I came here because of all the 5 star reviews. My friends were visiting town and I thought it would…read morebe a cool experience to pickle at the Palace of Fine Arts. BUT THEY ACTUALLY MOVED.... I didn't realize that they moved to the Church Of 8 Wheels. Great business idea of the reuse of space but I felt like I was catfished. I booked reservations online they were $25 per person, in person it was $20... Its normally really windy and cold in SF and it felt nice being able to pickle indoors. Air circulation was not the best though. Improvement Opportunities for the Business: 1. Pickle Ball Lines & Roller Skating Lines were both white. The further courts had multiple white lines. It could be confusing at first. 2. Paddling Queue System was in the middle between courts. It was a distraction for me when I was playing because people were walking between courts to place down their paddles. 3. Dead spots on the ground... There were some dead spots on the ground because of all the rollerblading streaks. Also the ground was a bit slippery.

I've met so many great people, coaches, and really think my pickleball skills have improved by practicing here. It's a super fun way to meet people on top of getting an incredible workout! One of the owners, John, is very sweet and welcoming. He would watch when I play and give me pointers that have really helped improve my game! I've seen him do this for everyone and you can tell he's really passionate about helping others improve. Whether you're a pro at pickleball, or just learning, I highly recommend coming to DinkSF!

Staff is always friendly and helpful. I only play pickleball here so can't speak to the tennis side of things, but the pickleball experience is top notch. Shout-out to Joel if you're taking lessons. Patient, clear, actually makes you better. Try to get him if you can. If you are a complete newbie, a clinic or group class is helpful. Beyond that, I think they are a bit overpriced for what you get. Instructors are good but with that many people on a court, you don't get individual attention. They recently started offering smaller-group lessons which seems like a better format. Now the asterisk. Reservations are basically impossible. Booking opens at 12:30pm and courts are gone in, not an exaggeration, one second. Again, I'm not exaggerating. And even if you click at exactly 12:30:00, you still might not get one. I've also heard the owners aren't fans of pickleball and aren't planning to add more courts, which if true is a bummer because the demand is obviously there. Honestly the reservation thing is so bad I went back and forth on whether this should be four stars. But the place itself is so great, maybe it's just a victim of its own success. If you CAN get a reservation, it's unbeatable.

The grip size I wanted was not available but the front desk sourced it immediately and they strung it for free if you provide the strings. The string job was nice, tension felt right and it was done fast. Very nice club with employees who know tennis.
