Never heard of this place or known of this area lol but me and my daughter went for a drive and found this plaza filled with shops and came upon this store. I love visiting new places and exploring so we did just that. They have so much in this store from fruits and vegetables to so much freezer items you can pick from and also a seafood area filled with crabs and fish I like how they also offer to clean the fish you pick and if you want it fry they do that as well. I definitely want to come back and do a little shopping with the kiddos. I was so excited they had what I wasn't looking for seen it all over tik tol and had to pick it up and try and it was amazing my other favorite thing is they have these cool and delicious chips that always taste amazing read more

It's such a great addition to Livermore area. I'm glad this place is around so my parents who live in the area don't need to drive further away to shop for their Asian groceries. So as I have said before we are fiends for, I guess for a lack of a better word "ethnic" grocery store. You never know what you are going to find, they typically have better prices on stuff, etc etc. 88 is a massive store. The isles are spacious and free of clutter and they offer an extensive selection of stuff. The produce selection was extensive as well. They also as would suggest by the name they have an extensive live fish selections as well. They do not have any sort of prepared take out food, but the one staff we interacted with, the checkout clerk, was super friendly and efficient. read more

This supermarket is really big and spacious! The produce area gives off a warehouse vibe with a bunch of products! They have a bunch of southeast asian snacks, drinks, produce! For the most part this place is like any other typical grocery store but really big and has everything you need! It's the only asian grocery store in livermore besides Ranch 99 and its not bad! The butcher at the seafood section was nice and informative. We ordered a black bass to eat steamed fish tonight. The hot pot meat is also a good price, and it doesn't look as bad either. We got free snacks upon checking out which was really generous of them! Usually grocery stores don't give you free stuff when you check out. Not a bad place to get your asian groceries!!! read more

I've been shopping at 88 Market regularly, but after my recent experience, I'm very disappointed. I had purchased a bag of mandarins and tried one right outside the store with my mother, only to find it wasn't very good. I went back in to see if I could return the rest -- I would have understood if they said no. But instead of simply refusing politely, the staff scolded me. One of them even started lecturing me about how hard it is to run a business, making me feel like I had done something terribly wrong. I'm a reasonable customer -- I don't expect every return to be accepted. But I do expect to be treated with basic respect. After this experience, I'm seriously reconsidering whether I want to support a business that treats its customers this way. read more

Fine Food Mart was once here. no prepped foods. just fresh seafood, meats, fruits & vegetables. groceries from Thailand, Korea, China, Taiwan, Philippines, Japan, Singapore, India, Malaysian and Hong Kong are available in various degrees. some countries aplenty, a few very sparse. snacks mostly of the fried variety. ramen Korean, Japan, Indonesian, Hong Kong.... long aisles of the usual categories surrounded by pallets full of fruits, vegetables, and various noodles, snacks, drinks, groceries. I didn't see many "name" brands, mostly unknown ones. sampling: red/green bean mochi (Taiwan 1.99) -lots of sugar, many chemical additives, artificial colorings....not healthy demae ramen black garlic oil, tonkotsu flavor, (Hong, Kong .79) -classic authentic instant noodle. now owned by Japan company, flavors real. paldo kimchi noodle (Korean 1.39) -noodles & flavor tasted off, niche noodle company. I don't review anything on yelp but with the most recent conversation I just had few minutes ago with woman who answered the phone was rude and lazy!!! This place has potential and carries a lot of unique Asian goodies. However their customer service is very poor. I called and asked if they have any live crawfish today. The lady who I spoke on the phone responded "I don't know" and I asked nicely to see if she can check. With a rude tone, "She said no, it's someone's else job". So then I asked if someone else can check it for her and she responded "no you have to come here". I shared with her that we live 30-40mins away from store that I need to make sure if they have it on hand before driving to the store... Do better! read more

Was recommended by a lady at ranch 99. We were buying live long cod and she said 88 of Vasco has a better selection of live fish. We went last week and super disappointed. They barely had any live fish. Very limited selection. No live long cod at all. Went straight back to ranch 99 and got a 26 lb live long cod. read more

88 Seafood Supermarket is a ginormous store that sells a variety of Asian snacks, fresh produce, live seafood, frozen items, etc. I noticed they have a lot of unique Vietnamese items that I've never seen at 99 ranch before so that was nice! Huge parking lot and there weren't tons of shoppers at the time. I hate crowds so I actually enjoying having the aisles to myself. Vegetables are pretty fresh. I would skip the baked items though...saw some bread with black mold. read more

Fresh Seafood is hit n miss. Prices are not that cheap either. Selection is less than seafood city or 99 ranch.

I haven't shopped beee in at a year and a half, since I stopped going, but I haven't had a chance to write this long overdue review. It was nice when it first opened, but several months after that, I noticed expired milk they were still selling and didn't pull off the shelves. It wasn't just expired by a day or two, but at least a week. Another time, the produce section smelled of strong chemical scents. The last incidence prior to me never wanting to come back was a large box on a pallet full of green moldy fuzzy oranges and an employee going through them and picking out the good ones to separate from The moldy ones. That's when I knew they didn't care about quality products and they sell expired items. They should be shut down. I'd rather go to Ranch 99. Sorry to say, I'm waiting for them to go out of business and hopefully a better store will open up in its place. read more

88 Seafood Market is located in a quiet neighborhood not far from the Hwy 580 Vasco Road offramp. My family and I decided to check them out on 02/12/2022 after hearing good things about them from a family friend. It was very quiet when we walked in at around 4 pm. The interior was spacious with a high ceiling. Cleanliness was excellent. The first thing that caught my eyes was the huge produce section on the left side. It was neatly organized and the selection was vast. For the most part prices were competitive to other Asian markets in the East and South Bay. The meat and seafood section was located in the back of the market. The items were displayed in an organized manner. The fish looked fresh but the same couldn't be said for some of the shellfish, as evident by the cracked shells. The meat section featured a great selection, including some exotic items such as goat, Canadian free range chicken, etc. Prices were very reasonable comparing to other Asian markets. Two other things of note - 1) they have a lot of South Asian items, and 2) some sauces, cooking oil, and dried goods are available in bulk. Service was good. The butcher and cashier we encountered were polite and helpful. All things considered, this market is pretty decent, even though it's far away from where I live. I will return. BONUS MATERIAL: - Ample parking on site. - They have fish frying service. - They don't sell cooked food. read more

Pretty much anything you'd need in here for asian cooking plus.....went here for the seafood section and wasn't disappointed..they have a good variety of fresh fish displayed on an open counter over ice. They also have all the spices you'd need and I was happy to find fresh chow fun noodles instead of only dry like some other competitors...service was good and plenty of parking...will definitely go back. read more

My coworkers and I have been here during our lunch a few times now. We are fans. They have oxtail, brown chicken, fresh noodles and everything I need to make pho. The meat department has been super helpful. They have a lot of fresh seafood and even live frogs. I usually only see those in Chinatown. Their vegetables and herbs have been pretty fresh. I like the location because it is super close to my work and close to the freeway. Parking is plentiful and the store is huge. It does have more southeast Asian products than Ranch 99. I'm really glad I found this place! Pricing is very fair and beats ranch 99. Lots of south East Asian food stuff that you won't be able to find in ranch 99 and the produce was fresh. If you're looking for a good deal on your daily grocery that includes southeast Asian food, you'll be happy. But don't expect a nice luxurious type of ambiance, it won't be that. read more

On multiple occasions I have opened brand new groceries only to find mold inside the Kimchi container lid, in the veggies, a bug infested bunch of broccoli. I went for the soft opening and it was ok- but not great. They had none of the things I went looking for- no curry leaves, no inari skins and no poha. I couldn't believe they didn't have inari and curry leaves- those are always available at 99 Ranch. They did have an interesting fruit and veg selection and they have extensive cookies, crackers and canned and jarred items as well as lots of regular rice (northernmost aisle of the store). The first two people I tried to ask for help did not speak English. If you need help, go to the register- they are bilingual at the register. All in all it wasn't a great experience and I will just make the trek to 99 Ranch instead of trying this place again in the hope it gets better. read more

Wow! Typically I pay so much more for these asian treats at stores and safeway, but I found this gem that sells everything I love including mochi ice cream for less than what stores typically charge. Definitely returning! Highly recommend this supermarket for your Japanese and Chinese foods. Service was friendly and everyone greeted me with a smile. The place is organized, tidy, and clean! I am surprised by the low ratings for this location. Most ethnic stores have employees who may only speak their native language, which can be challenging for those who only speak English. Although it would be great to be able to communicate, I always keep in mind that it is okay if they can not. Everything we purchased was not expired. The prices are comparable to any other Asian Market we have shopped at. It would be a shame if this places closes. It is one of the only decent places in Livermore area for Asian groceries. Don't let the bad reviews put a damper on you wanting to give them a shot. Amazingly good supermarket. 1st street Safeway no longer needs to exist. 88 seafood supermarket has wide aisles, not much traffic, and amazing selection of Asian and more general kinds of food. I even found a whole aisle dedicated to all kinds of rice, up to Texas sized (50 lbs and above) servings! They also fry fish for free. read more

I stopped by 88 Seafood Supermarket after lunch today. I line the location because it's less chaotic than the Ranch 99 off Fallon. Upon walking in, there was a great selection of Hello Kitty branded snacks. The aisles were clean and everything was well organized. I bought this the other day and never had the chance to drink it and i saw it was expired from 6 months ago. Not sure how they are allowed to keep this on the shelf or even sell it.
