Avoid this place at all costs! If this is how they treat a customer before an issue arises, imagine how they'll treat you when you actually need your insurance. We had multiple policies with them, but when our rates increased, we found a much cheaper option elsewhere. Canceling with Chris Tedder was a nightmare--he was rude, unprofessional, and inconsistent. One policy was canceled immediately, but for the other, he delayed the process and snapped at us for following up. When we called the office, he repeatedly told us we were "wasting his time." We tried reaching Ray Sullivan twice to address the issue, but he never bothered to call us back. That says everything about how this office values its customers. When you buy insurance, you expect good service and support. You won't get that here. Stay far away. read more

Not sure why they even have this location. They cannot do anything for you beyond sign you up. It's now 20 days without my car; Allstate refuses to replace two tires ("we'll only pay for one"); their claims adjuster was oblivious to details and careless in her demeanor; when I spoke to main Allstate customer service (because people at this location told me to call since they can't help with claims), the agent was awkward, rude and completely uninterested in helping in any significant way. Do not trust Allstate's hands, they exist to cover your eyes and mouth. I'm going to Statefarm where I will also save money on identical coverage. Blown away by this entire ordeal. read more

Its a family thing for us it seems. My parents used Ray for their insurance needs for years. When I grew up and needed insurance of my own it was easy to simply continue, and as such, this is the only insurance agency I have used. There is simply no reason to go anywhere else. First and foremost, the customer service experience is fantastic. To give you an idea, I have not made an in person visit for at least 4 years. Yet yesterday I walked in and was greeted by name. You cannot beat that. The last time we bough a car, I forgot the insurance papers. I placed a call and within minutes the dealership was faxed a copy and we went on our way. While I have no doubt I could hunt and peck my way to something slightly cheaper but I doubt the customer service would be as good! read more

I have been a customer for a few years now and have always had 10/10 service from Lucas and Reann, especially during the lockdowns in 2020 and 2021. My work was affected by the highly controversial decisions our politicians made, and Lucas and Reann went above and beyond to help maintain my policy in good standing and the communication has been top notch. They've done the best to their ability and have always treated me with kindness and respect and I would recommend this office/team to anyone looking for insurance. I've had different policies with different companies and had okay experiences and some bad ones too where it was hard to receive help or I'd be given the run around with no real explanations to changes in my policies that were not run by me or notified of. Lucas has always set expectations clearly and asked clarifying questions to make sure everything I needed help with was covered. Sometimes that would take days and days to do especially during the pandemic, but they never made me feel like a bother. I transferred my AllState coverage to this Ray Sullivan agency perhaps 3 years ago. The reason? Poor customer service at the old agency. Did Ray Sullivan call me to say thanks for the business for which I will make money for no effort? Nope. They just rake in my money. Recently, I got an outrageously expensive ticket for being in the HOV lane (I live on the Peninsula where, prior to 3pm, all cars have access to the HOV lane. In the East pay at 2:50pm, I entered the HOV lane. When I saw the 24 hour HOV sign, I attempted to go back to the correct lane but could not due to traffic. An officer was off to the side of the cloverleaf and got me. A cash scam for the town). I got a call from an extremely surly assistant at the Sullivan Agency who told me my rates were going up $1,000 a year and that she did not know why. I pressed for her to find out the reason and SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I called back to expressed my annoyance at being hung up on, yes I swore at her rudeness. She informed that she was taking me off auto pay; I demanded a call from the not present Ray Sullivan; she hung up on my again. Two days later, I still have not received a call from the oh-so-busy Ray Sullivan. Obviously, I am looking for coverage elsewhere. So if you want insurance from an agent-based company that charges exorbitant rates and treats you worse than an automated, online carrier, this is this the company and agent you want. I was evacuated during the Northern California Fires and there are no words to say how wonderful my local Allstate office has been (Ray Sullivan), the Allstate Catastrophe Team @Mandy W. in Alabama to the Adjuster @Dan G. All of these parties were like a well orchestrated army. Every detail and question I had was covered. I was put up in a hotel and boarding for my pets were covered. Clean up for my home is now underway with a company named @ServePro which I would also highly recommend. Every single person I've encountered in this process has been wonderful during a very stressful time. I've been with Allstate since I was in my early 20's. I can't say enough good things about Ray Sullivan's office. I don't understand the negative feedback. All I can say is you are in charge of your insurance and your relationship with your local office. Take the time to get to know them, ask specific questions about your policies,to see what your coverage is and if you should consider adjusting it, that way you aren't frustrated with surprises when you do call and don't like the answers. DO NOT USE THIS SLIMY INSURANCE AGENCY. They do not respond to emails. They do not honor policy change requests. They do not cancel policies when asked, and send out renewal notices. They do not take you off mailing lists when requested. They do not ever contact you other than when there is an opportunity for them to make money - i.e. A renewal, or new product offers. A customer should not have to yell to get a response from an organization they are paying. I have moved to State Farm, with an agent who actually gives a damn, and calls to check in and let me know they have a new discount I'm eligible for, essentially taking money out of their own pocket! I've had renter's insurance through this agency since the summer of 2013, and an auto policy with them since summer of 2014. During that time, I have actually been quite impressed with the customer service of my agent there, Luke (I have only ever interacted with Luke, so cannot speak for any other employees). From the beginning, Luke has always been very candid with the quotes and services provided, and has patiently answered all my "what if" questions. Possibly what impresses me the most about Luke is his relentlessness in trying to get me all the possible discounts for my policies. Pretty much every time I update one of my policies, he lets me know what discounts he's trying to apply to my policy. For any issues, updates, or questions I have, Luke generally calls or emails me back within one working day and it gets taken care of ASAP. Fortunately, I've never had to file a claim for either of my policies, so cannot directly comment regarding the other reviewers' negative experiences. I also haven't moved, so haven't had to deal with a change of address. However, based on my past interactions with Luke, I'm sure he'd do everything he could to walk me through the process. read more

This Ray Sullivan agency deserves no star. Don't ever use this agency! I had auto policy and renter's policy with this agency for two years, and during that time, I had numerous problems, like address change did not get registered, or they don't call back when they were supposed to, etc etc etc. Not to mention the attitude I got from time to time. Now that we bought a new house I was going to switch to home owner's insurance from renter's insurance. I only kept this agency because I was lazy to switch to another agency. So this agency called me at 3:45 the day before closing and told me that they were jacking up the premium by more than 10% than what they quoted me three weeks ago!!! Within the next hour I called other insurance agency and luckily, I found a good agency and switched insurance right in time. I did this in one house, which is usually impossible, and I ended up saving more than $400 on auto and home owner's insurance combined. SO even after I stopped using this agency, I am STILL encountering problems like they did not cancel my renter's policy on the date it was supposed to be canceled, or I never received the refund check because they did not update my address (for the second time!) I wish I never used this agency in the first place. read more

Also, Every time my policy renew for my combined auto and renters insurance my rate decreases!!! When I call or stop by someone is always there to help. what a dishonest dealer. My renters insurance did not cover what was lost or stolen in a storage locker even though the said "dont worry" everything is covered. Come to find out, 2 segways worth over 11,000 were not covered because it was on some other declarations page that i never recieved. Stay away from these guys. I am reporting them to the Insurance commissioner in Los Angeles. They should be investigated for providing false and misleading information about their "policies". WORST ever insurance !!! I was in a car accident with one of their customers and took my car to one of their body shops and they totaled my car. They wanted to pay me less than what my car was worth and then return the rental car within 3 day. How am I to find another car when they are taking all cars from me. Now my insurance Erie would have let you keep the rental for 30 days so that you have a way of getting around looking for cars. I was left with nothing but a check and no way of getting another car without bugging friends or renting a car myself for their wrecking and totally my car....then they had the nerve to have bad attitudes. Bait and switch quotes with easy-to-manipulate hidden terms appears to be the standard operating procedure here. Alicia (working on behalf of agent Luke) approached me via email with a quote featuring low rates, I confirmed the specific terms via email, but after I invested several emails and a phone call, she informed me that the quote (which she had just confirmed in writing the day before) was an "error" and she increased the premium by ~20%. I called foul, asked her to stand behind her original quote. She promised to check with the licensed agent (Luke?) the following afternoon. Apparently she couldn't even follow through on that promise...she instead conferred with her "office manager" and refused to honor her original quote without even the courtesy of a return phone call. Zero tolerance for predatory consumer tactics like these. If this is how they handle outbound customer acquisition, I can only imagine how they would attempt to "honor" their customer's claims. read more

Gotta disagree with the other reviews and think they are a little overboard and cranky. I do know that a change of address has to be in writing and so does a canceled premium - so I'm thinking it was the reviewer who neglected to notify Allstate and is just taking it out on the agent. I have been with Travelers for the past 20 yrs. I didn't have a problem with them, but decided to shop around because the economy was killing my bank account. I spoke with Luke at this agency and received nothing but 5 star superior service. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable in insurance and just an all around nice people person. I felt very at home the minute I walked into this office. I was happy then but even happier when Luke told he could save me 700.00 a year! AND I picked up renters insurance which I never had. If you are looking for a nice small town, personal insurance agent, I highly recommend Ray Sullivan's agency! They're awesome! :-) read more
