I didn't think I would ever say something had too much garlic. The shrimp and garlic noodles were actually inedible. I was able to eat the shrimp, but I had to leave the noodles. I felt like I was biting into cloves of garlic, instead of noodles. The cornbread and banana pudding were ok, but nothing to write home about. Disappointed! We paid $30.00 for some fishy fish, shrimp that I couldn't even bite into and I asked for my fish fried hard but they over fried it. The fries were alright but the whole plate was overly salty. I would not recommend this place to anyone especially for the price. read more

Sean was amazing, friendly and thoughtful. The fish was sooo good, I had the Cod, the fries were seasoned perfectly and crispy on the outside. The sauces were delicious and plentiful. Great service, great prices, open late, and tons of options. Great quality and huge portion sizes which is rare these days. I ordered a gumbo and It was loaded with crab, shrimp, chicken, sausage and corn with rice on the side! Pretty good fish and chips, served fresh and hot. I don't think it has enough recognition because of the area it is in. The only complaint i really had was that they don't serve it with a lemon wedge and the tartar sauce was not typical tartar sauce, i can't really explain it but it tasted bitter and had large pickle pieces in it. We ordered online. I ordered shrimp (20 piece) and 1 pound snow crab. The shrimp was deep fried with fries even though the photo showed fresh shrimp in a sauce. The snow crab was even more disappointing - the crab meat was tough, and it stuck to the shell. This means the crab is old, as in aged, and not a young crab. Disappointing overall for a Mother's Day meal. I even boiled eggs to dip into the sauce but my eggs deserved a better sauce. The sauce was an inch of oil with some dried herbs mixed in, no garlic flavor at all. Ordering online also charges a $2 convenience fee. I'm going to stick to other crab places in town. read more

Wow this place is fire! Stopped by and got the 15 pc basa. I had an hour long drive home, but it tasted so good I pretty much ate the whole order in the car without any sauces. Yes, it was that darn good. Man behind the counter (maybe Ray) was super nice and hooked it up with the sauces. I liked that he had a speakerphone set up outside so you can wait in your car. Was craving fish and chips and found Rays Chicken & Fish Market. As soon as we entered we were greeted and felt welcomed. We ordered the large cod that also came with a slice of toast and fries and it was more than enough to share between two people. We also ordered 2 fried mushroom and fried okra. It took about 10 minutes to receive our order. There is indoor seating available, lots of space, and very clean. Everything came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. Grabbed dinner for our first time tonight and unfortunately ended up leaving missing the fried okra from our order and also had no syrup for the chicken and waffles. My group ordered the red snapper, catfish nuggets, jumbo shrimp, 3/3/3 fried chicken, and some lemonade. Everything was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. How do you describe a peculiar taste not horrible but most definitely not good. The confusion stemmed from the 6 awards the owner claimed he won for his soul food although I think this restaurant was the only one in the competition. The fish was alright the fries were fresh and hot. The sauce was old and the tartar sauce tasted like an old basement that had paint sitting in it for years. The bread was not buttered nor fresh, just a plain old piece of bread. The biggest disappointment was the microwaved craft mac and cheese. When we heard that microwave door shut we knew we were facing some trouble. The ambiance was vintage and lonely. It was fried a little soft however, my biggest problem was that they say that it was catfish, but it was clearly not catfish.
