Based on that promise, I proceeded with the service. When I returned to pick up my vehicle, I was surprised by the unusually low total and asked about the tail light. Only then was I told that the repair hadn't been completed and I would need to come back the following week. I do not have the ability to return due to my travel schedule, which I clearly communicated from the start. The issue is not that the work wasn't done--it's that I was led to believe it would be. Had they been upfront about their capacity, I would have gone elsewhere to avoid being put in this stressful situation right before a long drive. Extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency and reliability. I would not return based on this experience.

I don't write reviews often but Chet's deserves one here…read more I took my 2007 Honda CRV to Chet's (Vu), as I was having steering issues and some noises after recent repair from two different mechanics. Vu took it immediately for a test drive with me in the passenger seat. He could feel the same issue I did. He then put it on the lift and inspected it thoroughly. He wasn't sure of the issue exactly but was transparent in the discussion and thinking. Given the car had been worked on recently by others, I can understand why he would be hesitant to take it on. He noted that "my reputation is more important than one car" or similar, which I understand and respect too, as he said he has been in business for 20 years. He considered his best recommended repair with available information but wasn't pushing it, as it's a pricey repair. Looking to get a second opinion, he then had a different co-worker take another look. The co-worker slid under the car and was able to identify an issue, which was a loose bolt from the prior mechanic. The team right then lifted the car and tightened all the bolts, then took it on a second test drive, and the sounds went away and the steering issue seemed improved. Vu spent about an hour on this work combined with another 15-20 minutes from two or three other people too. After all that, he told me not to pay anything, though I offered! He could have pushed the more expensive repair and I would have very likely gone ahead with it, but he didn't. I need to test drive it further to see how it ddrives, but Vu said if still having issues to come back then to discuss where we go from there. For now, the sounds at least have gone away which is promising! Thank you!!!

Even though Vu was single handed and getting multiple phone calls, Vu was still very patient in discussing repair options. Dropped off my car around 9:30am and got a call back around 2:30pm saying repair was completed. Instead of having a couple of sensors replaced (~$300), Vu said he had found and replaced a rat chewed cable connector (~$60) that resolved check engine light. He charged me for cable connector and honest labor, and car is running fine again. I know where I will be taking my car for any future repairs.

I have filed a formal complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) and the Santa Clara County District Attorney. If you don't want your car held for ransom, stay far away from this place. I'm surprised that he has 4 stars review, I have no doubt it's all paid ones

I was gonna go to another place but they uncharged when I got there, but this place gave me a flat quote and didn't charge more when I got here just because I got a Tesla. Recommend this place. I came early and they were able to squeeze me in earlier too, so that freed up my afternoon. I waited outside under a tree, lots of ants, but good shade to enjoy the breeze. At 14k on a new Tesla, it needed an alignment. This is the place to get it done.

The ease of finding a 7AM appointment was key for me. Brought in my 2019 4Runner fr a wheel alignment. They told me it would about two hours and they actually finished in less than 1.5h I really appreciated the accuracy and attention to the detail while they perform the alignment . Also immensely liked that they would explain every single step of the process. They also found a couple of unrelated minor issues with the truck but they never tried to push additional services. I will take all my other vehicles here and I am pretty sure I can confidently say I found my new mechanics! Highly recommend to anybody looking for a reliable/trustworthy experience. I failed my smog check because of an EVAP leak. I called around to find places that could do smoke…read moretests. I called one place, told them I failed my smog check, got a read out of what was wrong, but was met with a "oh we need to run another diagnostic and charge $300, not including the smoke tests." I called Willow Glen Auto Electric and they as told they charge $149 for the smoke tests. Went in, provided the read out from the smog test and they found the leak in my purge valve. I was quoted roughly $215 for the part and labor. Tony, the mechanic that worked on my car showed me the part that was faulty and how it was leaking slowly. Showed the same test to me with the new part and finished the job in no matter of time. After fixing the faulty purge valve, they told me to come back after driving 50-100 miles to see if my vehicle was still throwing the code. Came back a week later, they plugged in the code reader and it was working perfectly! I would recommend everyone come here for your EVAP and mechanical needs. They are friendly, honest and get the job done.

They welded on some brackets to mount a new sway bar, and also installed some SPC aftermarket upper control arms. They also fabricated some new steering bump stops for my aftermarket spindles, and fixed an issue with the power steering lines that were causing my steering pump to whine. I've had my Trans Am for over 10 years and have struggled to find a quality shop near San Jose that I could trust with my car and my $s. I am very impressed with how well this new shop was run by Jason. The mechanic Nelson is an excellent, very experienced mechanic who had some great ideas on how to improve my classic car that no other shops had suggested. Jason also kept me constantly updated with pictures of the work on my car as it was performed, and immediately responded to any questions I had along the way. The pricing was very fair for the quality of work provided, and the work was completed quickly. I look forward to working with Lethal Built again in the future. I highly recommend Lethal Built!
