Ray Lighting has competitive pricing and great selection. I have worked with Luba for several years on 3 home projects. She knows each brand and their colors, sizes, and offerings and quickly found the exact look I wanted at my price point. Most importantly, she returns calls and follows up quickly. Due to the supply chain issues my order was delayed a bit and Luba promptly contacted me to inform me as this was critical for my project completion. I will be a Ray Lighting customer for life! Unfortunately, I must give this shop a one star review. I say unfortunately because it is a very nice looking store with some beautiful light fixtures. However, let me warn you that everything on display must be ordered. That is not the problem in itself, but what they do is hold orders and withhold shipping from the manufacturer making it a 4-6 week overall time to get your fixtures. And, they will not tell you that prior to leaving your deposit. Not surprising, because why would you order fixtures from them knowing that? If there was a legitimate reason that fixtures actually took that long, it would be understandable, but these are fixtures that the manufacturer has in stock now. Fixtures you could order online and get in a few days, or go to a local light store and have in stock. Ray's lighting, this is a very unethical way of doing business. And, no matter how many years you have been in business, you need to change your business model to be successful in the future. read more

I have bought many lighting fixtures and mirrors over the years at Ray Lighting, and every experience has been perfect. Recently, we renovated several bathrooms, and Vanessa at the Novi location helped with everything. Vanessa provided excellent recommendations, competitive pricing, and the best customer service. I just placed my third order at Ray's because we were extremely satisfied the first two times. Staff is patient and helpful, and the showroom has a good variety of options at a range of prices. This time I ordered something I saw on the website that they did not have in the store. I was told 7-10 days and expect that will be true. read more

I really enjoyed working with the store and with Luba directly for an under and above kitchen cabinet lighting project. It was a pleasant experience. However, the store recommended an electrician that did not do good work. This electrician left 4 holes in my walls without indicating he was not going to fill the holes, I am still trying to get an invoice for the paid work, he did not re-install 2 cabinet trim pieces he took down, he did not have the correct parts and I had to make a special drive to the store to pick these up and then he expected me to pay for them and he installed electrical transformers under my dishwasher where there is visible, previous water damage. I had to pay for multiple hours of cleanup to restore this project to the quoted job. I realize the store is not responsible for his errors, however, they are responsible for who they recommend. read more

We are building a new home and worked with Ray Lighting for the fixtures for the entire home. It was a great experience. They were extremely helpful with all the different options available in lighting today. We placed our order and they stored the order for a couple of months and then delivered the order right to our new home. I would absolutely recommend them if you are buying for your entire home or just a single fixture. I know we will be placing an additional order in the near future for some additional exterior lights and I know the experience with be a good one. read more

I must warn you against using Ray's Lighting in Novi. The prices are fair, but the service is really and truly terrible. We ordered a fixture and placed the deposit, and called back a few days later, only to find that the order was filed, but never actually ordered. In other words, they took our money and did not actually order the product. The employee we worked with claimed she forgot to make the order. She called back saying that instead of the 4-6 weeks of waiting promised, our fixture would not arrive until October! So beware if you are planning to use Ray's, and check up on the status of your order frequently. We are having them return our money today. read more

I love this place. They have high quality, elegant, modern lighting that I compared at other lighting shops and found they were easily 15-20% below their retail prices. They also saved me by locating a piece of a fixture (my son broke off while throwing a football in the house) I bought from them 17 yrs ago. Instead of having to replace the entire fixture (which was almost $300) they ordered and told me how to fix the existing one. The part only cost $21.98. Now that kind of service is why I am such a loyal customer to this day. I have always gotten my fixtures either on the spot or within 3 days from the warehouse. Again, it's well wort it if you want your lighting to be a real accent price in your home. If you do don't care much about your fixtures and just want quick and cheep, run to Lowes or Home Depot. read more
