I attended a wedding here last weekend and it was a beautiful location and well suited for the event . The staff were very professional and everything was clean . There were tennis courts and a restaurant as well as a nice room with a fireplace . Beautiful views of the city too , of course :)

I wasn't sure whether I'd been here before until studying the photos here. I actually had been to the golf club in Daly City probably twenty plus years ago, invited by a relative for their crab feast. But times have changed. I've heard this club many a time when my friends and I had a softball team in the City. The club sponsored a number of teams in various divisions and we've crossed paths over the years. I never knew about their physical location until now, learning that I drive by almost weekly during my grocery shopping day in shuttling my friend home. A friend who recently became a member generously invited our business group for a dinner meeting here on a Friday evening. It was a bit confusing parking here as I saw two signs, one pointing to the valet and the other to the golf course. I learned from my dining companions that the spaces straight ahead away from the clubhouse are public spaces. Better signage would help non-members and visiting guests. In walking in, the lady at the reception desk pointing me down and to the left for the dining room. The restaurant is named Lakeside Dining as listed on the reservation email. After passing the bar lounge, I reached the dining room where the hostess pointed me to our party's table. There were two menus available since it was the week before St. Patrick's Day, the regular and the holiday one (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=8YaTW4iC-tfBYTP0FFeusA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). I was torn given the Lenten season upon us. Here's what I tried: 1. Deviled eggs (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=uOC2WgG3wvD9zM1mRd92SQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), shared - Topped with a creamy filling of capers, parsley, and Dijon, these were light and airy, though the flavors were not prominent. 2. Classic shrimp Louie salad (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=zoYUTSUVPG87oWIIuW522A&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), shared - Shrimp, avocado, marinated tomatoes, deviled eggs, and 1000 island dressing. The shrimp were medium sized which led to the other ingredients to shine. 3. Clam chowder (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Nylg5u4YukxmonKlud_TNA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Made with fresh clams, mirepoix, potatoes, and chives, this is less thick than most versions though the flavor is very comforting. It reminded me of an old time defunct Chinatown restaurant that my family often frequented, mentioning this in a good way. It was perfect to pair with my heartier lamb entree. 4. Lamb shank (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=L1eNTLaz7ApKt0zyjeggvQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - This came with Colcannon with whipped potato, cabbage, green onion, and parsley; the lamb was fork tender and braised in a delicious sauce, not overly salty or thick. This reminded me of my favorite version from a place in the Mission that no longer offers this. *** The devil made me do it - Flip Wilson. I passed on dessert as my guilt set in. The waitress kindly added a birthday bonus to a friend's dessert order which brought smiles around the table. The restaurant was sadly only about 1/3rd full on a Friday night. Perhaps the typical evening fog that rolled in was a factor. Our waitress and the bus lady were efficient and treated us like family throughout the meal, removing empty plates, dirty utensils, and bowls as well as refilling beverages (hot and iced water). It was a relaxing meal and we were able to easily go through our meeting topics without any noise issues. Would love to tell you when I'll return. It'll depend on when said member invites me or our group again.

Great establishment with the classic decor and architecture you just don't see in newer builds anymore. While some may think it seems dated, it's dated in the appropriate way with large lounge chairs, massive inviting fireplaces, and ornate detailing from floor to ceiling. Personally, I really enjoy coming to The Olympic Club just to relax with a martini or wine with good company. For dinner, I had the arugula salad. Often times, arugula can be a bit too bitter or peppery but the salad I had just the right bite and proportion of salad dressing. For the main course, I succumbed to my childhood desires and had the steak burger with bacon on a ciabatta bun and a side of coleslaw. It was prepared well but I ate too much! The service was great as always with a veteran server named Chris who's spent over a decade working at the club.

Dinner at Lakeside is always solid in every category. It was our beloved mom's birthday tonight. She was a very quiet, humble and classy lady with impeccable manners-- and the family wanted to toast her in heaven for giving us life, being the best mom to us. We chose the Olympic club to remember, honor and toast her this evening. What a great choice! I would pass by this place while driving, and it looks like little from the outside. I was invited to lunch here at their club by my sister and her husband. Oh my goodness, when you drive further in, a whole new world emerges-where did all this come from!? It was a beautiful landscape with gorgeous views of the city of SF. We met here so we didn't have to fight for parking in the city; it was a quiet and beautiful place. It was very peaceful, overlooking the lush green landscape, which must be the golf course. They were setting up a wedding on the side, which looked like the greenhouse in Golden Gate Park with beautiful windows throughout and the greenhouse look. Plenty of parking. The restaurant reminded me of a Southern plantation feel, with wide porches overlooking the valley and hills, french doors, and an open veranda. We had a big party with plenty of seating. Food was fine (lunch was a 3/5 overall- the rest mostly had salads or sandwiches), but choices were limited with a smaller brunch menu. I loved their clam chowder (4.5/5)-it tasted fresh and had big clam pieces -so creamy. Their croutons were really good in the chowder, too. It was surprising that the packets of oyster crackers were stale, though! My dad had a huge breakfast with hash browns and eggs Benedict I believe. It looked scrumptious, and he enjoyed it. It really is a different world compared to the rest of the city -an oasis of serenity. Just the peaceful ambiance made me relax and just enjoy the day.

My boyfriend and I drove in here just to check it out and man what a gorgeous golf course!! There's a restaurant in the main parking lot area, but with my food allergies I didn't want to have to ask a bunch of questions. We drove around the golf course and loved all the views. Too bad I don't play golf, I would love to come back and just walk around the grounds. Very well-kept, organized, and beautiful scenery!

One of the finest golfing experiences I can recall. Whether Lakes or Ocean, member or guest - your experience at Olympic is going to be epic. Just expect to walk off 18 with your confidence shattered and a plan to hit the range before you try again. It is long, tough and utterly unforgiving. Loved every minute.

Tiger Tiger Woods Y'all. After sitting at the practice range during the US Open I came to realize he's not only the star of the show. He is THE show. He's Michael and everybody else is Tito. Actually Phil Mickelson can be Janet. When Tiger walked to the practice range the men started screaming like teenage girls at a Justin Beiber concert. But onto real business about the USGA, US Open, and the Olympic Club. Getting there: My first thought is very organized. From the time I pulled up to Colma Bart Station there were 20 buses lined up to drive US Open spectators to the Olympic Club. Couldn't ask for a better set up to get there. Merchandise: Unbelievable amounts of US Open merchandise to choose from. From paintings, equipment, and every name brand of clothing imaginable, each having employee representatives from each company to assist customers and restock. Very organized. Food: I thought for sure the food would be outrageously priced but it wasn't. At least not compared to a Warriors or Giants game. Bottled Water 2.50, 20oz Soda 3.50, snickers bar 2.00. Bill's dog burger: not so great, a dry burger in a hot dog form in a bun. 7.50 Tri Tip Sandwich: I would order this again. Decent amount of Tri Tip. Add a little mayo and onions and I was content. Dungeness Crab Cobb Salad: best option of food at the US Open. Bacon, blue cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and of course crab. A large portion and a nice combo of ingredients. Golf Course: amazing visuals. In the newspaper it's described as "Beauty and the Beast". I guess it's beautiful to spectators but a beast to the golfers. Lexus set up nice activities with autograph signings and photos. But the reason for one less star is NO CELLPHONES ALLOWED. This is all I got to say about it in this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw9oX-kZ_9k&feature=youtube_gdata_player The separation anxiety I experienced from not having my iPhone for 7 hours was terrible. USGA, whatcha talkin bout Willis!?!? That being said its a great event. Unfortunately the US Open comes around about as often as Halley's comet. Ok, maybe not that long but every 16-20 years. But if you didn't get the opportunity this time there's Pebble Beach in 2019.

The Olympic club is a stunning wedding venue! Situated on the far west side of the city, you are far enough way from the hustle and bustle. The venue itself has gorgeous hilltop views of the ocean. Inside the venue is clean and well decorated. I love the dance floor area with the large glass windows! So perfect for anyone wanting a classy and private spot to get married

I loved the walk through SF's history, and felt engaged at every hole. I like billiards so I loved one of the later holes that challenged you to use your putter as a pool cue. The actual square footage of the course is not very big, but they pack a lot in the space they got. I didn't try the food or drinks but there was ample seating. Drinks but not food were allowed on the course itself. All in all not a bad way to spend $20 for a fun evening!

I'm not the biggest mini golf fan but found it to be quite fun. I ended up losing by 1 to my nieces boyfriend so that just means we'll have to run it back for another 18 in the future. To play it was $19 a person (adult price is 12 years of age or older) If you are going, definitely ask for a shorter putter if they have it. It's easier to control as the one I used was pretty long and felt awkward to putt with.

This was my first time playing the course in like 8 years, and I forgot how beautiful this course is. The course itself is on the tougher side, but fun for all skill levels. It definitely challenges all different parts of your game. Even with the rain, the course drained pretty well. Bunkers were in a good shape (I'd know, I hit into plenty of them lol) Something I never experienced before in all the years playing golf was that I had to share a cart with a random player. I got paired with a group of 3, so I ended up sharing a cart with the 3rd. Luckily I'm comfortable enough to do this and the guys I played with were fun. It's something to think about if you are a single, that you might have to share a cart with a stranger. If that's not your thing, I'd prolly walk with a push cart. It's a hilly course but it's a good walk. Pace of play is a bit slow (expected on the weekends) so plan for a 5+ hour round. They had some issues with the conditions of the greens, which is much better now than it was back in the fall but at the time of writing this, they are offering a 15% off green fees, which is notated on their booking website. Recently they made a change to their parking lot, where you have to pay ($3/hr or $15/all day). On top of the green fee, you'll have to pay $15 just to park. I get it's to support the Presidio but with the green fees the prices they are I feel like that's plenty of support. Not a deal breaker but definitely carpool if you can do your group can save some cash for drinks at the turn instead. Overall, as I try to play every course in the Bay Area, price aside, is easily one of the most beautiful public courses you'll find in the Bay Area. Definitely will be playing again.

For the winter, they have mats that you tee off from, but I heard they are going back to traditional tee boxes in a couple weeks. To play it's $23/25 if you have a SF resident card, $50 for non-residents. I think for the price $50 is a bit steep for a par 3 course, when you can play lincoln or sharp park for slightly more and you get double the holes and get to play every club in your bag. Totally worth it for practice if you get the resident rate though. Tee times are all done online and is strongly recommended. This is an older muni course (maybe 100 years old) but renovated within the last 25 years to make…read moreit PGA Tour sanctioned, so tournaments could be played here. Very rare for a muni course to be given these specs. So now this ain't your basic muni course anymore, it is now more premium...in greenkeeping, in price and demand to play. This was my first time playing on SF soil and I play almost weekly. I've played a few spots in Monterey, Half Moon Bay and this course has visually the same terrain, with coastal wet mornings and cypress trees all over. Now this course has no ocean views, but Lake Merced is visible from a few holes. I was enamored with the cypress tree lined fairways and the beautifully maintained grass all over. Now with all this high level groundskeeping, though beautiful is also where all the challenge is here. Because this course is fairly flat, they're using the cut of the grass to be the challenge or the penalty. The rough cuts here are borderline insane. A good challenge for a pro/near scratch golfer but very penalizing and difficult for an average to high handicapper. A 3 inch rough doesn't sound too bad, but it is long enough that if your ball touches this rough it will 1) be hard to find, unless you are on top of it; 2) lose any roll/distance as once in this rough, the ball will catch and stop, giving you a longer distance for your next shot; 3) it is hard to make a connection in this rough so that next shot will usually not be flush/ideal. So the basic gist of this place is 'stay away from the rough'. But for an average golfer that is just so improbable. Even a nice shot to a green that may miss just by a couple of feet could easily find this rough. And to be that close and to have a very difficult shot as a result, is just too much for me to swallow. Just took the fun out of the game...for me. So a tad too difficult for me, also pricier than what I could do on a weekly basis. $150 to walk on a weekend. My regular golf buds and I usually play much performance friendly courses for about $70ish. So this is definitely more of a special occasion type place. I still want to come back someday and see how I fare now that I know how things roll...or more accurately how they don't.

The Hispanic male employee I interacted with was unfriendly, unapproachable, and unable or unwilling to answer even basic questions, repeatedly telling me to contact sales. While I understand that sales handles bookings, I expected someone who works at the venue to be able to provide some level of assistance or information. Unfortunately, his attitude remained the same during the event. Several things that had been requested were not set up as discussed, and the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. What upset me most was that some of my guests arrived carrying water bottles, and this employee openly told me, in front of my guests, that he would kick us out if he sees outside drinks again. I found this incredibly embarrassing, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. The experience became so uncomfortable that many of my guests left early. Considering the amount spent, I expected professionalism, hospitality, and a welcoming environment. Unfortunately, we received the opposite. I would not host another event here, nor would I recommend this venue to others looking for a place to celebrate an important occasion.

The course was set up…read morefor the qualifying matches for the SF City Championship, and the greens are actually puttable! Combined with the nice weather, the course is dry and playing faster than normal. I wish they'd maintain the course like this year round because if the greens were as a good as they were this past weekend, it'd be one of the best deals for public golf in the Bay Area. Plus you can't beat the views on a clear day of the Golden Gate Bridge. We came here this past Sunday without a tee time and were able to get 2some out with minimal wait. Making a tee time in advance is definitely recommended but if you are looking for a last minute way to get out to the course, walking on is possible. Since it was a hot day, we decided to get a power cart which is $50 for two people. It's a cart-path only course, which is a bummer but since it doesn't typically drain well, it makes sense. $50 for a cart is kinda steep considering the carts are standard and don't provide any type of GPS or anything. The course is very hilly, so even with a push cart, it can be a strenuous walk. Like I mentioned in the beginning, if you were thinking about playing Lincoln, now would be a great time since the course is in great condition.

Definitive pros and cons, but for the price and views it's pretty unbeatable in SF. Knocked one star because the greens were punched and we weren't told (as in, not even when checking in at the pro shop, found out on the green of hole 1).
