The New Entrance: this hidden gem has been completely made over, and the transformation is stunning--just WOW!!

The customer service was awesome--both friendly and relaxed. Great value at $25 per person for 5 tastings, they are generous with sampling and really just want you to get the most out of your experience. There's something for everyone, and some really great wines! You must check this amazing winery out, you won't be sorry.

Ok I'm not ashamed to admit that I know who Raymond Burr was. But I didn't know he had a small winery in the Dry Creek area north of Santa Rosa. I happen to mention to a friend that I was heading to that area and was looking for some ports. He recommended I check out Burr. Nothing fancy, several older farm buildings and houses sitting up at the top of the property. The tasting room is quite small and filled with many pieces of Burr's movie and TV career memorabilia. It was interesting to look through some of the stuff. The staff was very low key and friendly. Offered a free tasting of the Malbec and a cab franc, both were ok. But I was looking for their port and happily poured me a taste. It was ok, but made with French cognac and didn't have that deep warm caramel flavor from the Portuguese style that I love. Give them a try if you want a simple experience with friendly staff

Tasting menu, June 2015. Ladies, sweet talk the old guys into a free pour of the port!

This place is just awesome. Undoubtedly one of the most bizarre tasting rooms I've ever been in, it's going to be the one I remember the most from my day trip to Sonoma! Yes, folks, this is THE Raymond Burr you are thinking of. Mr. Perry Mason himself. The weird hybrid trailer park / tasting room area is decorated with peeling yellow faded T.V. Guide covers and several of Mr. Burr's acting awards. The ancient window a/c unit still manages to keep the unpretentious place cool. Don't miss the carpeted (yes, CARPETED) wheelchair ramp, all done up in mismatched gray and lilac carpet. There was also this table full of used books out front with a handwritten "FREE" sign. I laughed when my friend grabbed a couple of decorating books off the table, reminding her that the complimentary faded paperbacks were probably once the bathroom reading material of Mr. Burr. The tasting experience was also very "offbeat." The two friendly older gentlemen behind the bar were super friendly and welcoming, albeit a little strange. Not in a bad way, in a crazily endearing way. If you go, be sure to chat up Jacob and you will see what I mean. Welcome to the Twilight Zone, baby. The tasting area is on a hill so it affords lovely sweeping views of the vineyards below. The wines were all really tasty too, and while priced a little on the high side, I didn't think they were a terrible value. Best of all, the tastings are FREE. That's unheard of nowadays. Talk about great winery hospitality.

Great experience again at Raymond Burr Vineyards. This was our second visit. Excellent Chardonnay and Cab Franc. Ken, Frank, and Jacob were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The patio has plenty of seating and the view overlooks the vines and mountains beyond. Relaxing and peaceful. I recommend this winery to those who are looking for a friendly, laid back atmosphere with great wines and a great staff.

Great stop (08/25/12), following a tip from friends! I must say we met some unexpectedly super-friendly and engaging hosts, and enjoyed generous samples of a variety of pours! I'm on the wait list for the Port (don't forget me now!). Thanks Dave, Francisco, and Robert for your hospitality! We'll be back, and plan more time around Raymond Burr Vineyards! (see pic!)

Besides being a huge Perry Mason and Raymond Burr fan, Mr Beneviedes has done a superb job honoring the late Mr. Burr by naming the vineyards after him that they bought together in 1986. A must see if you are a fan of Mr. Burr, and of course, their wines are superb! Ken was hosting the tasting room while my wife Sally and I visited, he was gracious and knowledgeable about the rich history that envelopes the vineyards. As a huge fan of Port wine, Ken poured me their latest version. He was very generous in their servings of all their Red selections, while he shared stories of the grapes they grow and how they are uniquely processed. I bought two bottles of their Port, one for drinking and one for a souvenir. They are priced fairly for the quality you receive. I highly recommend visiting this winery for many reasons, not only because of the name, but because they sell and reserve some of the finest wines I have ever tasted.

Our host was very friendly and shared great information about the wines and winery, which made the tasting even more enjoyable. I was disappointed that we had to cut our tasting short because we had a dinner reservation to get to--I could have happily stayed longer! My favorite wine was the Fumé Blanc, and with the member discount, it was an incredible value at just $13.20 a bottle. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and weren't able to purchase any wine before we had to leave. The combination of great wine, stunning scenery, and genuine hospitality makes Ferrari-Carano a place I'd gladly visit again.

May 6, 2025 - Cloverdale…read more This was our second visit to this winery, and it was just as lovely as our first visit. It's a family-owned winery, and very down to earth. Dog-friendly. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by Tilley, a rescued Aussie Cattle Dog. I LOVE that they list her as one of the team members on their website. There is a large tasting room, and an outdoor covered patio on a terrace overlooking the vineyard with amazing views. Once we chose where we wanted to sit, our host, Christy, gave us a complementary taste of rose'. The tasting fee is $20 per person, waived with a two-bottle purchase. The tasting menu is mostly reds, but started with a Viognier. We were then offered the chance to try any white that they had open. Such a relaxing and, really, a perfect wine tasting experience. Christy is friendly and knowledgeable. And then Jim Rickards (owner) came over and talked to us for a while. He is very personable, and had some wonderful stories. We shared conversation with him for quite a while. We enjoyed all the wines. We bought the rose' and the merlot. Prices range from $30-$39 for the whites, and from $35-$63 for the reds.
