Ravens Grill is a hidden Gem! It's a Golf Course grill so it's casual but a little bit upscale. The menu is varied, from salads and sandwiches to Chicken Fried Steak and fried catfish. Everything I've had has been good ... Especially th Double Barrel Chicken Fried Steak. Service is always great! A big plus for me is it's not noisy ... You can actually have a conversation. I'm kinda debating about 3 or 4 stars so I'll go with 4! It's a nice quiet place for dinner has a great menu it's supposed to be known for chicken fried steak however the crust doesn't stay on good so I really do not recommend it unless you just want the steak part! They have the best baked potato around! I do like the chicken fried chicken same problem with crust but it's easier to handle! The service here is slow and super hard to get a drink refill! They are all very nice however not real experienced I'd guess! You cannot beat the prices here so that gets it the 4th star! If you get to go here for Mother day brunch I'd give that a 5 star meal! You won't be able to beat the prices here, you just won't. Go look at their menu. There's no better deal around than Burger Tuesday at Raven's Grille. We're more likely to visit for breakfast, however. Unless it's a holiday or there's some golf event letting out, it's typically pretty quiet here at Texas Star Golf Course's little restaurant and bar. It's also literally, audibly quiet -- the floors are carpeted and the ceilings are padded. The usual clientele is an older, quieter crowd and the decor is western-y. The menu is super affordable Texas comfort food: chicken fried steak, fried catfish, burgers, quesadillas, pot roast... they've got several salads and sides and fried appetizers. Plus there's a full bar! We visited recently for breakfast and everything was great. Winnie had scrambled eggs, I had fried eggs and bacon, and Jon had something I can't remember followed by fluffy biscuits that smelled soooo good. We both had a spicy brunch Bloody Mary, yum. And after breakfast we were able to explore the building with Winnie (the restaurant is attached to offices and conference rooms, etc.). It's been years since I've been to this place.I believe last time I was here I got the really big chicken fried steak.Which I didn't care for too much.It was basically all breading and the meat was really tough.Well today they redeemed theirselves.we started off with the chicken wings which were really good. They were really crispy the way I like and had a little spice to it.Then my wife had the crab cakes with some kind of corn salad with it.She loved it.Then I had the club sandwich which was delicious with their hand breaded onion rings.It only comes with three but that's all you need because they are pretty big.Overall a great experience.Not to mention the waitress was friendly and took care of us.Can't wait to go back and try their breakfast.The waitress said their breakfast is really good.Also their prices are pretty reasonable.I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Had a chance to come here for a meeting last month. I've never heard of Raven's Grille and it's off the beaten path. However, very nice place. So we were in a large room. It's the dining room for a golf course. No membership was required to eat there. I saw reviews for the CFS and decided on the smaller portion. Thankfully! I can't imagine eating the large portion. The server came out pretty quick and I was pretty impressed when I saw the plate. Loved the white gravy and the CFS was very good. Not a huge fan of the fried zucchini but it was ok. read more

We used to love breakfast at Raven's Grill, but I guess, all good things must come to an end. The menu has been shortened, the portions have been reduced, and the quality of service has declined. Today, we were seated immediately with only 3 other tables being occupied. Then we waited for quite some time while the waitress spent time visiting with another customer discussing her life and other personal items. When finally placing our order, my wife declined any bread and was offered a bowl of fruit, instead. the fruit was either previously frozen or just old. We got our check and discovered a $1.95 charge for the bad fruit. A good waitress should have told us about the up charge. read more

Hmm, it's a shame to see a place like this go downhill so significantly. We used to eat here every weekend at one point. The selling point was their excellent prices, solid food and great patio overlooking the golf course. Not to mention consistently good service by a seasoned staff. Their dining room is reminiscent of a 1980s nursing home cafeteria and their sun room isn't a whole lot better. However, we always sat on the patio, so not a problem. Suddenly, we started coming in and being told that due to staffing or "weather" (on beautiful days, mind you), they weren't seating on the patio. Keep in mind their patio is about 20 steps from their dining room and 5 steps from their sun room. So it's no additional work versus sitting inside. In addition, a lot of the long standing staff has since left and the newer staff members can be between uninterested and flat out rude. This morning, we walked in and asked to sit on the patio at which point, the host rolled his eyes and said they weren't seating outside. Ok, we walked out and probably won't be back. read more

We attended the Mother's Day Brunch, the Easter Bruch was much better! The chicken fried steak was dry & uneatable! First off, I asked to be seated closer to the food because of my 91 year old dad who uses a cane & I requested a certain server and we didn't get her! Pork loin was dry, scrambled eggs were great! Biscuits were cold, as were the pancakes! Carrots were not cooked! Desserts were excellent especially the key lime pie & German chocolate cake. Still love this spot, although we don't get to come by here too much. We came for breakfast last weekend, and got breakfast tacos with a waffle to split with coffee and soda, and it was just super affordable, y'all. They may not be gourmet, but they do know how to make some comfort food! They also had masks on their servers, sanitzer as you come in, and the table were perfectly spaced so that every one felt safe. I'm going to hate myself for writing this review. Raven's Grill seems to not be very well known and that's a huge shame, but great for me, personally. I get amazing food at an even more amazing price! If everyone finds out about RG, there'll probably be long lines and higher prices because the food is GREAT. Being a native Texan, I am VERY picky about chicken fried steak and RG's is one of the best I've had in the last ten years. Their wait staff is incredibly friendly and I feel like Norm from Cheers when I walk in the front door. Parking is a bit limited, so on days featuring great weather, there may be many golfers parked there. There is a small section of the parking lot reserved for RG's diners, but these days people have very little concern for other people or rules. Back to the food: I've also had their mashed potatoes, french fries and fried okra. All were wonderful, but if you're a fried okra fan, you're going to love RG's. None of these foods seem to have been sitting under a heat lamp. The crust on the steak is still crispy and almost too hot to eat, when it first arrives at the table. Speaking of crust, unlike many restaurants that serve chicken fried steak, there was meat in almost every single bite. When I have lunch at Raven's Grill, I skip breakfast (too have as much available "room" as possible and I never have dinner afterward because I've stuffed myself to the gills. I've enjoyed this restaurant periodically for 30 years. The food is always good. But sadly, the service has consistently been poor. I don't know if it's because this restaurant is run by thr City of Euless or just has poor management. We visited Sunday 1/28, about 14-15 people, and the manager was pretty unhappy we all wanted to sit together. Only one person was assigned to wait on us. When our drinks were brought, the waiter told us he didn't know what what Coke, Dr Pepper, sweet tea or unsweet. Seems to have had a negative attitude. When it was time for our checks, we had to wait 30-40 minutes. Apparently our waitress left or went on a long break. We heard the manager indicate to someone to get her and finally saw her again. What was almost a decent lunch party turned into a tiresome almost-3-hour event. Is there no way to get some good management at Ravens Grille? And maybe drink refills - just once? Thanks. read more

I gotta say that Hannah Joy had some excellent wait service. She's was super up beat and positive. Came for lunch with some future colleagues. They eat here all the time. They knew what they wanted, while I on the other hand had no clue. I ended with tortilla soup and chicken wings. The food is soooooo fresh! The soup was great, seasoned well. The vegetables were hearty and cooked so good that they were soft but not mushy. The chicken wings were big and served with toasted covered with bleu cheese. I was not a fan of the toast. Bleu Cheese as we all know had a strong robust flavor and that alone with the toast was not good, even adding some meat from the wings wasn't to much of a change, but those wings! This place is definitely a hidden gem that is really good. We started off with the onion rings, and they were BIG!! The horseradish sauce was a nice touch. They are known for their chicken fried steak, someone at the table ordered the double chicken fried steak. Wow! That thing was bigger than our heads, but I had to sample it. It was pretty good, melted in your mouth good. I ordered the grilled chicken asada wrap with sweet potato fries. The chicken was not dry and had a ton of flavor. Chicken tenders and fried catfish were ordered at the table, they were both really good. The fried okra was a bit on the greasy side. Our service was really good. I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area because prices were decent. We all were so full that we all took food home with us. Shhhh... don't tell too many people about this great lunch spot with a view in Euless! This restaurant overlooks a gorgeous green golf course, a nice change of scenery from the surrounding suburban spawl. Don't panic if you drive up and see a jam-packed parking lot - most of the vehicles belong to golfers, and it doesn't necessarily mean there's a long wait to eat. Pull into one of the close-in parking spaces reserved for Raven's Grille customers. The double-barrel chicken fried steak sounds like a classic Texas lunch, and it's fun to watch everyone gape as the beast is dropped off at your table like the brontosaurus burger in the Flintstones. Other than the wow factor, though, I'm not a big fan, as the breading is way too thick for me. I do enjoy almost all of their other entries, however, such as the great lunch salads - get the Texas size if you're hungry and the Star size if you want just a small bite. Crab cake sliders are fantastic. Choose the fried okra for your side if it's available with your meal. Did I mention the great view? You can even eat on the outdoor patio if it's a nice day. I've been going to Raven's Grille for a long time and it's been delivering great food and beverage continuously. I usually go for Sunday Brunch and it's crowded with the church crowd. There is always TVs going with some kind of sports being broadcast. The brunch menu is very good and the bloody mary's are fantastic (and cheap - $3). The place is owned and run by the City of Euless and you wouldn't expect for it to be as good as it is...GO, you won't be disappointed. Now...if the Grille is reading this...how about adding Chicken and Waffles to the brunch menu? See all ya'll there...Oh and for special days (Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, etc) you HAVE to make reservations or you don't get seated. I tried last Mother's day and didn't get far at all.
