We were expecting it, but it's still very hard because he's been a part of our lives for so long. My Goldendoodle was crying and searching for him so I hopped in the car and we came here, not realizing that this is the same bakery I used to take Max to. The owner handed him a treat which he sniffed, but didn't take. I let him pick out some Puppy Yogurt that I was told is made with Goats Milk and gentle on their tummies. He picked the Peanut Butter Banana flavor. I went to pay and realized I'd left my purse in the car and by this time was beginning to tear up. I explained our reason for the trip and showed her photos of our buddy Max. She then suggested I get a photo of my other day, but he was too busy with all his emotions I believe and in the end I just gave him a hug. Payment for our goodies was refused and after our goodbye and promise we'd return we were on our way. It was an excellent place for us to spend part of a difficult day.

I stopped in looking for a pet carrier for my cat. I was greeted right away and the staff person…read morewas super friendly. They only had two to choose from so I wasn't sure. My cat had broken 2 others already, trying to escape on trips to the vet. I mentioned that I was looking for something escape-proof and he let me browse, but let me know that I could bring it back and they would work with me if it didn't work. Even though it was expensive, I'm happy to report that it did work and I got my cat to the vet and back without any escapes. Even the vet was impressed because it had a little zipper top so you can reach your hand in to pet your cat and help keep them calm. I'm not sure it that feature is for the cat or the human, but it made me feel better too. I didn't browse anything else, but it looked like they offered lots of healthy-focused pet foods. They also had a table with adorable dog biscuits by the checkout. It's a small store overall, but it's very convenient if you're shopping at the nearby Kroger like I was.

The staff here is always very welcoming and friendly. They greet you as you come in the door, they help you out with things you need to find, and how to use the washing system. The place is nice and open, not too crowded lots of options all over the place, which makes my dog wander around, smelling everything, but most of it is not able to be, eaten on the spot. Everyone that seems to go there is very polite and make sure to keep control of their pets. While I was there three other people washed their dogs and everybody seemed to walk away happy especially the puppies that walked out with a treat at the end. It was much easier than at home to wash the dog (no mess) and with the food, treats, accessories for your pet, it really makes it a nonstop shop in a pretty good location.

The tail was not matted, and I told her I did not want the tail shaved and to just leave it alone and not trim it at all. She yelled at me, "Come get your dog now!" She actually threw my dog out just because I told her not to trim my dog's tail. This extreme inflexibility and hostility toward me and the fact that they now require clients to book their pets no more than 8 weeks apart, are conclusive evidence that this business does not prioritize customer desires and needs. I'm glad I found out what these people are like. My dog deserves better. I would give this business a minus rating if I could. The owner of Bark at the Moon gave a hostile and unprofessional response to my review and is further proof that this business is not interested in understanding or resolving problems. Here is my response: You have been waiting for my review? I'll bet you HAVE been because you aren't businesspeople. You are bullies! The fact that you want to argue about this proves that you do not know how to run a business. There are so many untruths and exaggerations in your response. How I spoke to YOU? On the phone, you brusquely stated that you were going to shave my dog's tail. You didn't ask whether I approved or offer to discuss it. I tried to let you off the hook by saying don't trim her tail at all. You then yelled at me to come get my dog and hung up the phone. Your demeanor was unacceptable. There was no previous warning or discussion about matting (I had been a customer for more than a year), and I would never have accepted a future appointment with you had I received such a threat that you would shave my dog. I brush my dog regularly, and her tail was not matted. The fact is you don't know how to deal with a Bichon's cottony, fine fur. You say you don't brush out a tail you consider matted (it was NOT matted). I didn't ask you to brush it or do anything to it. I said don't touch the tail. Don't trim it at all! But you didn't let it rest at that. Instead, you threw my dog out. I did NOT swear at any employee. After you called me, I came back expecting to pick up my dog without incident, and your husband, whom you had called in while I was on my way, greeted me in a belligerent manner, ordered me to pay for an unfinished grooming, and threatened to call the police. It is not your place to judge customers on how they care for their pets, especially when you don't know what you're talking about. Your last statement that you will not do what the owner wishes if it will harm the pet (based of course on your opinion only), says all one needs to know about you. I told you NOT to trim her tail at all, so I did not ask you to do anything that could harm her. Surely even your confused mind can understand that not touching her tail does no harm.

The ladies were very professional and you could tell they were very knowledgeable in every aspect of caring for our pets as well as training and grooming. Perfect on the car ride home, minimal whining when crated, perfect on a leash, very gentle with our grandson - completely calm around loud noises, such as the thunder we experienced this morning. As far as the negative reviews, all I can say is the current owner, Chris, is the farthest thing from what people say about the old owner. He was passionate about the dogs, extremely patient with my wife and me - answering all our questions, including any "negatives" that may impact our decision. All the dogs we saw were happy, well-behaved, and energetic. The store and training room were both very clean. We could not be happier with our puppy, or our experience with Von Dietrich.
