Not impressed. This place was poorly organized and quite cramped. I saw a worker climbing all over the shelves. A lot of the packaging was damaged, and I found moldy tomatoes for sale. It got the job done, and had several local brands, but if I lived here I would find a different store. read more

This market looks pretty conventional on the outside but they have a great selection within- for example, the best array of Bob's Red Mill products I have ever seen anywhere, a decent organic produce section and lots of local, gluten free, and unusual items, including grass fed ground beef. I was really impressed and the staff is nice and helpful as well. For a small town market this place rocks. read more

I am not sure why Ray's has such low reviews as my husband and I have found Ray's to be a nice place to shop. We were in Waldport in the Fall of 2015 and again this past week. We have also shopped the Ray's in Bandon. We find the store in Waldport to be clean, bright and employees very friendly. They might be higher in price on some items, but when you have a store on the coast, you will find higher places, especially when they are the only grocery store in town. However, I expect that in vacation/resort areas. I was also pleased to find a small section of gluten-free crackers and cookies as my daughter has Celiac's, so it was a nice surprise. The Wal-Mart where we live doesn't have that kind of variety! We will always shop a Ray's grocery store when we are on the coast. read more

Since rays is the only store without having to drive to newport and the prices are ridiculously high, the one thing they truly need on there side is customer friendly employees, i would like to say sarah is the sweetest and most courtious checker there, she also is the only checker that has ever offered me a easier way to use western union. I have been using western union there for two years and not one person that has helped me ever offered a easier way to do it except her i didnt even know they offered it. I use to use this store to grab just quick things I needed and its not even worth doing that anymore because their customer service is just so bad. They only acknowlege people they know, everyone else is treated as unwelcomed. I can tell you that they have lost my business.whats wierd though is that the one in yachats dosent have that problem. This small town local grocery store takes advantage of their locals which is completely opposite of their missions statement. Their prices are hiked for the tourist, not at a local level of which the median income is at or below poverty level. This does not include the "snowbirds" which leave every September. But even the snowbirds complain about their prices. Also, they are systematically trying to stomp on the local small businesses by carrying products that they could easily avoid with other products that are truly needed. Most, if not a large portion of, the locals shop in Newport for their groceries to avoid their prices. The only good thing about their store is their employees. All local and loved people. read more

I'm glad that we have a good local market! The prices may be a little bit higher but it beats driving to Newport when you need groceries. The staff have always been very friendly and the store looks clean with a good representation of products. And they do have sales and generic items to keep the price down. read more

Wow! Pleasantly surprised by this grocery store. It's small but literally has everything -- from almond flour to La Croix to diapers to Deschutes Chainbreaker IPA TO coconut oil and they even had Avent bottle nipples. We are here for vacation and thought Ray's would only have basics, but this store has it all! Great! read more

It's filthy. Everything is radically overpriced. There is one price on the shelf where you get your item, and another (higher) price at checkout. Cashiers are unfriendly and hostile. We have stayed in the area once a year for last 8 years, and Ray's has seen better days. Worth the 30 minute drive up to Newport to avoid this place. read more

This place is lucky to be open. After making multiple complaints with the management about the lack of cleanliness and food safety within the store, I've started reporting them to the health department every time I go in there and find something. Maybe some day after the fines stack up, C&K Markets will get it. People rave about their meat department being so great, they sell select folks!!!! read more

As a resident of Waldport, I find this grocery store to be a necessary part of the community, however the store is a sub-par grocery store. The produce at Ray's is generally pretty poor. For grocery shopping (excepting milk, etc. which could be serviced by a convenience store) it is worth the trip into Newport to go to a real grocery store such as Safeway or Fred Meyers. Ray's seems to have taken a turn for the worse since the beginning of this year. read more

I love Rays. They have grocery delivery and you don't have to be old or handicapped; an email or phone call brings groceries to your front door--regularily or for a one time event!! Feels like I'm saving by avoiding impluse purchases. Yes, their prices may be a bit higher than the stores in Newport, but they do a great job for a rural store. I usually start my weekly shopping with their online sale supplement. Shirley, mgr of the Deli has all kinds of customizable ideas, and the meat department you can't beat--oldfashioned superb service. They've custom ground pork for our at home sausage making! Their case goods sale in October and their meat sales are great times to stock up the pantry, and they really are good corporate citizens, very active in the community. Like all businesses they try to do more with fewer resources and their employees still really care about the customer. Decent selections and hardworking folks. read more

horrible service in the deli. we waited 45 min for 3 sandwiches to be made. lazy incompetent morons. we finally left without our food, i would seriously recommend waiting until newport for deli items. will never go here again!!! read more
