A post from ReBuilding Center's social media caught my eye, and I stopped in to see if the item would work for me. Unfortunately, it was a little damaged and I didn't want to take on the repair. But that's how shopping here goes: check the inventory frequently, cross your fingers that they have the right size or enough of the thing you need, and accept that even if it doesn't work for you it is going to a better home and not the dump. They've got inventory of all kinds, but I'd say primarily it's cabinets, sinks and tubs, lighting, wood, doors and windows. They do have a website with some online inventory and you can always call ahead to see if something is still in stock. I especially appreciate their education opportunities. I've taken a few classes about building tables, and a little free library, and I'm signed up for my next class with them about tiling!

This simply a cool place to go to get stuff for your home. That is, if you are a fix-it kind of person. This isn't slot A, tab B, IKEA furniture. This is sanding, refinishing, painting and make that cool piece work in your house. Reclaimed wood flooring, windows, doors, shelving, mantle places, molding and I'm sure fixtures were around as well. I didn't wander for too long. Huge places, a few buildings actually and friendly staff. Just look for the people with the hammer logos. Enjoy.

Well isn't this just a neat little place. Signed the girlfriend and I up for a date night for a class here to make boxes. Nevermind that it was during the day for four hours. I complain about the length of time but honestly it was needed. We were reluctant at first to sign up because neither of us have used any of the equipment and we were sure someone was going to lose a limb. However when the class was over we successfully used 3 pieces of equipment and learned things about a measuring tape that we didnt know about. Lots of "why didn't I already know this" moments. The class was super chill. The instructor was informative and cool. I would definitely come here again. The cost of the class was a little steep. About $100 per person but if you're lucky you can sign up for a full scholarship and only pay for the cost of the materials or a half scholarship which is half the cost of the original price.

Before going to your big box home improvement store, head here first. I have been here a few times now, and can say that I am fully and completely impressed. As a recent homeowner, I have discovered that essentially any home improvement or maintenance project seems to run on the high side and more over, to get anything g of quality runs even further into pricing. This place makes those improvements hurt the pocket book much less. The extremely spacious location is divided into multiple central areas. One for doors, another for plumbing, electrical and then lumber. Each area is well organized and full of options. Need a solid core door with a leaded glass window? They have it. Need to replace the trim on an exterior window from a 1920's craftsman? Yeah, that too. The rebuilding center resells items from prior renovations, tear downs and other sources, so you get a wide variety of goods to select from and all at a very reasonable price. Their lumber section alone, which has everything from old growth reclaimed lumber to new pine boards is worth the visit. I could gush about this place for pages, but let's just say that you need to start here for all your home improvement needs. The customer service is fantastic and selection is amazing. Parking is an issue, as it is right on Mississippi, but once you get in, you will hardly want to leave.

The furniture is of high quality and has a designer feel without being over the top. The pieces fit beautifully and comfortably into your space, adding to the personality of the room, reflecting your style without looking like a DWR showroom. Working with Erez was wonderful. I love to decorate and design so have my own ideas; being able to bounce these ideas around with a designer to validate or suggest alternatives was incredibly helpful. Especially since the furniture is an investment, you don't want to make a mistake! White leather lounge chairs are what brought me to EWF Modern. After searching long and hard online, I finally found the chairs I thought would be perfect for a bump out reading nook with fabulous views. No way I would chance buying online without sitting in the chairs, seeing the workmanship, the quality of the leather and materials, and the visual size. Plus, I want to support our local businesses. The chairs are exactly what I had envisioned! While they don't offer delivery on these chairs, for a small fee they will assemble the chairs and I will ask a friend with an SUV to pick them up. I will be ordering soon and am already considering a coffee table and rug! Ditzy, the French bulldog, is adorable! As soon as I saw her, I gave her some love in the form of back scratches and that was all it took to become her BFF. The cherry on top of the EWF experience.

My wife and I visited the store to look at BDI brand furniture options and ended up in front of a BDI Sequel sit/stand desk that was marked as a discounted floor model, with a separate, higher price if it included the keyboard drawer as it was configured. During that visit, the owner told my wife that if we chose the lower-priced option, they would remove the keyboard drawer and use it on another floor model when it arrived. Based on that information, we left to think it over and returned roughly an hour later to purchase. However, when we came back, the original pricing and option were no longer on the hang tag, and a hang tag with the higher price was in it's place. When I asked whether the desk could still be purchased without the drawer as previously discussed, the response was dismissive and unexpectedly confrontational "what would they even do with a detached keyboard drawer." - how about what you said you would?? In other words, we were treated like idiots who couldn't remember a simple conversation from an hour earlier. At that point, the issue wasn't just the price -- it was the way the situation was handled. To be clear: changing your mind about a deal is one thing. Gaslighting your potential customers and talking down to them is something else entirely - the interaction was condescending and dismissive of what had been clearly communicated earlier. We ended up walking away, and while we only live two blocks from this place we will go to Beaverton to Parker furniture or up the street to Kitchen Kaboodle as they are both BDI dealers with a much better customer centric approach. Unfortunately, this experience left us with no confidence in the consistency or transparency of the sales process here.

I'm in the market for an Eames molded plywood chair--if I buy it here, with the current sale, it will be about $400 more than an online store. However, it will be an authentic Eames chair. This store gave me a chance to sit and decide on the chair's comfort for my body--that's vital to my process. I like how the people who work here were well stationed throughout this massive showroom, but gave us space to look, touch, sit and talk. When we needed help, they were immediately responsive, knowledgeable and efficient. Our order was handled quickly and professionally, and all our questions were answered.
