**$200 gift card not honored and no refund or response**…read more On May 10, 2026, I purchased a $200 gift card from the San Clemente iTAN location using my Chase debit card as a birthday present for my wife. When my wife attempted to use it on June 3, the employees said the card was not working and denied her service. She attempted to use it again approximately two weeks later and was denied a second time. She was promised a callback but never received one. On June 17, she called the store again and was promised another callback. No one called. I went to the store personally that same day and was told that ownership had changed and that gift cards purchased before the ownership change were not working or being accepted. I requested a refund. The employees contacted a manager and told me that corporate would handle it, and someone would call me. No one did. On July 16, after receiving no response for nearly one month, I returned to the store. I was told that the manager would call me within two minutes. That call never came either. The business has my $200. The gift card has never been used, and we have received no service, replacement card, store credit, refund, apology, or meaningful response. An ownership change is an internal business matter. A customer should not be left with a worthless $200 gift card and no person willing to take responsibility. I have now submitted a written demand for a full refund and contacted Chase regarding a dispute. I will update this review if the business resolves the matter.

And by the way, I was finally able to talk to the director of operations (Lacey), who ultimately offered me a couple of "red light therapy sessions", and a lot of excuses for her staff's behavior. I couldn't be happier at my new Tanning Salon "Rockstar Tan". There prices are MUCH LESS THAN PALM BEACH; no ridiculous add-on fees and most memberships are all-inclusive. You NEVER need to wait for a bed or a spray booth at Rockstar Tan. They have shorter times and stronger bulbs in their beds, and they just got a brand new Mystic spray. They have a ton of beds. They also do custom air brush spray tans. The best thing is that the entire staff are wonderful. They have a great attitude. They're extremely helpful and very friendly.

While I understand that businesses need to remodel from time to time, I don't think it's appropriate to continue serving clients while the salon is in this condition. The environment didn't feel welcoming, relaxing, or professional, and I was uncomfortable throughout my visit. The technician did a good job on my eyebrows, but unfortunately the condition of the salon significantly affected my overall experience. I believe it would have been more professional to temporarily close the salon, or at least postpone appointments, until the renovation was complete. First impressions matter, and walking into a salon that looks like an active construction zone doesn't inspire confidence--especially for a beauty service where cleanliness and professionalism are so important.
