We visited Redington brewery on a Saturday afternoon. There were plenty of tables open to sit with shade as well as Adirondack chairs. We brought our kids with us so they could play on the playground while we enjoyed a few drinks. There are snacks available for purchase as well as a food truck that serves lunch items. We stopped here after work on a cold and dreary day. One of the garage doors was open as they had been brewing earlier in the day, but inside was warm and inviting. The woman behind the bar was very helpful and friendly, and we enjoyed well-crafted IPAs and porters. Always a nice time here. Good beers (and hard kombucha!), lovely staff, great indoor and outdoor space, and on certain days there's also food trucks and live music. BYOF so we usually bring some takeout, but also noticed a lot of people bringing in pizza from down the road. What's great about this brewery is that it's also family friendly and dog friendly. Here was my experience: Worst food truck ever. 1pm open.. said oven warming up .. come back in 20 minutes. At 1:20 took order said 15-20 minutes. Came back 3 times after he said that .. final pickup was 3pm.. in the heat (90 outside).., with a baby.., he said " I told you it would take time" I respond.. "you said 20 minutes and it's almost 2 hours".. he said "I'm doing the best I can"... your best is not good enough.. plus food was below average. The sun was hot on the gravel lot, and the air smelled of peppers, onions, and bread. I started with the rice balls. They came warm, the crust thin and crisp, the inside soft with rice and cheese, a little salt, a little bite from the seasoning. They were gone too soon. The sausage and peppers came next sweet Italian sausage split and seared, the red peppers tender, the onions soft and sweet. The bread held it together, warm and sturdy, with just enough give to soak in the juices without falling apart. It was the kind of food that didn't need to brag. I've been to a lot of great breweries in my life and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. The whole atmosphere of this place is welcoming and the whole staff I encountered were happy and friendly. The layout is spacious and the beers are excellent. They had a food truck and a couple food vendors when I was there but I opted for a vegetarian empanada with cheese and plantains and it was incredible. My girlfriend got a chicken one which she also said was excellent. There was live music playing outside and everyone was happy and their kids were running around happy as well. I love how everyone who comes to breweries are so happy and friendly. Thats my jam and that's why I go. To see happy people and enjoy excellent craft beers and support local. Our family took my husband to Readington Brewery for Fathers' Day. I appreciated how kid friendly the brewery was, with kid level games, animals, a play ground and birch beer! We enjoyed our beers, and appreciated the food trucks! We were also above to bring in outside snacks. The only downside was it was raining and the playground was VERY muddy. Okay, I may not be a huge beer gal, but I am a sucker for big beautiful space where you can relax, hang out with friends, and have a good drink. Readington Brewery checks off all of the above. Lots of different brews and they'll let you sip and sample to make sure you are getting full glass of one that you love. This is another opportunity for me to thank the super nice people behind the bar for being patient with a girl who doesn't know what kind of beer she really likes. I've tried many of their beers as well as their spiked seltzer, kombucha, you name it. Be sure to check their events calendar (maybe their website) because I know they do a lot of fun things year round. They have lots of outdoor and indoor space, a playground for the kids (family friendly!), outdoor fireplaces that I am excited to sit by now that it's chilly out, and just great vibes. If you find yourself there on a nice day, be sure to walk around the hops farm (yes, they grow their own hops!), sit out on the picnic tables for some sun and play a couple games of corn hole. After living in the area for almost a year, I finally got around to stopping by Readington Brewery. As it was our first time, we went with two flights ($15 each for 4 tasters). I'm not a fan of IPAs so I went with their Choco-Nutter Porter, 1814 Stout, Red's Red Ale, and Beauregard Blueberry Wheat. My wife tried the Jägr Lager Czech Pilsner, Mt Fuji Japanese Lager, OBEN Hefeweizen and their local American lager. The Choco-Nutter reminded me of a Reese's. The 1814 had a strong roasted taste. I liked it. The Red's red ale was good but I think Ashton's Scarlet Knight is better. The Beauregard smells like a blueberry muffin and that's where the blueberry ends. I didn't get any blueberry notes. The Mt Fuji had a lemon scent and taste. I'm not familiar enough with Japanese lagers to know if that's expected. Of the four my wife got, she liked the local American lager best. There was a live band going on when we pulled up. Normally I check the hay cart parked on Route 202 for goings on. The woman behind the counter was very helpful in guiding my wife's flight choices based on her tastes. I'll definitely need to return more often. read more

Beautiful surroundings-in fact,this is my favorite brewery in terms of the ambiance. The beer,however,is not to my liking at all,but it's hard to debate on one's taste. I'm a fan of IPA but will occasionally have a stout-from the few offerings of those that are available,I don't like them at all. Having said that,staff onsite is lovely,and even if you get yourself some meh beer and find a place to sit with the view to their hops grown onsite,it's a time well spent. Kids have their playground,space is large enough to walk around with your pups-darn,they can even accomodate a car show among the hops! Located on their Hop Farm, this brewery has a farmhouse feel to it from the outside scenery to the indoor decor. Wooden Tables and industrial chairs (not very comfortable) which has a full view of the brewing tanks and process. If your lucky you can see the brewmaster in action. They have a moderate selection of brews available,(not as vast as Icarus in Lakewood) which will offer something familiar and something new to craft beer drinkers of all levels. There are no Food options beside packaged chips/popcorn. They do plan on having food trucks (at the time of writing 1/26/22) but DO encourage outside food to be brought or delivered. We sampled most of the menu searching for that "one" that was the star of the show. Needless to say there were many stars of the show here. The beer here is well balanced, hopped perfect and allows the full body flavor to shine through. The top picks: Patriot American IPA (Delicately hopped and easy drinking with firm body) Churchill (ESB). One of my favs, More of a Malty Hopped beer with a very silky body. Oben (Hefeweizen) Smooth Wheat Beer German Style with a noticeable banana flavor that pleases the pallet, a star is born! Hop Bomber (Double IPA) Don't let the name intimidate you. Yes it's hoppy but not overfilled for the sake of it. Citra and Mosaic Hops shine through in this very drinkable Double IPA. 1814 (Irish Stout). Excellent Coffee and Espresso Tones here with a hint of Chocolate. A Must Try! If you made it this far lol, thank you. Came here after hearing great things about the brewery and its play ground. Will start off with- great location and nice play yard for kids, beers were average. However, brought my daughter's toddler bike with us the day we went. There was a storm, and we had to move indoors. Left the bike by the railing outside and left it there by mistake (obviously My fault) But immediately called and followed up via multiple emails and phone calls and were told by the owner that they have bike in their possession and they'll hold onto it and we can "come anytime to pick it up" Since the place was over an hour away from us, we went 2 weeks later and none of the staff was able to locate it or were helpful. They mentioned the owner was out of town and he has a closet where he stores items that they do not have access to. After multiple emails, the owner finally replied saying someone must have taken it. We followed up asking how anyone could've taken it and received no response. Terrible customer service, non responsive owners, very unprofessional to not take ownership. They must've left the bike in a common place where the public must've had access to it. I Will not be returning here, and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Went for lunch at a place that doesn't serve food but I knew enough to bring it with me. I tried three beers. I had a good double IPA which was not overly hopped. A black IPA which was somewhat porter like. Black IPA is a style I don't usually like but this one worked. I also had a saison which was the winner of the three. A lot of craft saisons are "off" . This wasn't. It was reminiscent of Saison DuPont. They also have goats and a little hop farm. read more

I really enjoyed my time at the Readington Brewery and Hop Farm. This is one of NEw Jersey's first hop farm brewery. You can either sit outside and one of their tables or sit inside or at their bar. I chose to sit at the bar and take in the view all around. There's windows that let you see out into the field where the hops are growing. It's a brand new farm style building, with a simple decor. You can bring in your own food or have it delivered. The staff is super nice and well versed on all their beers that are being sold. Some of the sours and Bucha beers are made in smaller quantities, so they don't sell them in crowlers or growlers. I found this out when I went back the next day to buy a growler. They no longer had that flavor Bucha beer. I loved their Bucha beer so much, Instead my bf and I ordered a Cherry Grapefruit Bucha and it was also really good so we sat down and drank a couple right then and there instead. I met the owner Braun Kiess, he was so warm and friendly. He answered all of my questions and told me about the hop farm and that they grow hops for their beers in the back field. This place is also dog friendly. When you pull off of route 202 make sure you drive all the way up the hill towards the back. You will see a house as your turning in but keep going straight until you come to the brewery. I definitely recommend this place. read more

Now that I am retired, my husband and I can come here during week days, bring lunch from a deli and enjoy the excellent beers, hard seltzers and kombuchas while sitting in the airy loft like setting. The staff is friendly, and it is always relaxing to come here. The setting is large with an airy loft like building, a hop farm, picnic benches, a large playground and a goat paddock with amusing, friendly goats. On weekends, they have food trucks and many musical performances and special events such as October Fest with a goat race or the IPA Festival, amongst many events. Families come here with their children and all enjoy. My impression is that it is a relaxing hang out for locals, and indeed, since we live nearby, we come here often. Then afterwards, we ride down 202 towards Flemington and pick up some delicious organic meat at Vacchiano Farms and excellent chocolates at the Fudge Shoppe, both in Flemington on 202. read more

It pains me to say this, but there is a distinct irony aftertaste in all of the beers that I tried. Located just off route 202 near Flemington, RB is an inviting small brewery with quaint traditional pine interior and plenty of picnic table seating outside in a farm atmosphere. No food. Country music in the background and live music on Saturday night. One huge TV no sound with sports on. Very nice service - kind people. Only open since November, most of the patrons looked like they ordered flights to try the different beers. I ordered two flights and tried eight different kinds of beer. Their two best sellers are the patriot and the Churchill neither of which I liked that much but it's all personal taste. I liked Oben heffewiesen and Ludik stout, that's it. I saw one growler of beer go out the door. I really would have loved it if I liked their beer, but I don't, so I won't be back. read more
