The ease of finding a 7AM appointment was key for me. Brought in my 2019 4Runner fr a wheel alignment. They told me it would about two hours and they actually finished in less than 1.5h I really appreciated the accuracy and attention to the detail while they perform the alignment . Also immensely liked that they would explain every single step of the process. They also found a couple of unrelated minor issues with the truck but they never tried to push additional services. Great shop, great service, great people! I was long overdue service on my 2007 Lexus IS350. I got the car back in 2017 with 85k miles and had basically only done oil changes all the way till now (125k miles, August 2024). I wanted to get the car ready for another 100k miles without any headaches. I saw some oil leaking in my garage and wanted that inspected and fixed as well. Highly recommend for anyone getting their car lifted! I bought the Journey Offroad 2" lift kit for my Highlander and contact a bunch of shops in the SF Bay Area for a quote for installation. One of the shops I reached out to was Flex Function. Straight from the first phone call, Jerry showed me how much he cared about and valued their customer. Even though they haven't installed a Journey lift kit before, they are aware of the brand and have tons of experience with installing other kits and even modifying cars. I was researching off road shops for months before I even had any money. The time finally came where I was ready, so I started to reach out to a few local shops in the east bay to ask questions and get some information but many either didn't have the time or didn't want to help new customers. I then started looking outside of my local area and started sending out emails. Thomas was super helpful and recommended a few options within my budget. I finally pulled the trigger on his recommendations. I had originally installed the Bilstein 5100 all around on my 5th gen 4Runner but is was sagging due to added weight. So I went with Bilstein 6112 (heavy load) with SPC UCA's and 5100 in the rear with Dobinson's 325 coils. Effectively giving me a 2.5 front/2.0 rear and the truck came out EXACTLY how I wanted. The guys even went as far as to loan me a set of rear coils till my new coils came in and notched the aftermarket front skid plate because my KDSS was hitting it. There was no way I would pay the dealer's marked up price for an oil change and brake fluid flush. My warranty just expired for my BMW M4. Before this, I get my services done at Stevens Creek BMW. That is where I met Thomas. He worked on my car for the last 2 years and provided honest feedbacks and recommendations after every services. Last time I dropped off my car at Stevens Creek, he mentioned to me that he's opening his own shop and I couldn't be happier to know that there is an honest mechanic out there starting up his own business. I texted Thomas and he was able to squeezed me in with a short noticed. My first thought was the shop may not be busy since it is new. Well I was wrong. When pulled up to the shop, they had 5 cars ahead of me. I got to see many nice BMW and Porsches. While I sat in the nice AC waiting room while waiting for my car to be worked on, I can see through the glass door how Thomas meticulously service my car. Not only he worked on what I came for, he went through all of the inspections and also aired all the tires. I had a chance to meet his co-owner Jerry. It turns out he was a long time mechanic at Honda. Now I know where to bring my wife's accord to. I love supporting local businesses and I know they will do well. Thomas, Jerry, and the team do great work. Earlier this year I brought my 3rd gen 4runner to their shop for a complete inspection and after speaking with them about the priority of needs, I had them update much of my front end suspension. These guys are extremely knowledgable when it comes to toyotas and understand the the realtionship between these vehicles and aftermarket parts. Other toyota specialists I have worked with in the past can sometimes roll their eyes at the wear and tear placed on these vehicles due to the abuse they can take from drvining offroad and replacing OEM parts but Thomas and Jerry are focused on providing great customer service and flawless execution of their craft. I just bought new tires and despite having free lifetime alignments at a chain tire shop, I brought my 4runner back to Flex Function because I know these guys will get my vehicle dialed and will provide feedback I can trust. I have been considering going with a local independent auto service shop for a while now for servicing my old Toyota Sienna, and decided to use Yelp quotes to check out local shops. Thomas from Flex Function Auto was one of the first to respond to my Yelp request, and after reviewing other quotes, I decided to book an appointment with them. The Sienna needed an oil/filter change and tire rotation, and I also wanted them to inspect the water pump to get a second opinion, based on an assessment done by a local dealership service technician at the last service visit. Thomas and Jerry performed the inspection and they could find no evidence of a water pump issue. Glad I got the second opinion, because otherwise I would have been out $1,500 for an unneeded repair! Overall, I had a great first experience at Flex Function Auto. The oil/filter change and tire rotation was done in a timely manner, and the team provided me with a very honest and straightforward inspection report with some things to monitor for the next service visit. They have worked on my 2021 Gen 3 raptor multiple times, which have included installing collars and spacers, mounting and balancing tires, installing springs and performing alignment.
