What a fantastic vegan cheese shop that makes the most amazing sandwiches! My friend brought me here for lunch and to trust that I wouldn't miss real meat or cheese in my sandwich and was she right!! I had the Italian pesto turkey and she dined on the hot pimento chicken sandwich. We chowed down on them. I left feeling so full and can't wait to go back and try something different next time! It's a cashless venue so make sure you bring your card!

I would love if we had something similar in Atlanta. This is seriously the BEST vegan cheese I've eaten. I really couldn't believe my eyes. The cheese looked so delicious in the chilled case, and everything I tasted was amazing. The service was fantastic! Cale was very helpful and recommended the happy hour special since I wanted something light and it was my first visit. I enjoyed a pinot with smoked cheddar, so yummy and I know why this is a best seller. It's smoky, bold, and good on its own. The balsamic fig and walnut fromage were my second cheese. It was soft, smooth, spreadable, and had a delicious flavor. My board also had pate, pickled veggies, jam, crackers, and crostini. It was the perfect charcuterie board, and I enjoyed each item. In addition to cheese, you can find sandwiches, salads, dessert, wine, and vegan items for a picnic. There is metered street parking, and you shouldn't have any problem finding a spot close to the cheese shop. You'll find tables in and outside. You can place a pickup order through their website. I'm looking forward to returning the next time I'm in Austin and trying one of their sandwiches and side items.

A-mazing. Who knew vegan cheese could be so GOOD. I love being vegan but usually dislike vegan cheese, so I was super surprised at how good everything was here. I sampled several cheeses and my favorites were the hatch chili cheddar, sharp cheddar, and truffle brie. The tomato herb fromage and everything fromage were really tasty but had a mildly sweet aftertaste which I wasn't the biggest fan of, however they had fantastic texture and would be absolutely delicious to people who like a little sweetness in their food. I tried their sandwich special which was called "Save a Chicken, Ride a Pimento" which was a fried plant based chick'n patty, jalapeños, topped with creamy pimento, Mellody's hot honey and a bun. If you like spice, this is the sandwich for you. It was so tasty, perfectly cooked chick'n patty, loved the crispy texture in contrast with the soft bun. I also got the side of pesto pasta salad which delicious. For dessert I tried the carrot cake which is from Celeste's and it was really tasty, moist and soft, although a little sweeter than I typically like (subjective). However it was still one of the best carrot cakes I have had, and I've had a LOT, vegan and non-vegan.

All three sandwiches we got were very tasty. I don't love lots of vegan food but these sandwiches with vegan replacement meets were yummy and had good flavors, and of course the cheese selection and tastes are really impressive. The sides were okay, and i really liked the drinks that we got! I was pleasantly surprised by the meal here despite me not loving this cuisine all that much

This is a gem in the Mueller district. We tried the *vegan* cheese in sandwiches and noted a familiar cheese-taste with a slightly different, softer, cheese-texture. Their pesto was especially phenomenal! Everything was tasty and we were pleasantly surprised. The lavender lemonade was sweet, so would maybe get it half or quarter sweet next time. Staff were friendly. Indoor was clean. Their vegan cheese is extensive and available for purchase; we can't wait to go back and try more! They *do* offer a military discount. There is mostly metered parking during the day.

I was watching shark tank when a vegan cheese company came to pitch. I was thrilled when I heard they were based in Austin, TX and even more intrigued when all of the sharks raved about the cheese. Ever since, I have really been wanting to try it! I finally ordered some for a picnic during Blues on the Green and it did not disappoint! Although I can tell it is vegan (though I'm not sure if I would have realized - for some of the cheeses anyways - had I not known), it tastes really great in itself, irrespective of being vegan or not. I think the truffle chèvre and the Brie were my favorite. The crostini was toasted really well (there is also a different type of cracker underneath the crostini pictured) and the Bacon, Brie, and Me had a great chewy texture and flavor. There's a little bit of nuttiness to everything but it's not overpowering. I would probably skip the pepperoni and sharp cheddar - I can see what they were trying to accomplish but it didn't quite hit the mark as a replica (very obviously vegan). I thought everything was packaged very well although I think the fruit portions were a little sad. I also loved the jam and spread included with the board. A must for any vegan, and fun to try for everyone else.

Located on a corner location in the Mueller shopping area with many other eateries and attractions, but it's a bit to the side. This place sells vegan cheeses - many their own - as well as amazing sounding deli sandwiches made from vegan cheese and meats. It's small but very friendly and a favorite, considering the other people there. I was terribly intrigued and stopped by during our trip to Austin. I'm not vegan but I'm vegetarian. I have forayed into vegan dairy substitutes and... I do like my regular cheese - but I must say... if all vegan cheeses were like the ones I tried here, then they'd get a better reputation. Before I continue, I must include that we also abstain from alliums (onions, garlic, leeks, chives, shallots). A large number of cheeses here contain alliums and all the fake meat does as well... so my eyes gravitated towards the cheese platters. My youngest is allergic to all nuts as well as wheat. The cheeses are all cashew based. So... the rest of my family were in the car while I went inside to treat my luck. Sadly, a number of the marinated/pickled items on the cheese platter also contain alliums. Luckily, they have a smaller platter as an option, so I got that. You get crackers, jam (I believe mine was strawberry habanero), and 2 2-oz cheeses. I actually ordered it first before I started exploring the store. It generally stocked what you could find at your cheese shop - antipasto, wine, crackers... and that amazing cheese spread. That's when someone came out and I got to try what I could have. I pretty much loved everything and because of my restrictions, I got to choose 2 for the platter... and I added on one more for kicks. So first off: the cheese isn't identical to the animal milk versions but they are very, VERY good renditions. The rind on the Brie? Perfection. Flavors are great! I ate half of it the day of and finished everything a few days later. There is a slight... aftertaste that lingers. Not unpleasant but something to note that hints at its plant based status. Great experience! Definitely recommend for vegans and non vegans alike. I wish I could eat more, but I guess it's good news for my wallet. I definitely told my vegan sister about this place, so hopefully we can return and enjoy the cheese dining in one day.

So excited to try these vegan cheeses!

I first learned about Rebel Cheese through a TV series we watched on plant-based eating, and then came across the brand again on social media. I've been dabbling in going more plant-based, primarily for animal welfare reasons, but for health reasons as well. My partner and I decided to order a variety of Rebel cheeses and give them a try. We ordered the following: -Brie -Truffled brie -Everything fromage -Smoked cheddar -Hatch chili cheddar OMG. These cheeses give the real thing a serious run for its money! The flavors and texture are on point. Very importantly, unlike some other vegan foods, they don't use a bunch of questionable chemicals. They use real ingredients including organic cashews, fava bean protein, assorted spices, and coconut oil (no nasty seed oils!). We will be ordering again, once we get through our sizeable stash. Thank you, Rebel, for filling a much-needed niche for people who love cheese, but want to reduce or eliminate consuming dairy.

I wish I lived close to this place so I could eat this cheeseboard every day! It's amazing!

I was in Austin and remembered that there was a vegan cheese place. I had seen on Shark Tank a few years ago. So I looked it up and I'm so glad I did! I'm met a friend here that I hadn't seen in a few years and we had a really fun catch up with a delicious cheese plate to split between us. If I lived closer to here, I'd be there all the time!

I swear everything on your menu is outstanding and the brunch menu is full of winners, I originally came for the Sir Laxalot but ended up with Meatless Miracle. My wife ordered the Twisted Sam and that one was fan freaking tastic! I ended up eating half of her sandwich it was that good. I don't know how they do it, everything is awesome!

Rebel Cheese is awesome! Everything is vegan but my non-vegan friends love it as much as I do. Fantastic selection of vegan food, cheese, bakery, snacks to build a picnic charcuterie, and wine. Staff is always so friendly and attentive. Be prepared to wait during busy weekend times while the Mueller Farmer's Market is going on, but it's worth it! Interior is super cute.

best vegan cheese shop EVER! and their brunch sandwiches are delicious. their brie and fig sandwich is so unique for vegans and amazing. i also loved the eggs benedict but that was my first visit years ago, and the last time i visited austin it looked like that was no longer available. huge bummer but i got the croissant sandwich instead and it was great. a little out of the way if just visiting austin, but if you're a foodie vegan it's worth making the trip.

Dai Due is built on the philosophy that every ingredient sourced in the restaurant is local…read more Starting with the drink offerings, every beer they offer at Dai Due is crafted in Austin. All the wines are made in Texas. Everything is local. The grains are local, the olive oil is local. The fats and butter come from locally raised animals. Creativity thrives under constraints, and these constraints make everything Dai Due stands for a strong selling point to me. This leads to an ever-changing menu based on the season's harvest and what's accessible in Texas. Okra is abundant in the Texas summer, so they got okra options. That's the gist of Dai Due. They are capital L local, and they're proud of it. We threw a 5:30 pm reservation down a few weeks prior to get a nice meal before our concert at the Moody Center across the highway. We arrived right at the start of our reservation time to a full parking lot. One thing they mention on the reservation page is to be warned of their small parking lot. Luckily, a guy was leaving as we pulled in, so we nabbed a spot. Once we walked in, we were seated pretty instantaneously. On their one-page menu, there were plenty of delicious options of appetizers, mains, and sides, plus the back containing wine, beer, and other drink options. I ordered the Meanwhile Brewing German-Style Pilsner on draft while my girlfriend ordered a glass of the Vermentino from Duchman Family Winery. For starters, we split an order of their Parisa. Parisa originates from the Medina County region, where my parents live, so I am quite familiar with Parisa. For those unaware, it's a ground beef delicacy (which usually means it's gonna be something peculiar and quirky in my opinion) made with raw beef, cheese, jalapeños, and lime juice. I've eaten my fair share of it while visiting, and it's usually served with traditional saltine crackers. Here at Dai Due, it's served with homemade tortilla chips. The Parisa here was way fresher than the kind I buy off the shelf at Dzuik's, as I could tell from the redness of the meat. Here, it was served with grated cheddar cheese, jalapeños, and diced onions, and presumably lime juice. It was delectable and was like a steak tartare with ten times more personality. It was probably some of the best Parisa I've had, and I've had it from the source. For our mains, I ordered the Wild Boar Confit while my girlfriend got their Spicy Aoudad Meatball Skewers. We got a side of their grilled okra to complement our meals. Honestly, the pace of how the food came out was sharp. There was never a lull moment, and it felt like once we finished our appetizer, our mains were coming out. The Wild Boar Confit was truly exceptional. The watermelon flavors on it were subtle but added a lot of character. On top of the brick of glory was fresh dill, jalapeños, mint, and a watermelon rind relish. It was really special. The confit really tasted like an upscaled and earthier short rib, packed with more flavors in the meat. It was so exquisite that after I gave my girlfriend a bite to try, she immediately decided that we would swap plates. It wasn't an ask. I couldn't negotiate. She made the executive business decision regardless of what the other shareholders at the table (me) felt. My fate was sealed. I would be eating the... Spicy Aoudad Meatball Skewers. I confuse ovine meats sometimes. An Aoudad is a wild goat-sheep. They were served on wood skewers with a chile yogurt sauce that was creamy but didn't hesitate to add an extra touch of heat. The cucumbers on the side were the only way to counteract the heat of the course and the morita salsa served with the Aoudad. The Aoudad was very flavorful, and the heat was manageable, but still strong enough to claim the spicy in its name. Sometimes spicy feels like they just mean peppery, and this obviously is NOT that. We ultimately had a 50/50 split of both meals, which allowed us to try more of what Dai Due had to offer. The side of the grilled okra was a much-needed differentiation from the intense levels of meat consumption we had, and balanced it with some much-needed fiber and digestion support. The pickled peanuts were a first for me, as they were almost like chickpeas in terms of texture. The curry mayonnaise was light but a nice touch to the sweet and almost nutty flavor of the okra. To close, my girlfriend got a glass of Valkyrie's Kiss's Blackberry Gold Mead, which was a nice closer to our great meal. Through the entire visit, the service was exceptional. The space is incredibly clean and comfortable, and they had a great playlist of music running on the speakers. We'll have to come back in another season and experiment with more of their spring or winter options. Dai Due is to die for! RIYL: A one-of-a-kind, locally-sourced meal down to the atom.

That being said, I have given you a little teaser. Now, look at their website to find stores which distribute their goods. How the heck is this cheese, you ask? It is not bad. Though I found the cheeses to be very one-noted and dry, they were definitely rich--this being the result of utilizing the feed for babies from well-treated cattle. The Especial, Seco, and Classico are all similar in texture, flavor, and overall character. In fact, they are not easily distinguished from one another. They would do fine as a secondary ingredient in a simple dish, such as tacos or quesadillas, but they wouldn't hold up to wine or serve well in a grilled cheese. For the latter 2 items, I would go with their Cheddars, which have a bit more bite. They have a wide selection as compared to other cheeseries in the Austin area, as many seem to really just go after the goat cheese fanatics. Nothing too crazy in terms of production and variety here, but give them a shot. The fermented dairy comes from Texas after all. The people who work here are also super awesome and are ready to take care of you when you have questions or concerns about where your cheese is going. Hehe.. you pay cheese for cheese.
