I'll try to keep this short and concise. We hired Mike to do a complete remodel of our front and backyard which included tearing up all the grass (to get the state rebate), concrete work, and adding block walls. Overall the project came out pretty well but there were issues throughout the entire process. We spent almost $20k with Mike and I did not expect to have to quality check his guys as much as I did. I'll try to keep this short and concise. We hired Mike to do a complete remodel of our front and backyard which included tearing up all the grass (to get the state rebate), concrete work, and adding block walls. Overall, the project came out pretty well but there were issues throughout the entire process. We spent almost $20k with Mike and I did not expect to have to quality check his guys as much as I did. Pros The final outcome looks good and his concrete guy does really good work. Cons: 1. If you have the plans already drawn up, then Mike may be your guy. He lacks creativity and anytime we asked his opinion about what to do, he basically said it's up to come up with the design. 2. Quality control was an issue as he was hardly ever there. He put way too much trust in his guys. Here are some examples: - During the prep work for the concrete on both sides of the house, his guys completely covered my drain pipes. Luckily, I noticed and had them uncap the drains. Without the drains, water would just collect on the sides of my house. - When installing the sprinkler line for my bushes, the guys didn't notice that a pipe was broken. I noticed the excess water and had them dig it up and repair it. This same line broke again and I had water leaking for a few weeks. - The end of the drip system wasn't capped at one of my trees and water was gushing out. Luckily, I was there to correct it. - I had to go to EVERY single plant that we have (we have a lot) and make sure drip lines were going to each one. A lot were missing. - Even after that, they still missed a large section of my planters because he said the existing sprinkler system was going there. It wasn't until my bushes started dying, that I realized he had capped that existing line. - The lights installed on my columns were done horribly and Mike had to get someone to redo it. - Concrete splatter was all over my walls on every side of my home. - I had to have them come back and reinstall some of the block wall caps because they were loose. I didn't say anything, but the guys left concrete chunks in my planter after this was done. 3. If I had my push broom or water hose sprayer laying around, the guys would use it. They actually broke my water hose sprayer. 4. My pregnant wife was home at the time with our infant, and she had to keep the windows closed because the guys were smoking. On top of that, they left the cigarette butts on the ground. One day I told one of the workers to put it out because my wife had to run inside because of the smoke. 5. The work took longer than it should have. My wife noticed how the guys sat around A LOT when Mike wasn't there. read more

We just had a big concrete area poured in our backyard. We also had all mulch removed, weed barrier put down, and new rock put down. Mike and his team did an outstanding job. Mike is always at the site working with his team or stopping by to check progress. He is an excellent communicator and does great work. He checked in with me at least once a day to let me know what was completed and the plan for the next day. I would definitely hire him again and will refer him to friends. I would like to start off by saying I don't normally write reviews on yelp and would have given more than a 5 star rating if I could! I purchased a new home with only dirt and a large slope in my backyard. I was looking for a contractor to complete my backyard from start to finish. I decided to go with Re-Leaf and the owner Mike was absolutely amazing! I have dealt with a lot of contractors and sub-contractors and Mike has been by far the best and easiest to work with. It was very important for the contractor to have employees rather than day laborers and seeing someone different everyday. Mike had that and all his employees were very nice, respectful, and did very good work. I am very happy with the finished product and look forward to having Re-Leaf complete my front yard. read more

Services rendered were great. Called Mike on the Saturday before Memorial Day and he came in 20 minutes to give me an estimate. His bid was not the lowest that I received, but I read the great reviews here on Yelp. His bid included rototilling, sprinkler head replacement/repair, valve replacement, new bark in the planters, and new sod installation. Albeit coming late than first indicated, Mike and team came and went straight to work in the blazing hot, sunny day. Mike also programmed my sprinklers for me for them to come on. There was a problem in the beginning that the sprinklers were not functioning, or the stations would not come on at the time it was programmed, but Mike figured it out and got everything to work. All-in-all, the work that was written up on the bid was done minus the rototilling - which Mike explained that was going to be impossible with the tree roots in the area where the new sod was being installed, but the dirt was nice and moist just after being watered. Paid the agreed upon price from the original bid, and they cleaned up and hauled everything away. Mike was kind enough to check up on the sprinkler issue the next day, to which there have been no problems thanks to him fixing it. It was a little bit irksome being asked to leave a review multiple times (which I already said I would, and am usually happy to do). It was mentioned once after placing my deposit, asked for after services were rendered, mentioned after check up on the next day, and asked for again the day after (today). I would contact Re-Leaf again for any landscaping projects in the future. read more

Mike and his crew did a fabulous job on my yard. The transformation was incredible and the attention to detail was top notch. I had them tear out 13 years of ivy and bushes in my side yard and lay drought-friendly Rock. Looks great. And I had them tear out my dead grass from the backyard, reorganize my sprinklers, and lay drought friendly St Augustine sod. They even added drip line to my trees. We had Michael do the patio project and one of the stones fell out twice. We emailed him about it, and it was promptly fixed the next day. Also, we decided to do the landscaping and sod ourselves to save money, and even though we didn't hire him to do that, he was very gracious in giving us advice, hints, and even linked us up with some other vendors to get better pricing! I called Mike at Re-Leaf Landscape because of the great reviews I saw on Yelp. I was definately NOT dissapointed. Mike stopped by and gave me a great estimate on the cost to replace my entire front lawn (which I killed off while trying to get rid of weeds). He and his team showed up, were respectful, fast, efficient, and did an awesome job on my new beautiful green lawn. They cleaned up when they were done, and the only trace they left was the lush and beautiful green grass which is thriving wonderfully in my front yard. This is an overdue review for the fantastic work that Mike and the Re-Leaf Landscape team did in transforming our backyard into a beautiful space. When we started the process late last year, we contacted several contractors to come out and walk through the property to give us ideas of what we could potentially do with a range on the budget. I had all my front lawn removed and replaced with weed barrier / mulch as well as some concrete work done by installing front steps and a driveway extension. All the work turned out excellent. There was good communication with Michael and all of the workers the entire time. Mike is an amazing guy! I had an irrigation pipe crack underground beneath my valves. My gardeners dug it out but could not fix it. I had to turn the water off to my entire property. A plumber came right out within an hour, took one look at the muddy mess, and told me to call an irrigation company. I called every company within a 20 mile radius and the soonest appointment was a week away, even after I explained I had no water to my house. Although Re-Leaf is 40 plus miles away I called in desperation. Mike interrupted his packed schedule the very next morning to drive all this way to help me! I contacted Michael for our front yard sprinkler system repair as a recommendation of my neighbor who had sod work done. Michael was able to come out the very next day for the inspection. The inspection seemed very fair and any question I had was quickly answered. I don't normally write reviews but felt I should to provide a bit more information about Mike and his crew since there are so many choices when it comes to landscape. Like many do, I had a few different people come out to do a bid for what I had in mind. Of the people who came, Mike's experience was what stood out. He's been doing this for a while and it's obvious because of his attention to detail and the pride he puts into his work. More importantly, while most experienced contractors tend to undermine people like me who has no experience in this trade, he listened to what my wife and I had in mind, gave appropriate recommendations without trying to up-sale and provided us with a beautiful yard. His entire crew was very professional, respectful and skilled at what they do. Most contractors around this area are extremely busy with the amount of new homes but he always made himself available. I can't think of a time where I would call or text and he didn't respond. Old-fashioned customer service, honest and sincere. 5 Stars with no hesitation. We wanted some re-design in our backyard. As others have mentioned, Mike is very easy to talk to, does not beat around the bush and actually listens to you. I'm an office type, not the outdoor handyman type. So needless to say I had a lot of questions before, during and after the process. One of the things I remember the most from my discussions with Mike is this response: "I've got you covered!". And in all cases that became true. In many discussions it was like he already knew what I was going to ask as his design ideas matched what I was thinking. He's a patient man also as it took close to two months for our Home Association to approve our backyard re-design. Once approved, he squeezed us in his busy schedule which was really appreciated. There is a reason he's busy, because he and his team do great work (see noted below). We are 100 satisfied when the completed work. Mike told us if we have any questions or issues don't hesitate to contact him. That was important to me as we've been burned in the past by landscapers completing work and then leaving forever. I would recommend Re-Leaf Landscaping 100% Note: the quality of work by Mike's team, specifically the cement design, turned out great. The only small negative I would add, and this is pointed at the team and not Mike specifically, is a little bit of laziness around existing landscaping that was not going to be changed. Existing small landscaping lights broken and electrical outlet box cover broken which to me are small things that even I can fix but I would have expected the team for example to move the lights if they were in their way. read more

Excellent service, work, and follow through. I would recommend Mike and his crew in an instant! I was looking for a local landscaper to redo our front yard and make it a "pretty" drought resistant landscape. We have a corner lot so there's a lot of property to assess. I saw multiple wonderful reviews on Yelp about Mike and Re-Leaf Landscape so we thought we'd give him a try. From day 1, he came out and gave us an honest, reasonable estimate with recommendations and suggestions all the while respecting what we wanted. The work was started when they said it would be, finished earlier than when they said it would be, and turned out even better than what we had asked for. We had grass removed, palm trees stripped, a stamped concrete walk way created, trees removed, drip installed, an island and rocks placed. Everything turned out perfect in the end! Mike was friendly, professional, prompt. His crew cleaned up after themselves everyday and left my home looking neat so I didn't have to come home to a mess while the project was taking place.
