Best greasy burger and wings joint in town. (we've been sampling). Eat outside or to go. Real nice people work there.

This had a good mixture of pistachio and almond flavours. It was mainly almond ice cream with pistachio pieces. The only difficulty is that 30% of the pieces were a little too big for the straw; probably this flavour was never meant to be used as a milkshake. I had to take tge straw out and such out the pieces from the other end. Review 2025-255

I tried the Peanut Butter Cup ice cream and the sugar-free Black Cherry. There are probably only one or two sugar-free options, but the pricing is really reasonable and definitely cheaper than the GTA. The Peanut Butter Cup was good, though I wish the chocolate flavor was a bit richer. I'd give it an 8/10. The Black Cherry was delicious and easily a 10/10. For food, I ordered the large fish and chips for $18. It's a great deal because the two pieces of fish are huge. The small order is $11.95. My picture didn't show it well since the second piece of fish was hiding underneath, but it was just as big. The fries are super thick, perfect for dipping in gravy. I got a side of gravy and loved it. It had that classic poutine flavor without being too salty. The only thing I'd change is I wish the fries were cooked a little longer. Overall, I'd give the fish and chips an 8/10. The diner itself is much bigger than I expected. You order at the counter, get a number, and they call it out when it's ready. What's cool is they also have speakers outside, so if you're waiting by the path or at the picnic tables, you can still hear your number. Bathrooms were clean too, which I always appreciate.

Interior is weird with bizarre reviews everywhere. Restaurant was not very clean in the patron area. I can't say I've ever been unimpressed with the quality. I can't speak to the hot dogs because I've never tried them. Maybe I'm too conditioned to soggy buns or bland hamburger from every other fast food hamburger joint, so to my mind Five Guys' meat remains a cut above everyone else (McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc.). But, and it's a big one, the prices are very high for hamburger and fries. Given that the competition pretty much gives the drink away in the combo, it seems particularly egregious when Five Guys doesn't do it. The other drawback is the speed, or lack thereof, in getting the food out. Again, I'll cut Five Guys some slack because the speeds are roughly compatible to the competition, but it sure is annoying to watch higher numbered orders go out before yours. I would love to know why that is. Lastly, the decor is minimalist at best. Ambiance is zero. The eating area has rather a "face for take-out". I mean, why stay? Maybe that's their business plan, to reduce the need and costs to clean up. So in summary: the value is only there, barely, if everything lines up for you: you don't mind overpaying, the food turns out well, and is out fast, and you plan on going takeout anyway. If any one of these things fails, the value goes out the window. Will return, but only after some time to forget these salient points.
