Southern Painting Coppell/Flower Mound office…read more I cannot say enough good things about Southern painting. They just finished our house in 2- 1/2 days much sooner and better than we expected. The team led by Anna consisted of 3 ladies and 2 men who stayed with us from start to finish and worked non-stop with excellent attitudes and communication. The work consisted of power washing all the to be painted areas, sanding, caulking all wood areas and windows, fixing several trim pieces, even cementing tiles and trim area on an upper deck. Instead of using a hand held piece of cardboard to protect bricks from over spray they covered and taped all the brick around the trim pieces. I asked them to replace trim around a pole that was damaged by our mowers with weed whackers, Southern replaced the wood and covered it with metal to stop damage in the future. The house is 4,000 SQ.-FT, two story brick with lots of trim including several painted patios, painted columns and many other painted areas. They also painted our inside master bath cabinets and some hallways; work was excellent and completed within a day. I bid several painters, thinking with their good reviews and reputation Southern would not come in with the best price, to my surprise they were lower than all by a wide margin. Working with Leo was incredible; we have never had any contractor communicate more and spend time on the job to make sure all went as planned. Around 9:00 AM, someone called me to schedule an appointment for the following week. I did schedule for the following week because I honestly thought they were a different painting company, since I had contacted several and also had other estimates being scheduled. I never heard her clearly say she was calling to reschedule today's confirmed appointment. She may have thought she explained that, but the communication of that critical piece was very vague and brief. A proper introduction should have been something like: "Hi, this is Elizabeth with DFW Painting. I know we have you scheduled today at 10:00 AM, but unfortunately we need to reschedule due to..." That would have made the situation clear. That is a basic and proper opening line for something like this. Because her communication was so unclear, I didn't even realize she was canceling today's appointment and that they were the ones that were already scheduled to come. I am an executive who communicates via email, virtually and in person every day. I am well-versed in proper communication. That confusion and lack of professionalism is why I decided not to move forward with them. Communication is paramount.

I'm done." I have hired a new contractor to do additional paint work for a kitchen remodel. They assessed the other interior work done by this company and felt the popcorn removal and ceiling repaint was done satisfactorily, but also noted many inconsistencies in the retexturing and application to the walls and fixtures. I was aware of lot of uneven seams as well. Overall, they considered the work done suitable for flipping a house--done fast and efficient, but lacking in detail. This was a big learning curve for me.

Kurt came out and gave us a quote for three rooms (bedroom, living area and office) that was extremely fair. Living room was to be done in a very light grey. Others were to be done in a bright white. Dutch white was done upstairs. Two man crew showed up promptly the very next day and moved furniture and taped off and prepped and painted. Did an amazing job. Only problem was that Dutch white is lavender. After reading a bunch of reviews it's a flaw on the manufacturer behr. Called the owner and he sent the two guys back out and they painted it again in a bright white for no additional cost and did it right. Think "Here I Go Again". Loved the promptness and honesty and the cleanup. Was a great experience. Will use them again for bathroom renovation and upstairs painting.

If you do, be sure not to pay Chris until you have thoroughly examined the work. This is because there is no urgency to correct any mistakes that they make. I hired Encore Painting to paint my garage in February 2025. It is now March 2026, and they still have not fixed the job. My garage is still the wrong color. Don't be fooled by the good reviews. They are survey sharks. They hassle you to give a 5 star review.
