So I drove my car in for service under warranty, they tell me 3 days, they had my car for almost 2 weeks, no one ever called me to keep me informed on what was going on (they put used parts on my car after waiting 2 weeks) , after picking my vehicle up, they have to jump it, tell me to drive it & it should start, the next morning I have to get a jump, they tell me I can pay $180 for a new battery & they will install for free. Yes I have music in my car which has been in for months, they say they didn't do ANYTHING with or to the battery, I go to my trunk where the battery is placed & my trunk isn't even put together correctly where they have taking the spare tire out to get to the battery. I bought a 2019 Buick encore at the Buick store in greenwood and after being in it for 12 days I realized that it did not fit for our family lifestyle. They went above and beyond for me and my family and we are actually going back in 2 weeks for my husband to get a new car. Ray Skillman Chevrolet definitely earned our business. They were so understanding and helpful. They are so nice and not pushy at all. A lot of sales people and lenders can be pushy or cocky but not Jaime and Derek! I called last week and advised the dealership that I would like to bring my car in for a recall. I also advised that I had two tires that were problematic. One had an impact bubble and the other was losing air pressure. I also advised that I had a tire warranty. I was told that I could bring the car in on Thursday or Friday and that the repair would take a couple of hours. I arrived at approximately 7:35 am and was asked what the issue was, I again advised that I was there for a recall and had two tires that needed replacement. I showed the service representative that there was an impact bubble in the front driver side tire and advised that the rear driver side tire was losing pressure. I again advised that that I had a tire warranty. I was told that they didn't keep tires in stock, but that the car would be ready in a couple of hours. I walked across the street to a restaurant and had breakfast and returned at about 9:00 am. At about 9:45 am a service representative approached me and told me that I they had completed the the recall work, but that it would be two more hours to replace the tires and, by the way, would I like to buy to tires, at a cost of $350.00, since they were not the same brand as the new ones would be, and that this might effect my gas mileage. I declined and inquired why the tires had not been replaced earlier. I was again told that they didn't keep the tires in stock and they had to get them. I asked why the tires hadn't been ordered when I arrived at 7:35 am and I was told that they had been waiting for "approval." I asked why approval was not sought at the time I brought the car in. No good explanation was forthcoming. It is now nearly 11:00 am and I am still waiting. I am planning on asking what I could have done to avoid this problem. I am a believer in personal responsibility and if there is something I could have done other than call a week before and advise them of the issue, arrive at shortly after they opened and advise them of the issue, I would really like to know... If you want condescending false promises then "come on down." My brand new truck has been in there for work 5 times in 9 months and I feel like I'm in a Farris wheel. They forget to call you back while you wait by the phone for an answer. The forth time I was there they had to buff my bumper because of what appeared to be a foot mark in it. Tell me they will contact me with information about getting issues resolved, while I drive around a truck that has no a/c no engine temperature gauge, and a engine fan going Mach 3, that was replace two weeks before, and the relay a week before that. They promised and swore that they could give me so much of a better deal if I came cancelled the deal and came in to talk to them. I tried to purchase a Chevy Bolt at this dealership. Once I realized that they had no interest in a fair deal, and decided to leave . However, I couldn't get my car key back. I had to ask several times, at least five, before it was returned to me. As we negotiated, they kept ADDING to the price. Including the nonsense charges added on as 'standard paperwork'. Items I was led to believe were included during my initial visit, were not. They claimed to be able to match the price of the USAA car buying service, but this was a lie. I've purchased vehicles using this service before, and always received the price quoted. Ray needs to give a potential customer their key back the first time they ask. Also, when a potential customer says that they only have an hour, try to respect that. If you can't meet the offer, just be up front. They've created ill will, and I've shared my experience with co-workers, family, and friends. I'm going to purchase an electric car this year, but it won't be from here. read more

BEWARE!! We were NEVER told about any fees that were going to be charged to us at the end of a lease. Now we are penalized $395. for not purchasing another car from Ray Skillman immediately. There is no doubt that we would have eventually bought another car from this dealership but in NO WAY will we do that after being treated this way. From the very beginning we were not happy. We told the dealership exactly what car that we wanted right down to the trim package and color. They did not have one in stock and assured us that they would find one right away. Well, 3 days later there were no results so we spent a whole 30 minutes tracking the exact car that we wanted at another dealership on the other side of town. What took them more than 3 days we did in 30 minutes . We also turned in a vehicle that was 5,000 miles UNDER the lease agreement miles, not a dent or scratch, the inside was SPOTLESS, I even paid to have the car professionally detailed before turning it back in. The original floor mats were still wrapped in the original packaging and in the trunk unused (we always used our own weather tech floor mats - that we left in the car apon return). We did replace 1 tire and not all 4. At $450+ a piece do you blame me? And now they say we still owe them $765?!?! Even though I DO NOT agree with the "Disposition Fee" I may have been a little more enclined to pay it without much grumble but now thay are charging me over $300 for turning in a near perfect car. I purchased a brand new vehicle from this location and have always taken it back to this location for all warranty, tire rotations, oil changes, and any other maintenance. The staff have always been very friendly, helpful, and accommodating as much as possible. They also wash my truck for free every time I stop in. They are sometimes busy and you may have to wait an hour or more for service if you just walk in without an appointment. But the nice part is they always give me a loaner truck for free to drive if I need to go anywhere. When I am there walking around the showroom waiting on my vehicle to get ready several of the sales people always approach me to see if I need any help. Even driving around the lot they will walk out and stop me asking if I am looking to purchase a vehicle. When it is time to trade in my vehicle this will be the first place I check to find a trade and a great deal. So far my experience with them has been excellent. But I understand that may not always be the case for all the customers. Thier lot and show room is full of many Chevy trucks, Corvettes, Camaros, Impalas, and other new and used vehicles. My Experience: I have been less than pleased with my last couple visits. This time, I had some work done on my sidemarker light and left turn signal. I did not realize until after I left the dealership that my left mirror was shattered and the surround was scuffed up badly during the repair. I called the dealership immediately and was told the mirror would be replaced. I think the whole side mirror assembly should be replaced. I was extremely disappointed that my van was given back to me with this damage and that I will have to take time out of my busy schedule to return the van. Although an apology was made and it will be fixed, the reason this happened is unclaimed. It seems obvious to me that somebody struggled to access the sidemarker lamp and broke the mirror. Then, they did not report it, putting the burden back on the customer. I will avoid returning to this Ray Skillman as much as possible. read more

After complaining on Facebook about my experience with this dealership I got a return call today. I bought an as is 2013 huyunda from them. It had scratches. Peeling door frame and holes in front bumper which I knew would not be fixed ( as is) I was told car inside would be cleaned. When I picked up car there was vomit on passenger door and soda in backseat cup holders again I did not complain. This car does not even have new license plates I have had it such a short time. I have put less than 1000 miles on it. It died in drive way yesterday. Called this dealership not to have them replace car but at the very last offer to tow and look at it. I got treated like I was a fool. I should know as is. Too bad so sad reaction. I let y dissatisfaction be known on Facebook. So today dealership calls afte car is towed and in a garage to be fixed. Dealership says they will tow it to them and fix for cheaper than quote I got. They want me to take business away from somebody who reacted quickly to fix a problem and did not offer to pay for current tow or diagnostics the other garage did. I would give a zero if possible. Drove 3 hours to look at a vehicle, proceeded to draw up a sales contract and headed out the door with contract in hand to get financing. I made it clear I had financing and was just weighing the interest rates. This was on Tuesday, I attempted to email, call, text Heath (salesman) and Derek (financing) with no response on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning to tell them I would be up on Saturday with the check to pick up the car. Finally, Friday afternoon, Heath texts me to tell me they sold the car on Wednesday afternoon and no one had told me. They sold the car right out from under me with no contact. Then told me, sorry there's nothing we can do about it. I will never do business with any Ray Skillman associated branches again. Ever. I suggest you don't either. I usually have an okay experience at this location. However, the 1 out of 3 times that leaves a bad taste in my mouth is what I'm writing a review on. First off I was told the service would be completed in 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. After 2 1/2 hours I was given my bill. Okay, so they're running behind today, it happens. Next, I was originally told one price and it ended up being more with little explanation. "Misc" charges indeed! It was only $8 but given the total experience being reviewed, that $8 is just more bad taste in my mouth. I was approached mid way through my waiting time and told that I needed a caliper and hose in addition to the brake pads and rotors needing to be machined. The big gotcha is when they said this would cost an additional $324! Are you kidding me?! I mentioned to the guy helping me that this was an enormous charge for a caliper and he just shrugged. $186 for front brake pads to be changed is already extremely high. It's my fault for not finding out the total before my truck was lifted up, so I begrudgingly agreed to the total. Mind you, for $40-50 I can buy ceramic pads and do the job myself in under 30 minutes. I was charged $100 for labor. Holy crap! To then be told that a caliper (which is already being handled due to brake pads being changed) is going to cost $324 additional dollars is a huge slap in the face. Brand new, the caliper is $50. A new nose is $30. There is literally 5-10 minutes of work involved since you're already doing the brakes. In what world is that not thievery? At a minimum this is intellectually dishonest to even think this is a "fair" price for this type of service. $510 total for front brakes and one caliper. Wow. I've never done any review of a company online, but this is fair warning to get a second quote before dealing with this company. I've had positive experiences with them in the past but this is beyond the realm of being a sincere pricing model. They are only getting a second star since my past experiences have been okay. Consumer beware. They are planning on you being ignorant to their maneuvers. read more

As a matter of fact, the service guy I dealt with told me I would be out of here in under an hour. After 3 hours I am still here waiting for some simple replacements that just pop in. I WILL NEVER GO TO A RAY SKILLMAN LOCATION, EVER, AGAIN! After poor experiences at a different location we were hesitant to give the Chevrolet location a shot, but they had the (used) car we wanted for the right price so we reluctantly went with it. We were relieved and thought our fears were unfounded when the dealership was GREAT to work with while shopping and purchasing. Well that was true, but after the sale? Not so much. We received the application for title exactly 21 days after purchasing, given the BMV's schedule that gave us a window of 5 days to go to the BMV to register, this is more of just an eye roll and annoyance of them slacking. But the really frustrating part... After over 5 weeks, the bank who financed our vehicle has yet to receive any paperwork from the dealership. Based on the date we signed the loan documents and the signed for the first payment to begin, our payment is now late. The bank will not allow us to make a payment because they have no information on the loan. Yet the bank told us they have to go by the dates on the paperwork (WHEN) they receive it. Thanks a lot Skillman. I don't care what the circumstance is I will never go to a Ray Skillman location again! read more

Have been treated very well, and all issues taken care of by this dealer, everyone we have dealt with has been courteous and explained/answered any questions we have asked. Most recent was an undercoating job done by Ziebart. It was not done properly (many places not done), I returned my truck to Skillmans and they sent t back to be properly finished and provided me with a vehicle. When they got it back, my service rep checked it and had them take it back a 3rd time to be done right before even calling me. I will go get my truck friday. My family has been using this dealer for several years, and they will get our business all the time. Sales and finance departments also very good. Highly recommend checking this dealer when purchasing a vehicle. This will be the only dealer that works on our vehicles, I had a closer dealer lie to me and they will never get our business again. I give the sales staff 5 stars! I went in last week to buy my car that I leased from them several years ago. They were very helpful and answered all of my questions. The fees at the end of the lease were extremely reasonable, basically there were none (except tax etc.), (some dealers can charge $600-$800 extra for the lease buyout). The reason its not a 5 star review is, once you get in the finance department, Make sure you use your Calculator when figuring out the cost of the Extended Warranty. The cost in my case was going to be $6436 extra for my 2013 Equinox w/ 47,000 miles to get an additional 5 years, but they way the presented it was very misleading: "its only going to cost you $1.87 cents per day for the warranty, then $0.46 cents per day for the GAP coverage and $0.45 cents per day for the tire and wheel coverage, but then they also added 5 months to the payment plan w/ out telling me, making it 77 months instead of 72. So w/ all 3 coverage's, it was going to be $317 a month for 77 months, then I said "no", he lowered it to $294 a month 77 months. I said "no" again, then he said "Do you think its a good idea to buy a used car w/ no warranty?", I said I have owned this car from day one and I don't need a warranty. So then he said "Ok" and my payment dropped to $254 a month for only 72 months. which is a difference of $4500-$6400. Its pretty easy to calculate the extra cost per month, but I'm sure people forget to add the extra 5 months which is an additional $1500 on top of the extra monthly cost. Here are the calculations ($317 a month (payments w/ extended warranty) - 254 a month (my payment w/ no warranty) = $63 extra per month * 77 months = $4851 extra + 5 months extra (77 months vs 72 w/ no warranty) @ 317 a month = $1585 extra , then add $4851 + $1585 =$6436 extra). (w/ the payments @ $294 a month for 77 months its still $4550 extra) The cost of the car buyout was $14,500, who would pay $6436 extra for an extended warranty on a $14,500 car? Its almost like paying for a new engine and transmission ahead of time and paying interest on it. (My interest rate was only 3.25% w/ an 800 credit score and having just purchased another vehicle 2 weeks prior. I do recommend Ray Skillman Chevrolet, but whatever you do, don't buy the extended warranty and you will do fine. The finance guy was very friendly though, as was everyone else there. read more
