I would like to start by saying that the whole staff was amazing with my son Jacob. Jacob was scared to start school and to mingle with kids. Mrs Raelynn was very patient with him. I have had all 3 of my sons attend Ready Set Grow for 1-2 years each. RSG checks all my boxes: - The teachers are caring and nurturing while modeling boundaries and patience. - Lots of Play! My daughter was enrolled at this school over the summer, and she created so many wonderful memories here. She was even potty trained during her time at the school. Teacher Stephanie was always kind, encouraging, and supportive (tysm). The monthly activities were very interactive, and the summer program was full of fun water activities that my daughter absolutely loved. My son attended this program for one year. I am thankful for the staff and their expertise in helping children grow! Staff are organized, full of fun ideas and children respond well to their approach. Two of my sons attended one is now an alumni however I will forever be grateful for this school. One of my sons is very well behaved and my other son is a bit on the wild side. They always worked with him regardless without making him feel like he was in trouble. They showed so much patience with him and all the teachers were very compassionate. My child was here from 3 years old to just recently 5 years old . We had such a great experience. My child learned alot and grew out of his shell. They worked with me when he wasn't listening. Summer program is great! Because all the kids do is have fun but all while learning. They approach kids in their individual way. Quality of education he got as great! My son loves it here. He's been going for about 6 months. He runs in every day and the teachers treat him like their own! Even in the beginning when he would have some tantrums they would always work to make him feel better. Omg What unprofessional place, why is this child care even open?!! First of all, The teachers ..very unprofessional & I mean don't even watch over the children. I caught several on there phones instead of assisting the children The daycare it self looks dirty & very outdated. It needs a lot of organizing and DEEEP CLEANING. Ms. rosa has my child in circle time while she's on her phone talking to her boyfriend. How rude and unprofessional I also seen how Ms Vanessa treats those little toddlers. Honestly I have been coming here for 10 years with my 3 children. And needless to say this has been the best child care facility I have been to. Due to Covid I thought my sons experience of going to preschool would be ruined and not valued as much as it should. However it was still a very special time for me to remember even during a pandemic. It is always clean and smells amazing when I pick up and drop off. They are doing an amazing job with the covid guidelines. Would definitely recommend. This is not just a day care it is a school and for that I love. I would not recommend you bring your child here! My son was there for 3 months. To be honest, I did love Bernadette, Rosa, Natalie Felicia and Tiffany, but all but 1 left in a span of one month and I started to notice a huge difference! The kids are being watched by girls who look like teens. Now there is about 14 kids to one teacher. The place is really outdated and looks rundown to begin with but I didn't have much time to hunt for a school. The reason why I left is because I realized the owner, Elizabeth, DOES NOT CARE about the kids safety. I messaged on the Procare app about my concern regarding a camera because when dropping my son off I entered through an open gate and knocked on a door where there is no window or any way to see who they are opening the door to. I didn't receive a response for more then 24 hours. When I did someone name Erika responded that the owner said she is "waiting on an approval from the city to renovate and then AFTER that she will add cameras. I then messaged her back that a ring camera cost $300 and that I felt she didn't care about the kids safety because it could be anyone who opens that door and nowadays things are crazy. I told her my son would not be returning and ironically she responded within 40 minutes. Elizabeth told me that nothing has happened there in the last 30 years and she all of a sudden told me she was putting in a camera this weekend. I also told her we fundraised for summer toys the first week I was there and have yet to see any new toys . I raised 300$ enough for a camera and I drove by because it's down the street from my job and STILL NO CAMERA!! The place is dirty and outdated with wood chips which is so 1990s! Also I don't think they have been changed out like they are supposed to. My son had a splinter in his foot and always had to check his shoes because they would hurt his feet not to mention the dust from them being EVERYWHERE which can't be healthy for the kids to breathe! It seems like Elizabeth looks at each kid as a paycheck and has tight pockets. I was going to post screenshots of our conversation because you can really see her lack of interest for the kids. Let me start off with saying all the staff at this school is 100% profesional and you can see they care about all of the kids they get each and every single day. About two years ago my husband 2 kids and I moved into the uptown whittier area and were in need of a preschool for my oldest daughter whom was 2 at the time. They helped me with her and would give me daily reports on her eating and behavior, 1 year later my son joined as well meaning I had two toddlers in two separate Classes. My son had a a very bad habit of biting but they helped us through it and the teachers worked one on one with him to make sure this wasn't an ongoing issue sure enough the habit was broken. My son started using his words a lot more as well. I just want everyone to know how much time and appreciation they put into each and every student. Fair warning: I did not utilize any services from this school. This review is based on the 10 minutes my boyfriend and I spent in the office waiting to take a tour. We didn't even get to the tour before we decided to leave. I usually don't leave a review unless I have actually personally experienced the place for myself, but I think it would be a disservice to the children and their parents if I don't share what I observed today. We walked in the office and no one was there to greet us. Not a big deal, just a little confusing as to where to go to let someone know we were there. We were waiting a couple minutes before I decided to knock on one of the classroom doors to see if the person we were supposed to meet was inside one of the classrooms. The teacher who answered said we can sit and wait for someone to show us around. None of this bothered us. What happened while we were sitting and waiting is what drove us away. As we were sitting, we could hear the teachers and kids through the door next to us. After a couple minutes we heard one of the teachers raise her voice in a very irritated way at one of the kids. Both my boyfriend and I didn't like the sound of that. He suggested we leave right then, but I hesitated. I've been known to give people the benefit of the doubt to a fault. With that being said, I still suggested we wait and at least take the tour since we were already there, but I did feel unsettled inside. Within the next couple minutes, we again heard the teacher speak to a student in the same manner. Then again, saying, "I want you to go sit down!" After that, we had heard enough and we walked out. Now some of you might not think that's a big deal. From my perspective, it's one thing when the actual parent is talking to their child that way, but it's a whole different ball game when another person (someone you are paying to care for your child, someone who is supposed to be certified in child care, someone who is supposed to be a professional) talks to someone else's child that way. I'll be dammed if I leave my child in the hands of someone who is going to speak to them that way. Who knows how they're speaking to the kids the entire day, or if anything worse is happening? It's so hard finding the right people to trust with your child, and I'm honestly glad we were there to witness that behavior. I'm sure the woman who spoke to the child that way didn't know there were parents in the next room, otherwise she probably would have put on a fake face and pretended to be the sweetest teacher ever. Advice for the parents: be extra attentive when you're choosing who to trust with your children. Like I said, I didn't utilize the services at this school, so maybe I can't speak to their abilities 100%, but something I know for sure is I'm not going to be leaving my child with someone that doesn't have patience with the kids. Also, don't let them lure you in with the "promotions" going on. I was excited when I heard about the promotions, waived application fee, and the fact that they provide the lunches. None of those things are worth sending my child somewhere they are going to be talked down to. To the teachers: it's your job to be patient and care for these kids. If you don't think you can do that, then you're in the wrong field. Being responsible for a dozen or more children is a tall order and it's not for everyone. Shoot, it's not for me, and that's why I don't do it. You need to know how to handle these children in a calm and caring way, and you need to be someone these parents can trust. I hope whoever that teacher was reads this and uses it to improve themselves instead of looking for a reason to be mad about it or justify their actions. read more

My son has been attending RSG for about six months. He started before his 3rd bday with Ms. Vanessa. He suffers from a speech delay and since I enrolled him, I can honestly say that it has done my son so good in many ways. To start, he's reinforced and improved his academic skills. He knows his ABCs, numbers, colors, shapes, and even letter sounds. His speech has improved in a tremendous way. He can express himself much better than before. He talks in short phrases, he sings songs from school, and loves asking questions. He has improved his social skills and I am really happy with his teacher. Do not take your children's here. My son was slapped on the face by his teacher or so-called teacher they're not really teachers they're basically babysitters. After I complained to the owner who is never there she basically took are employees side not to mention that after I brought it up to her my son was treated and indifferent and so was I. After the slap he was hit on the head with a ball by one of the teachers. I happened to walk in and the teachers did have a ball in their hands my son was hiding underneath the slide on the playground crying hysterically and he told me what had just happened. This was part of the retaliation after I had reported the slap on his face, after I reported that incident the teachers denied that they had a ball and denied that they had hit him in the head with a ball. That's when I realized that they were all in it together because I did witness they had the ball when I picked up my son and he was hiding hysterically crying. Why would they lie about it they could have said it was an accident I mean things happen when you're playing with a ball. After I decided to take my son out of that school I went to pick up his belongings I spoke to the supervisor I told her that my son was traumatized and didn't want to go to his new school he hid under the desk and her response was to laugh right in front of my face. I was so angry I reported it to the police and two children services but because my son was too young they couldn't do anything about it. They don't have cameras obviously for a reason I had offered to donate, which they refused. Do not take your children here! read more

I've brought both my boys to this school during the ages of 2-3 I can honestly say that it was a great experience. My boys both liked the teacher, Ms. Vanessa. So far this is the only teacher they've had. She is kind and has a great way of dealing with the kids. She helped me with potty training my younger son, and was the one that suggested it was time to start. I always gets report on what went on during the day. My kids are currently enrolled and personally I enjoy the company of the teachers of the two younger classes. Only! They are well mannered women who put a lot of time and effort, in there classes! I genuinely thank them for the effort they've put in to my boys and my self, and making this experience a good one. One of my sons is about to graduate, and his teacher I'm not fond of. But my younger as a strong, likable teacher, which again very fond of. If she leaves, so are we. They are the only reason this experience with RSG has been a good one. The director on the other hand is NEVER there, her roll is basically non-existent. Supplies are not bought with appropriate timing! She looks nice and is, but she seems to take no part in running the daycare correctly or treating her employees with respect. I took my two year old to this daycare I was checking out the school and that same day I had to work when I noticed that they allowed boys and girls use the bathroom together at the same time I was confused and I didnt agree with it children are very smart. according to them they arent very smart. I asked the only teeacher there why are they going potty at the same time she said " oh they dont know any better" I was like wow! keep in mind that the ratio is 1-10 thats alot of kids for one person to handle. I had no choice but to leave my daughter at this school at the end of the day they ask if I can bring a TABLET for my daughter so she wont cry etc. wait what!! I have to agree with both reviews. I am looking for a preschool for my 2 year old and although it looks cute from the outside and the kids look fine, the staff's appearance did NOT make me fill comfortable. They appeared unhealthy, messy and tired. The administrator is lovely and informative. The staff should follow her presentation/appearance. Also, the 2yr old bathroom area looked messy and adjoined the eating area which 'weirded' me. The 3+ yr room had a 'convalescent hospital' smell to it and all the toys seemed pretty beat-up. So sad because I had high hopes for a good local preschool. Hopefully they will revamp and re-brand.....the search continues. read more
