After acting as the general on a remodel last summer I thought it would be worth the extra money to let someone else manage scheduling. At first, things looked good. Our designer is a nice man and was as excited about the project as we were. We didn't understand that he is not the project manager, just the designer. He made a mistake in the original (not cheap) bid, so to keep it the same arranged for us to pay the drywall guy directly. Which had the end result of making him our problem rather than Re-baths. We also ended up using our own plumber for the heavy lifting and our own electrician. So not so easy. Work was delayed due to the first window being built incorrectly (not Re-bath's fault). We weren't told that this would likely push back our project so when we bought our plumber in (last minute because the one Rebath hooked us up with doubled their estimate just prior to beginning the work), we had them work us in assuming the start date was what had been communicated previously. Wrong! The job started over a week later, leaving us without a shower for 3 weeks. Simple communication here would have alleviated a lot of problems, but evidently their system doesn't allow that. The Rebath employees were polite and did a nice enough job. The drywall company (Mike's Drywall) didn't bother to lay anything down on the floors or clean up after themselves. They charged over $1000 (which was credited back to our job, but is still way high) for a mediocre job that took 1 day total. When we complained I was told since we paid them (due to our designer helping us out) it was our problem. If I'd understood that I would have hired the company we worked with before. Then the painter had a personal situation (this is truly one of those cursed jobs). Rebath did respond appropriately here by figuring out a way to get it done to stay on schedule. They also accidentally tossed the tank lid to our expensive one piece skirted toilet which is a discontinued model. Offered to replace it with a two piece (no) or give us $400 credit toward a replacement. Also no. I tracked down a lid myself and was reimbursed. We had to ask them to return to finish caulking around the vanity. The finished project looks good (x drywall) and I have been assured that the warranty is good, so hopefully this is the case. Too expensive for the hassle. One employee did listen to my concerns and help me understand some things. She encouraged me to talk with the GM about how communication would help the process. Big mistake. He was just interested in telling me why I'm wrong. I was in sales for over 40 years and this isn't how you treat people if you want return business or good reviews. Completely understand that some jobs are cursed. There are better ways to handle things. read more

Shame on Re-Bath. My parents set up a shower remodel. Total cost was $12k and required 50% down. That was fine, however, 2 weeks after we set the agreement, my father passed away. I talked to re-bath and let them know we needed to cancel the project as we are now trying to figure out if my mom can still afford to stay in her house, let alone pay the balance of the shower. I spoke to Seth and he said given the extenuating circumstances that he talked to the manager and they would refund the full amount. However, today they called me and said they won't charge us the standard 35% but can do better than that. ****UPdate - just got a call from "Bill" and he said he can refund 50% of the deposit. That is worse than their 35% policy. Out of $6300 that she put down they are only refunding my mom $3190. What a lousy company to do business with. They went back on their word. Shame on you! They can't even make appointments correctly. I called to talk to them earlier this week and they locally cannot make their own appointments. I called again and tried to get them to come out on doing 3 bathrooms. They asked it it was insurance and I am dealing with insurance on ONE of the bathroom but told them I was not asking them to deal with the insurance company. The gentleman then said he was not sure they could help me. If you can't figure out how to take a check, I don't want you doing work on my home. read more

I went into Home Depot the other day and a representative signed me up for a bathroom remodel consultation. My cabin bathroom needs a remodel. I'd do it myself but I'm hiring out work because I am currently working on four different properties including of rebuild of a 100 year old historical home. With and without contractors. My problem with this company is that the condition of having someone come out to give me a bid was that my husband had to be in attendance too. Yeah, my husband doesn't do construction. That's my area of expertise. I've owned rentals for over 20 years and worked on houses since grade school. I hire out certain jobs that I don't care to do because I'm older with a bad back. Removing walls, and bathroom fixtures isn't something I care to do anymore. Re bath should reconsider their policy. There was NO way my husband would ever sit through a presentation. Get in, give me a bid and get out. That isn't how this company operates. No thanks. read more

Love the job Curtis and Eli of Re-Bath did on our tub. Our old one was cracked and discolored. When we ordered our bathtub and surrounds we were told it would take up to 6 weeks. We agreed with price and told him we would go pick products at the showroom and were anxious to get on install list. The next day he had the receptionist call and cancel the consult. Re*Bath did a full remodel on my master bathroom. I was impressed that, as quoted, they did the whole job in five days. I'm talking gutting the whole room and starting over - Wow! The estimate/planning process was a comfortable process and I thank Damon for his time. Every day was choreographed down to the minute. Re*Bath technicians Curtis and Kevin worked tirelessly every day (alongside outsourced companies (i.e., plumbing, electrical and drywall)) and met with me at the end of each day for updates and progress reports. Although there were a handful of small imperfections, the end result after completion was exactly as I had planned. It's a gorgeous room now! Thank you Re*Bath! We had our guest bathroom remodeled by Re-Bath and everything appeared to be good, however upon closer inspection you can tell the installer decided to take short cuts. Our baseboards were cut wrong and instead of correcting the problem they pumped silicone caulking around/behind the baseboard causing them to not sit flush. We now have damage to them because silicone caulking expands. Also when the installer caulked around the shower insert they spread the caulking onto the wall instead of wiping it clean. That was discovered when we went to paint. We also were told that they did not have our black drain cover in stock at the time so they put in a stainless steel one and would contact us when the black one came in. My husband and I have called multiple times and no one has returned any of our calls. I am absolutely disgusted with their customer service. read more

Do not waste your time with ReBath. Find somebody who understands the BTU needs of the walk in tub they install. If ReBath cannot figure out the water heater and plumbing issues to make a Walk in Tub work properly, I wonder if they are really qualified for the rest of the work they do. ReBath installed a Walk-in-tub claiming the 40 gallon water heater was adequate to fill the tub with hot water. The tub was never able to be filled to a reasonable bath level before the incoming water got cold. Plus, the water jets at the back of the seat are too powerful and uncomfortable so the added expense of water jets is a waste. I complained and the office sent the original installer out to check out the system. First, he filled the air lines to the jets with caulk to basically shut of the air injection, claiming this was the factory's recommendation to reduce the force of the jets. It reduced the force of the jets by a small amount but now the system. My Jacuzzi tub in a previous house had adjustable jets. Not in this expensive tub. Then he tested the hot water supply. He measured the fill rate and looked at the water heater. He went into a long circular explanation of the water heater's recovery rate and a bunch of mumbo jumbo that showed he did not have a clue about the issue. He had no idea what the BTU rating of the water heater meant. He left advising cranking the water heater thermostat to the highest setting that is tolerable and filling the tub slowly with the water temp set to just warm enough so the water heater had more opportunity to heat the water as it refilled. So, to get a warm bath, one needs to sit naked in a cold tub and slowly let it fill with water that is just warm enough until the tub is full enough to try to enjoy a bath. This takes 10 minutes. A normal tub fill time should be 4 to 5 minutes. I sat down and ran the numbers. A standard 34,000 BTU per hour 40 gallon water heater delivering 120-125 degree water to the tub will fill the tub to a proper temperature if slowly filed over 10 minutes and if the tub does not draw any heat from the water. Since the tub is only 70 degrees, it will take heat from the water as it heats up to 100 degrees to match the water. BUT, all of the water will quickly start cooling. It requires a constant flow of hot water to maintain the tub temperature. The final straw was when the installer said he asked about the preferred height of the curtain rod. He installed it so a 6' 6" man could walk under it. Two senior citizens who are both under 5' 6" would never have requested it to be installed that high. As I said, Do not waste your time with ReBath. Find somebody who understands plumbing and the BTU needs of the walk in tub they install. read more

Re-Bath did a complete remake on our bath, only issue was getting the correct counter top in which took two orders from them to the manufacturer. The actual work was indeed done in one day, I watch closely to see about corners being cut but all the work was correct and beautiful. We have received many compliments on the new bath. We are extremely happy with the results! read more

I called to buy wall materials for a shower. Was told they do not sell any materials to the public. This is so they can rip you off with there massively over priced jobs. Use your Head stay away from Rebath and their Kirby Vacume salesman techniques. read more

Learn from my experience and don't waste your money. I hired Re-bath because I was told the entire bathroom would be completed in 3-5 days, that they use all in-house people, and would repair any mold or plumbing problems that would be found. None of these things were true. The project began on October 1st and was completed on October 29th. I had a great quality, but outdated bath. Now, I have a poor quality bath that drips for an hour after using, it is too loud to use if someone is sleeping, and they have ruined the wall texture, door molding and got paint and drywall spackle all over windows, etc. There were multiple instances I was told they would be there, and they didn't show and times they showed when they were not expected. The plumber and drywall people were outsourced. I was aware they were outsourcing the tile and the tile subcontractor did an excellent job. They didn't even caulk around the tub until I put up a big stink - then they caulked with a white that doesn't blend with the tub or the flooring. They painted the doors and trim with a roller for masonry, so it has lumps everywhere. EVERYTHING must be redone. I have already hired someone else to fix what they ruined. There is $14K down the drain. The $14K was supposed to be for tub, tile, wall and trim texture and paint, sink, counter, and toilet. They charge high end prices for low quality work and materials. They didn't keep any of their promises. I kept my floors, vanity, mirrors, etc since they are much better quality than their materials. They removed the copper pipes that were in great shape and replaced with PVC. The fixtures were supposed to be chrome, but they are plastic with a chrome colored coating. read more

I contacted Re-Bath of Idaho for an estimate a complete bathroom remodel. I was politely told that my spouse needed to present, because I was married. I explain this was my bathroom not a shared bathroom. The Re-Bath representative explained their policy that a spouse must be present, so they could not do an estimate. Two days later, a regional Vice President of Sales contacted me. I explained this was bathroom was solely for me and I owned other houses. The Regional VP of Sale reconfirmed their policy that the spouse needed to be present. I inform him, I had already choose another contractor to remodel my bathroom. I gave them one star, because they were polite. Sorry folks I cannot work with a business that cannot deal having your spouse always present. read more

Well, we just wanted to buy a shower stall and have them install it. I walked in to ask about maybe a quote or a chance to look at their selection. The lady would not do anything until someone came to our house and we'd have to wait 6-8 weeks. After multiple questions from me, she refused to budge or try to help me out in any way. That's crazy! I know the dimensions, I have a pretty darn good idea of what I want, but I have to wait that long just for an estimate! I can't believe I wasn't even given the chance to look at their selection. Nope, I'd rather go to Home Depot, buy a stall (even if it's not lifetime guaranteed) and install it myself. It sure felt like a waste of time. read more

Just had our master bath converted from tub/shower to walk-in shower. Re-Bath made the entire process easy and stress free. Salesman Neil was no-pressure, honest and easy to work with. Project was done exactly to our specifications. Cannot say enough about Casey and James, the installers. They were GREAT! Finished in record time, cleaned up all the (small) mess, and were courteous and pleasant. They were nice to our killer chihuahua - even though she wasn't very nice to them. Was Re-Bath the least expensive option? NO.....but you get what you pay for. We are very happy and our bathroom looks great. read more

The best thing about Rebath is that they do honor their warrantee. We know this because over the last three years since they installed our shower they have returned multiple time to repair the unit due to shoddy work and product - include two entire replacements. Each repair and replacement has also necessitated up to two weeks of curing time when we couldn't use the shower. With the last replacement they even had to replace the wall board behind the shower where they had caused significant damage with the last replacement. Even with the complete this time - we will still need to complete the repair work to the ceilings and wall where the gouged it. If we ever have occasion to remodel another bathroom it will not be with Rebath read more

A Re-Bath salesman came to our home and used high-pressure and highly-manipulative techniques to try to get my husband and I to commit to their offer the night of the estimate. The presentation took 2.5 hours and clearly was not altered at all even though we were trying to hold/entertain a 2 year old who we had to keep up past her bedtime because the guy just kept going on and on. Most of this presentation was spent watching a powerpoint of information I already knew about the company from researching them on the internet. From the beginning the salesman seemed more interested in interrogating us over other options we were considering and giving me his opinion that other remodeling companies we had received bids for (and we didn't give him names of companies because that felt awkward) were not trustworthy or respectful because they were taking a couple days between taking the measurements and the final bids. He asked me "how does that make you feel that they didn't respect your time enough to give you a number?" I thought to myself "it doesn't bother me that a company understands that remodeling a historic 1947 home's bathroom requires a little more thought than taking measurements of surface materials and plugging it into a 10 cell pricing chart (like Re-Bath did) and it definitely isn't good business practice to make a major home improvement decision without investigating a few different options. The salesman wasted so much of the presentation trying to bad-mouth who he assumed was bidding on our remodel I finally just said that I'd prefer to focus on what Re-Bath had to offer. It was clear to me from the salesman's behavior he must have received some extra incentive for signing a person up the day of the presentation. He was clearly angry with me when I told him we would be taking a week to look at all of our options before making a decision. He actually said, "so you've just been wasting my time, then?" Additionally, I can say that while these look like good quality immitations of stone/tile work it is not worth paying over double the cost of even higher-end tile/grout systems (Re-Bath bid us $8400 for JUST the shower). Re-bath materials have less resale value regardless of what a Re-Bath salesman thinks of these products and when most people end up staying in their home for 10 years or less... this isn't smart investing and in the end that is what you are doing every time you improve your home. On a final note, while I am not LDS I found the following conversation that occurred at the very beginning of the meeting unprofessional and offensive. The salesman and his "trainee" were talking to us about our daughter and baby on the way. Making conversation I asked each of them about their kids and the trainee said he had five children. The head salesman then adds something like "yeah he USED to be LDS and you know how that goes" giving me eyebrows. Now I realize that this guy has noticed we have a wine rack in our living room and a coffee pot in our kitchen, made an assumption we are not LDS/mormon, and now is making a comment to me about a religious stereotype? Not appropriate and I wish I had ended the presentation right then since this was my first red flag of many -- seriously too many to list out here! read more

They are very nice on email responses, but horrible on phone. The lady who sends the email replies doesn't even know she's the same person who answers the phone "let me see who sent you the email", uh, it was you. She did not know if floating shelves constitute part of a remodel, most likely because they want you to spend as much money on I'm sure cheap fake cabinets. I don't even know why I wasted my time thinking about this idea.
