If you need big beams or interesting reclaimed wood for a project I highly recommend checking this place out. I built a bench from a cool old beam and the price was fair. They also have a lot of other hardware, handles, lighting etc. the lady that helped me was super nice as well. Not dirt cheap by any means but still worth it to me. read more

I lived in portland a lot of years and never have been to this gold mine. The layout is kind of chaotic but this place has acres of wood, doors, fixtures, plumbing. The owner is super helpful - always has a smile. We bought enough wood for a small table. It was 75 bucks. Hate to give away this secret but if you are working on projects this is the place to go. read more

I love Reclaim NW! My friend referred me after they did a huge home remodel. We were inspired to do a kitchen and bathroom remodel after we saw their beautiful reused beams, and reclaimed and mid-century light fixtures in their home. I was able to purchase enough beautiful reclaimed 3 " maple for the entryway to my home, a beautiful find. As well I bought two amazing doors for the bathroom and kitchen with incredible hardware. I have also found tile, and the most incredible score was a marble fireplace rescued from a home in NW. I pop in every week as you never know what you may find and I have a few other projects for friends I am collecting items for. read more

This is the most ridiculously priced used building supply store I've ever been to. Was charged market rate for old pressure treated wood that we got from the outdoor wood area where it had been rained on. And then again on some knobs that were just all in a bucket together. The process of pricing is supposedly that they look something up on a retail website when you bring it to the counter and then charge 50%, I have trouble believing this. They told me the knobs were expensive because it was a nice brand, only to come home and see that they charged me what a set of them from Home Depot would have cost. Their store is falling apart, with lots of visible mold on the ceiling and rain dripping through, which I guess is why they want to charge so much. Rebuilding Center is a much better, more reasonable resource for supplies. read more

So I see an ad on facebook marketplace for $1 reclaimed 2x4s. I reply to ask about what they have. Message is left on read. Ignored. So I go in. I need 15 2x4x8s. I'm expecting to spend $15. I'm told 8 footers are measured by the foot. 0.17 cents a foot. So quick math in my head says what I need is $20-25. No problem. Cheaper than new. So we pick out and load 15 2x4s. Halfway through this process I am handed off to someone else. And them I'm told the cost is $178 dollars??? After loading it! And $0.71 each! Brand new 2x4s are only $4! When I obviously object saying that's over #8 a piece. The guy tells me that I loaded it and that's the price. Responding with hostility. I couldn't unload those things fast enough. I have never seen such an obvious bait and switch. read more

Reclaim NW is a great source for lumber and timber, right in town. They source materials from buildings being deconstructed - old growth - much tougher than current lumber. They also purchased the inventory of an entire lumber mill retired by the recession. They have T&G, 3/4 boards up to beams. They have used plywood sheets. Live edge wide and long fir. Even though it's huge, this place feels like a hidden gem. I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews. A fantastic spot for reclaimed wood! Definitely the largest selection in Portland. Loved! On the hunt for vintage lumber siding to build a rustic shelter with a reclaimed look. Our carpenter friend told us about a new place on Sandy Blvd to check out. First impressions of the showroom included a rustic oversized live edge dining table, and many cool vintage pieces. Samantha gave us a tour of the lumber inside the warehouse, and was super knowleable and friendly. If you love wood like we do you're gonna love this place! It's loaded with old growth of every size, salvaged from historic buildings and homes. This is beautiful stuff: 100 to 300 years old which makes it more resistant to rot. We quickly found what we needed and Tracee gave us pricing and gave us a bit of history on the building and the business. Soft open 6 months (at the time we visited) the location is the temporary home of Reclaim NW until they find a permanent location. Fun fact! When they vacate the building it will be carefully deconstructed and repurposed. What will take its place is a building slated for affordable rent to teachers, social workers and others that work toward ending homelessness in Portland. Admire the huge wood beams and be sure to look up at the amazing curved ceiling in the warehouse while you're here. read more
