First time here at Dark Horse! I had seen a TikTok with the Red Light District pairing (Martini and Focaccia) and had to try it. The server was knowledgeable and attentive. The staff felt cohesive and the focaccia was a real stand out. Next time- I will go back to a dirty martini as I am not the biggest dill fan. Can't wait to try the house made burger next time.

So Dark Horse has become one of my local favorites as of the last few months. They have been going through some menu changes with the introduction of a new chef. I got the Cheese Nachos on their happy hour menu, which is from 3-5:30 Tuesday - Friday. I added the pulled pork to it. I paid $13 for this during happy hour, and usually this would run $18 during dinner. It was a great deal! Their menu has been evolving with some great flavors, and the service and vibes of the restaurant are on point as well. I would recommend anyone to take their friends and family here!

I met up with some friends before the baseball game. I'm glad we met up at this restaurant, across the street from the parking lot, and they're open again. I came to this restaurant last year and they were closed. The menu offers mixed fusion with asian flavors. Inside the restaurant is colorful, mural on the wall, gold color booths, and plants hung. My server was cool, told us about happy hour specials and gave us recommendations.

Excellent service. Good food. The chicken sandwich, the Dark House burger, the pizza and wings. All good. Got a table right away for 6. Nice staff. Chill.

I'm not sure if this is seasonal, or adjusting to the perceived market, but the menu has changed since I visited earlier this year (soon after reopening). Gone were a number of the creative items. Instead the menu resembles more of a typical bar- mostly pizzas and burgers. At least they kept the shishito peppers on the menu. My beet and whipped tofu salad was excellent, but the potato croquettes were just bland It also appears they downgraded the low and no alcohol portion of drink menu as well. Our experience was good- but I am sad about the changes. Just feels more like just another bar restaurant

Loved our happy hour date night here! We stopped in after another event and it was conveniently located just a couple of blocks from CHS Field. Ambiance is modern and casual, I especially enjoyed the various large leafed plants near the windows. Amazing service from our waiter, despite a very busy night full of customers. He offered great suggestions since I haven't eaten here before, checked in on us frequently and was just friendly and professional the entire time. Food was pretty good (4/5), but not amazing. But my cocktail (5/5) was phenomenal! I recommend ordering the Dark Horse Burger, and the Wonderous Punch Bar Pairing - it's a rum cocktail whimsically served in a Kikoman soy sauce bottle, plus a small appetizer of cream cheese wontons.

It's cool to see how they remodeled the space. I've been here one other time when it was more of a dive bar summer '24. It's a bit more fancier now. We were attending an event nearby and needed food. They have a few hh offerings which is nice. I think all the food items are $10 and some drink specials. They also have the full menu of course. The menu generally looks good. We had a child with us and he was being a bit picky but settle for wings and fries (no kids menu, which is fine!, definitely a space for the more mature crowd). I got cheesy garlic bread, wontons and ordered the wondrous punch which came in a soy sauce bottle and 3 wontons. The food overall was good and I'd definitely stop by again if in the area. Decor is super cute as well. Service was a tad bit slow at some points but it did get busier as the dinner hours approached. They did have tvs over by the bar but they weren't on. You could see bobs burger playing in the brewery next door via the window reflections, lol.

What a fun place! We came here to pre game for the Saints game The place is clean, and welcoming. Shout out to Cody, who pulled double duty as bartender and waiter! Super friendly, and attentive and we all appreciated his humor and recommendations. They have a small but enjoyable menu. The hits on our foray here, was there ceasar salad ..liked the cucumbers in the salad. The margarita pizza was wonderful! Followed by their smash burgers....I always appreciate if one can get fried onions. Totally coming back here again.

Great atmosphere, service, and food! We stopped for happy hour after work with coworkers and everyone enjoyed the drinks and apps equally. The sauce that comes with the peppers is incredible, and it was a nice change to have something other than ketchup for the fries. We all loved the margarita pizza, a perfect sharable option if you're trying a few apps. Street parking (metered) is available, and although West 7th can be busy, there were plenty of open spaces on the side streets.

Another gem located in the Lowertown neighborhood of Saint Paul! They offer a variety of different foods and drinks but our new favorite is the wood-fire pizza! We love the neighboring brewery Barrel Theory and would often order food for pickup to take next door. Recently they knocked a hole in the wall between the two businesses and added QR codes to order so we no longer have to walk out to pick it up! Super convenient and we love neighborly love! Staff is friendly and service was quick!

I went here for a wing event and enjoyed myself. Street parking, pretty easy to find. Fun bar atmosphere with a friendly staff. Quick service, food came out really fast, I think because the wings might have been premade for the event. I wish they were made to order but I understand with the demand. Tried a bunch of wings, a couple sides and drinks. It was a good experience. Sadly as of the time I am reviewing, they are set to close their doors in 9 days, so great time to check them out before they go.

Was excited to see this place was back open under new management. Sadly the food wasn't what we were hoping for. I had the dark horse burger and it was too salty to eat. The fries were delicious! Husband had the pep pizza and the pepperoni's were also super salty and overall the pizza was greasy and lacking in flavor. Service was decent. Will likely try again as we love the location and will hope for a better outcome.

A friend and I decided to make a trip here and well another wonderful experience at Dark Horse. This place never disappoints and the food has always been good. The service this time was fantastic and the Prosecco was ice cold. The pizza was a solid 5/5. The Bang bang shrimp I give a 4/5 it was good but the Bang Bang sauce was not the best I have had on my travels but the best I have had in the area for sure. The chips and queso were very good and had an amazing creamy texture that left me wanting more. 5/5. The staff is always kind and friendly and a wonderful place to come hang out. I generally get their wing but decided to try other things.

A few notes to set the scene I went today for lunch on a lovely 70 degree Spring day after getting a haircut across the street to check some work emails, grab a beer and quick lunch to go order. Full disclosure: I'm slightly biased bc I grew up about a mile away and just moved home recently, so any cool vibey place in the old neighborhood has a special place in my heart. That said, it has a very cozy/hip neighborhood feel and understated sophistication for what is a pretty residential and quiet area of St Paul The 5/5 elements... Scott (who I think may be the owner?) is super cool, was serving/tending bar and running around to manage the patio while chatting me up & giving great recs on beer/food based on my half hearted description while I multi tasked on work nonsense. Awesome guy, and reason enough to check this place out The vibe/softly playing music and entrancing Twin Cities flyover footage playing in the background on the TV at the bar was oddly soothing Ordered brisket tacos, brussels sprouts, and fried chicken sandwich for myself + a friend to go. Yamahama, I'm not gonna cheat and double check the menu, but the brussels have a delicious umami flavor from either duck fat or facsimile that perfectly balances the acid from the balsamic/vinegar situation. Fried chicken sandwich is a KILLER, highly recommend. I have been here two times in the last week and lemme tell ya.. this is quite the spot. I do suggest making a reservation because everytime I go here it is popping! What a vibey place, the lights aren't too bright, it gives a hip, fun, light energy and is not too pretentious but has INCREDIBLE FOOD AND DRINKS. Right now, one of their specials is whitefish toast.. if you enjoy fish at all, you need this. The fish is light and fresh, they put fresh dill on top and it is placed on top of some toasted sourdough bread perfectly. The fish is flavorful, a lil earthy and I feel as if there are capers or olives in in the fish mixture, whatever it is is fire! The burrata, beets, and citrus is a nice lovely, fresh, light app, the burrata is perfection with the beets and fresh, juicy citrus, drizzled with some oil and random pieces of garlic mixed in, YUM. I suggest ordering bread on the side with this one! The wings here are a staple and always delish. Crispy, hot, and coated perfectly in a light sweet chili sauce.. they hit the spot everytime. The housemade ranch is a perfect dipper. The other day I tried the chorizo and scallops... oh my goodness gracious.. it was a lil spicy and creamy with the bean puree and the scallops were buttery, light and divine! 10 outta 10 would do again. Finally, got the goat cheesecake, gluten free ginger snap crust with poached pears. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I want this now and in every lifetime! The cheesecake was light, yet decadent, deep, creamy with a light, unassuming flavor. The crust was delicious and the poached pears added that perfect fruit component. I got Liam as my server both times, he was helpful, attentive, had good suggestions when asked questions and didn't interrupt at all, amazing! This is the spot for any occasion!

Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Patatas bravas, tequenos, and rompe colchon were excellent. I mean mouth wateringly amazing. Shrimp in the rompe colchon was cooked PERFECTLY and the balance of the sour leche de tigre and mango made the dish interesting for the palate. Broccolini side dish was also cooked perfectly and the cheese foam gave a unique twist to the side dish. I ordered the bollitos pelones and OH MY GOODNESS. Francis Burger Joint is a fully plant-based (vegan) restaurant which also has plenty of gluten free…read moreoptions! It is a casual spot with ample seating. They have QR codes on each table so you can order on your phone, and they have WiFi available. Alternatively, someone can take your order if you'd prefer! For the burgers, you can choose between the impossible patty or the black bean patty. For the chicken sandwiches, you can choose grilled or fried vegan chicken. For beverages, they have cocktails, mocktails, wine, beer, THC drinks, milkshakes, pop, lemonade, and more! There are so many options which is great! The fries are crispy! One of my friends went with the ranch fries which were good, but in my opinion it was not worth the $2 upcharge for the amount of seasoning that comes on them. I would recommend sticking with the regular fries and ordering a side of ranch as a dipping sauce instead! This is the only place that I'm aware of where you can get a vegan juicy lucy! It is very cheesy, and it's fun that there's a meatless version of a MN classic! It was messy to eat though so make sure to have a napkin nearby! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and would go back! I think it's be a great place for hanging out with friends, especially if there are any vegans or vegetarians in the group!
