny place- we drove around the building and nearly missed it. Upon opening the door, we were struck by 2 things- first and foremost was the overwhelming smell of what could only be described as cat pee. Like the strongest, most saturating, ammonia nostril burning cat piss smell. If that smell is somehow a by-product of the beer making, they need a better ventilation system. The second off-putting thing, was that the group of about 8 people (staff and what seemed like their friends) hanging at the bar all stopped talking loudly/laughing and momentarily looked at us when we walked in- like we were breaking up a private party. Next to that private party at the bar, were 2 depressed looking dogs in a crate on the floor. Honestly, at that point we looked at each other wondering if we should even stay. We decided to split one flight for 8 bucks and take it from there. Beers were poured, handed off, no descriptions. By that point, the group at the bar was back to talking amongst themselves. I walked our flight over to a big wooden table, then went back and asked for descriptions on what we were drinking and was handed a piece of paper with a brief write up on each. The big wooden table in the center of the room, had 1 barstool around it. Seriously- where are all your chairs? The only other customers in the place were a younger couple sitting at a small 2 person table off to the side. So we stood, sipped the beers, collectively agreed that they were nothing special. Although it was hard to taste with that horrible pee smell permeating everything. We didn't finish any of the samples. Not even the stout that got rave reviews on yelp. Spent all of 5 minutes there, and will never go back. Our verdict was that Ravenous was smelly, unwelcoming, and overrated. read more

We came on a Sunday and they were out of several beers, so I didn't get to try a lot, but did have the Coffee Milk Stout, a Red, and an APA (I forget the exact names). All the beers were great, especially the Stout, which had a smooth milky coffee flavor. I'll definitely be back or grab a pint on tap wherever I see it, and would recommend anyone that lives nearby check them out. read more

Their flagship Coffee Milk Stout is pretty good and that's about it. The beers are decent, but nothing to go out of your way to find. I asked the guy at the brewery if the were going to make any big hoppy IPA's and abruptly said, "no!" This question seemed to anger him. ???? $12 for a 32oz growler is a bit steep compared to the $8.00 growler of Julius from world class Tree House Brewing. Anyway, try the coffee milk stout if you come across it. read more

my s.o. and i recently moved about forty minutes away in MA, and decided to come give this little spot a try. i'm so glad we did. we arrived around 3pm on a saturday. i think the biggest issue with this place is that it's hard to find. it's not off the beaten path by any means, but there's absolutely no signage. it was one of those times when Google tells you you've arrived and you kind of look around and wonder if the navigation was existential, or literal... anywho, once we figured out which door to go in (on the opposite side of the building from the pizza place), we were immediately happy we went through the effort. the place is very small, but there are some tables, which clearly encourages you to lounge a bit and hang out. we were in the mood for a tasting, so we sidled up to the bar and began. tasting pours are very generous, and i recommend setting aside at least half an hour to get through it. the owners (husband and wife) are warm, friendly, and happy to talk to you about not only their beers and the beer-making process, but their family and travels as well. the beers we tried that day included a red ale, their coffee milk stout, and something infused with habeneros. i've had pepper beers before, but this one is all my all-time favorite. i really didn't get any "spice," but what i did taste was the inherent fruitiness that a juicy, ripe pepper can impart. the coffee milk stout was smooth, deep, and rich. and the red ale- that was my favorite. it was lighter than other reds i've had, but also had a wonderful malty quality. we didn't get any growlers that day, but if we did, the red is what i would have gotten. i highly highly recommend paying a visit to ravenous. you will not be disappointed. read more
