    Worst funnel cake EVER!!!!

I so wish I can give them no stars! In my 29 years of living this was the worst funnel cake I've had in all of my life. I was initially excited about this funnel cake truck because funnel cakes are one of my most favorite things to eat. So when I while I was walking downtown I just so happen to see the funnel cake truck in the park so I decided to finally try it out. I ordered a regular funnel cake with strawberries & whip cream. The guy at the window told me that they didn't have any strawberries so I just opted for the "strawberry sauce". About 20 seconds later I was handed my funnel cake in a Styrofoam box. First of all, WHERE'S THE CAKE? For a whopping $7 I got a bunch of pre-made, cold, stale, and crusty box of batter. (Oh don't worry I will be attaching a picture!) This box of crust had to have been cooked a few hours ago because there's no way they could have made my funnel cake in 20 seconds. I am so disappointed in this food truck and if Reba's Funnel Cakes is reading please do not take this review or any other bad review lightly.

I'm a student @ Howard U and decided to try out Reba's. The food truck was conveniently parked up the street from my dorm. The line was already pretty long despite the time (11:30/midnight), I ordered the chicken tender wrap combo with ranch as the sauce and a funnel cake. My order took awhile, but it honestly didn't bother me. The wrap is delicious! And fries are okay. The funnel is pretty small, but isn't bad, it's actually really good as well. A good combination of flakiness but a bit of doughiness. I paid around $14 or so dollars, a bit expensive but that's DC for ya I guess, I didn't fuss over it b/c it was birthday lol. Overall, I'd definitely return to Reba's! I want to try the fried cheesecake bites *mouth waters*

It's one of those spots you casually end up at and don't regret. The excellent service is the cherry on top. I ordered two scoops in a waffle cone: Earl Grey Tea and the Coffee Affogato. I buy pints of both flavors regularly, but something about getting it fresh in-store, in that cone, just hits different. And let's talk about the cone--because it deserves its own moment. It's so good. Warm, crisp, and giving snickerdoodle energy in the best way. Simple, classic, and consistently done right. Van Leeuwen doesn't miss.

The price is quite high, particularly given that I only got a couple of scoops with no toppings or cone. My flavor selections included an intriguing vegan bread pudding and a dairy-based hojicha (roasted matcha) which tempted me in favor of my usual mint chip. On flavor, these scoops delivered. I found the texture quite uneven with a lot of ice crystals in my hojicha flavor, which suggests some defect in the manufacturing or storage. The brand is certainly capable of churning out (so to speak) some high-quality products, but I wasn't impressed with this experience.

I was so excited, in fact, that I waited in line on opening day. While the flavors were indeed exciting, I found the flavor to be muted. I was picturing intense Indian spice that hits you in the face, only to be confronted with very mild flavor. I've been a few times since opening, and I think it's fine, but it doesn't live up to expectations. I've found the soft serve to be better than the hard ice cream, but it almost has too creamy of a texture. The yogurt soft serve flavor with cardamom was the best thing I've tasted there. The ambiance is fine, there is a small patio for warm days. The last time I was there the inside smelled like sewage, eeek!

Also the inside of the store smelt like marijuana pretty strongly. Ice cream: 1/10 - I ordered a scoop of banana peanut butter, which was icy and lacking in flavor. The second scoop I ordered was chocolate, meant to be the actual dairy chocolate, but given it's similar iciness and lack of flavor I think I was given a dairy free scoop.
