1966 corvette rear end after rebuild.

They rebuilt my 1966 corvette rear end after another shop in Livermore screwed it all up bad. They set all the tolerances to the specifications exactly. I couldn't be more pleased with their work and customer service. There price was very reasonable compared to the other shops in the Bay Area.

    Scum mechanics

These guys are the scum of earth. I took my 1967 Camaro here and had such bad experience with the owner and his employee. My rear was leaking and needed a new gasket but when they got their hands on the car all of sudden it needed a new rear end and without even asking they started the work. When I gave them an ear full about starting the work they were upset by my comments of such poor business practices. They were so upset they tinkered with the entire car. Leaving the shop my tire popped probably from their burnout test drive. The owner was so upset he wished my car would break down. Well that's what happened it started with the transmission which was replaced next and then the engine. . . Karma is a b and you will get what's coming to you.

Heard a lot of good things about this place so I had them swap out the rear end gears on my 1970 Plymouth Road Runner. Ricky and Adam work well as a team and went out of their way get the right gears on my priced possession.

    77 Trans Am

Adam and team did a great job on the install of my new 3.73 gears in my LS swapped 1977 Trans Am. I've had some issues with gear installs in the past but the gears and nice and quiet. They also took care of servicing it quickly when I got to 500 miles on it. Very friendly and fast service for much better pricing than other shops in the South Bay too.

Jeep gladiator diesel regeared Dana spicer 4.56 for better towing/ acceleration

I took my jeep gladiator to get re geared with Dana spicer parts and they got it all done in one day. They gave me a great price, were fast, and did a great job. If I ever need to regear something else I know where to go, now a days it's hard to find and shop that is fast and good. It seems like this is one of the few shops out there that still has quality and is proud of their work. Look at their reviews I'm not the only one that thinks so

Address. This the only place to take your differential
    Henry M.

Brought in my complete diff for a ring and pinion gear change as well as putting in stronger axels and a true-track limited slip. 4 days later it's a done deal. (My baby got back now! C; ) Mike was straightforward with the estimate and stuck to it. They saved all my old parts and even hot tanked the diff per my request. The work comes with a 1 year warranty. Ended up costing 1/2 the price of a new one. All they do are rear ends and they stay busy. That should tell you something C:

Took my car here for a full rebuild and new gears. Adam was very helpful and a cool dude. He didn't leave any info out about what needed to be done. Very knowledgeable about what he does.

I don't write reviews often but Chet's deserves one here…read more I took my 2007 Honda CRV to Chet's (Vu), as I was having steering issues and some noises after recent repair from two different mechanics. Vu took it immediately for a test drive with me in the passenger seat. He could feel the same issue I did. He then put it on the lift and inspected it thoroughly. He wasn't sure of the issue exactly but was transparent in the discussion and thinking. Given the car had been worked on recently by others, I can understand why he would be hesitant to take it on. He noted that "my reputation is more important than one car" or similar, which I understand and respect too, as he said he has been in business for 20 years. He considered his best recommended repair with available information but wasn't pushing it, as it's a pricey repair. Looking to get a second opinion, he then had a different co-worker take another look. The co-worker slid under the car and was able to identify an issue, which was a loose bolt from the prior mechanic. The team right then lifted the car and tightened all the bolts, then took it on a second test drive, and the sounds went away and the steering issue seemed improved. Vu spent about an hour on this work combined with another 15-20 minutes from two or three other people too. After all that, he told me not to pay anything, though I offered! He could have pushed the more expensive repair and I would have very likely gone ahead with it, but he didn't. I need to test drive it further to see how it ddrives, but Vu said if still having issues to come back then to discuss where we go from there. For now, the sounds at least have gone away which is promising! Thank you!!!

Honest car repair shop is hard to find and I would highly recommend this auto shop…read more Had check engine light on and went to Chet's Auto Care for repairs. Even though Vu was single handed and getting multiple phone calls, Vu was still very patient in discussing repair options. Dropped off my car around 9:30am and got a call back around 2:30pm saying repair was completed. Instead of having a couple of sensors replaced (~$300), Vu said he had found and replaced a rat chewed cable connector (~$60) that resolved check engine light. He charged me for cable connector and honest labor, and car is running fine again. I know where I will be taking my car for any future repairs.
