Coming into R.B.'s Cyclery, I felt an immediate connection to their team -- I picked my store before I selected a bike. Jay, Timothy and the entire staff come across as enthusiasts who are also committed professionals. I rode several bikes when I was there and got an idea what to consider. I didn't feel any pressure to buy on the spot, and Jay cheerfully answered any questions I had as I was doing my research. After the purchase, I had a minor problem with one of the tubeless tires I had requested. Jay and the team jumped right on it, addressed the issue, and also talked me through what was going on and how it all works. I really appreciate that approach - I want to know all I can about my bike, and they are happy to educate me. We had a great experience at R.B.'s and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my bike. I wanted a Townie Cruiser so my husband searched online. According to Electra's website, there are no local vendors with inventory, but R.B. had several Electra Townies in stock. They had both men's and women's including the Bosch electric version and the 7D. I can't say that we got a great deal on the bike, but we certainly didn't pay more by going to a specialty shop, and we got better service. I wanted to add fenders, a bell, and a basket (all accessories in stock) to my bike and they did all the work in-store for me. The bike also includes a free tuneup, and I feel confident that they will back their work and the product should something go wrong. read more

They scam me when I bought a cannondale from this place.. I told the salement this was going to be my first good bike, and he ask me if I want a kickstand. They install it took it to the back.. I went and testing it home thr wheel was hitting the tires and wobbling.. I called and salemen said they were closing.. watch out guys this is like a bad mechanic.. they will install and break something else so you keep coming back for service read more

Great cycling shop with a super cute black lab mix there greeting you at the door. I stopped in because I needed a pair of delta cycling clips for my cycling cleats. I have to admit, I was a bit intimidated going into a bicycle shop with absolutely no knowledge, and having not been a bike owner since age 13. Jay spent well over an hour with me explaining all of the basics, finding me exactly the right bike for what my goals were, and then showing me exactly how to use it. All of the other employees were super friendly as well. The only problem is that I might have been bit by the cycling bug and will likely be visiting R.B.'s again soon for an upgrade. read more

This place was super unprofessional you're going to wait an hour for a 15 minute job and the owner is whistling Dixie in the corner. They have two 14 year old kids assembling the bikes and fixing bikes which I don't know about you but my safety is a little bit more important than an under age person in control of fixing my bike. This is a great bike shop. As a beginning biker, I really appreciate how helpful they are. I have taken two bikes here for some work, and have always been pleased at the amount they charge for their services. I also attended a bike repair class here this past week free of charge. I think it is great that they do things like this. All of the employees I have encountered here have been very friendly. The bikes, accessories, and apparel are all a little pricey and probably more targeted toward serious bikers as they seem to be high end brands, but they are pretty comparable to any bike shop. They also sell used bikes for the more price conscious consumers. read more

Excellent experience. I had purchased a used bike from CL and took it in to see if it needed tune up, adjustments, etc. I was a bit apprehensive thinking someone with significantly more knowledge about cycling could tell me certain things were wrong with the bike, had to be replaced, etc. Not only did they not do that but they took the time to explain the shape it was in, fitted me for it, walked me through shifting, and even explained that I didn't need to replace cables and tires! They also explained that they won't charge me a second time to get fitted when I upgrade to clipless pedals. When the time comes to replace and upgrade I will definitely be going back. Super knowledgeable staff and a great selection of everything. Highly recommend. read more

This place is great! I've dealt with Jay when I go in. He did a fit for me on my bike, and he gives you endless advice if you have any questions. All the things he's told me has benefited me immensely on my rides. They never try to sell you anything. Getting work done on your bike can be similar to taking your car to a mechanic. There's a big trust issue. Jay was very knowledgeable, and when I asked if I should replace this, that, or this, he has told me that there is no need to replace it. They never rush you, and always take the time to answer your questions and let you leave happy, and with confidence for your next ride. It's great to have a neighborhood bike store that has integrity, charm, and know how. I can't recommend this place enough. R.B.'s rules!!!! read more

I'm sorry to report that i would not recommend this establishment as I spent over $2,000 on a bicycle and the service i received was horrible. They would not return my calls when i left voice mails and even when I left messages with employees for the owner to call me, I still never heard back. I ordered extras for my bicycle, and they forgot to place the order. They received the parts and told me to come in and pick up and when i got there my bike wasn't ready yet. They even had the audacity to charge me extra to install the part after they said they would do it for free. The employees don't care about their clients as they just sit around and don't help when you need it. Their attitude when they do help is horrible. It's like they are doing you a favor. In short, they are unethical, non-caring, and horrible service. Oh, and i forgot to mention that when i brought my bike home, they installed the part improperly and my seat was not put back to the height that I had it. read more
