This bar is awesome! In the past two years this bar has become my local hangout. Jade and Rosey are awesome bartenders and they do a killer job of making the place feel like home for locals. On Tuesdays and the weekends local business Howlin' Tacos served great Austin style tacos with handmade tortillas. They're cheap and fresh and even have vegetarian options! The drinks are about on par for the area, if a little bit cheaper than average. There's a cool setup of indie video games in the back and a large shuffleboard table. The crowd is mostly locals and very friendly, but definitely gets packed on evenings later in the week. This means the wait time for drinks tends to get a bit long, but be patient and polite and the bartenders will treat you well! Great bar, a nice date spot, and completely queer friendly. I would recommend the bar, but I would love to keep this place a nice hidden local gem! read more

Easily my go-to bar in the neighborhood. Drinks are great (recommend the "Something Clear"), crowds are never obnoxious and the bartenders make you feel right at home. There's also an outdoor area tucked away in the back, which is a total gem. AND they recently started doing a taco brunch on the weekend that is killer - queso for days. read more

Stopped by here before a concert at Brooklyn Steel. Happy hour runs until 9pm which was really nice ($5 drafts & wells, $6 wines). The bartender was really nice and I really enjoyed the tacos here as well. They were really accommodating about making veggie tacos even though it wasn't on the menu!! read more

A great neighborhood bar, Reclamation features a nice-casual atmosphere, plenty of seating, a kitchen residency program (currently Howlin' Taco) and a great cocktail list (their house wine is pretty good too.) There seem to be a lot of regulars (always a good sign) and price wise for the area its what you would expect. Overall if I was in the area I would come back (if you are going to a Brooklyn Steel show this is a great pre/post show option), although I'm not sure if its special enough for me to go out of my way for since I don't live nearby. I'm happy to know that a bar in East Williamsburg has generated the heat it requires to stay open that takes credit cards, over and beyond friendly staff, and a warm and open decor that leaves you feeling comfortable and spaced out from the other group of friends that wants to drink with the intensity the bar requires. Let's start with the drinks. There's a bartender among all the pros here who crafts great cocktails, and s/he makes them taste wonderful. I had this pumpkin inspired one, and I literally thought it was a dessert. NO joke. S/he puts whipped cream on it! I literally drank one in a sitting where the bartender told me s/he recommended it, and I tried it, and then I finished it in two minutes flat. I don't even have to mention their name to regulars here. They are known and rocking it out. Another aspect I enjoy is that when there a ton of people in the bar, everyone likes to talk to one another or they like to collectively chill and then converse with other groups. This makes for great networking and connecting with other people who want to connect in the hood (Williamsbirg-Bushwick-Greenpoint, etc.) I also appreciate the music. I am a General Manager of a restaurant, and when they have a great DJ or bartender who knows what they are doing music-wise, I tend to be sitting and thinking when one or two songs come up, "I'm going ot definitely play this song tomorrow in the dining room." The bar is great. The vibe is warm and friendly. Blonde bartender (Brittany I think her name is) is super warm and friendly and makes a killer drink. Every time I come here I feel invited and warm inside. All of the other bartenders are awesome too. It's one of the only bars I actually enjoy when empty. I no longer go to harefield rd or Matt Torrey's since I discovered this little gem. Okay you got me there - I still go to harefield to see John. One of the best bartenders ever. read more

I came here with a friend before we saw a show at BK Steel, and I have to say I really like reclamation bar. When we went it wasn't overly crowded and there was still plenty of seating. The bar itself had the Brooklyn feel with dark wood, colorful seating, turquois wall paper, but still a laid-back feel. Bonus points for serving tacos, which I didn't get but they looked delicious. Their cocktails are reasonably priced at $13 each and they have some pretty good ingredients. I got the Smokey Paloma with Tequila, Lime Juice, Grapefruit Juice, Simple Syrup. It was very good. They seem to have a great happy hour that I would come back for. read more

Great new neighborhood bar. Have popped in a couple of times with friends, once on a Thursday and once on a Saturday night. Bar was busy on both nights - but didn't have to wait too long to get drinks. Service was quick, friendly- unpretentious. Good beer selection and also had an excellent hot toddy. A friend ordered a roasted turkey sandwich which was really good- toasted with a spicy kick. Cool decor (stained glass windows) and relaxed vibe. They've got a small outdoor space which would be fun in the summer. Definitely planning to add to the regular rotation! read more

Have been in here a few times with small groups (2-3) and a much bigger birthday (10+). Had a great time each visit. - Bouncer is actually really sound, remembers people and sometimes feels more like a concierge for this strange old fashioned establishment - Dark, candlelit old world feel, dominated by a sweeping bar that feels like it's been there 200 years. - Great Old Fashioneds (my weakness) - Outdoor (ahem, smoking) section out the back - Sound bar staff and cool patrons, mixture of funky boys and girls on both sides of the bar. Finally, great whiskey selection has got me in trouble once or twice. Enjoy! read more

Our bartender (short blonde hair) was repeatedly, ridiculously rude. One snarky, inconsiderate comment after another. On top of that she seemed completely hammered and barely functional. By this point, this place has been open long enough that I wouldn't call it a kink so much as poor judgment. Can't imagine ever going back to this place; not with Legion, Harefield Road, and Matt Torrey's all being miles better. I'll make the extra effort to cross Bushwick Ave. Not to mention opening at 4pm weekends, 6pm weekdays is pretty bizarre/inconvenient. read more

A friend of mine brought me here after my own bar shift was over and this is definitely one of the best kept secrets in the neighborhood. She said to me that everyone she's met there has always shown themselves to be good people, and I felt that vibe right away. The bartender, whose name I awesomely forgot because that's what I'm good at, was friendly and made me feel right at home. I was not helpful when it came to choosing my beer, "Something not hoppy" is all I could muster and he gave me something delicious. The bar itself is beautiful, everything is reclaimed, hence the name. There's a romantic, intimate, almost exotic feeling to the whole bar- but then it's full of down to earth people and Sunday football. My life needs more of that. Best place to go for a neighborhood, fun, friendly vibe! Cool people, great games, and probably the best Old Fashion I have ever had made by Garin. My boyfriend and I were visiting from SF and wanted to find a local, authentic Brooklyn bar and this was the perfect example. He played Killer Queen games nonstop with new friends and I watched Marvel movies and chatted with the awesome bartenders (Jade & Garin) all night - they made us feel so welcome! I highly recommend this bar if you want to have good conversation, high quality drinks, and awesome vibes. God damn I love this place! God damn!! They've got Killer Queen. It's the best arcade game ever, and they are the only ones New York to have it (or so they think. My office also has one. Hahahaha) Anyway, nice large space, never crowded, but always full of interesting folks. Reclamation bar is one of the best places to hang out in Greenpoint and have a nice cocktail. The bar is huge and a great place to come with a big group of friends. Connor is one of the bartenders and is super friendly and great in all aspects of bartending. Garin is super talented at making cocktails and always has a good recommendation if you're not sure what you'd like to drink. I definitely recommend visiting this bar if you get the chance! read more

It's an OK bar. It's kinda spacious, the drinks are ok. The reclaimed wood is tasteful and I like the big bar. It's just hard to get enthusiastic about. It is like so many other bars in the area. Walked past here a couple if days ago and curiosity got the better of me. A new bar opening up in my favourite neighbourhood! Standing outside was one of the owners, Bryan, so we started chatting and he gave me a tour. The layout is fantastic and you can already feel the atmosphere building. Bryan talked me through about his vision and his good old southern charm is certainly being reflected in what I've seen so far. Great layout? Friendly owners? Amazing beer selection? Count me in! errrrrmagerrrrd Came here with some friends one weekend night to check this place out since we live in the neighborhood. I don't know, the interior is alright, kinda going for that high-end mismatched hipster dive bar look. good amount of space so we got a place to sit even though it was pretty busy. Not packed, though, which was nice. But two of us ordered whiskey sours and the bartender took like 30 mins to make them. Maybe not actually 30 minutes but enough time where everyone was starting to give me looks for being that asshole who ordered a whiskey sour. It's not like he was busy making other drinks and took a while to get to us, he was just very very absorbed in the preparation of our drinks alone and prepared them with many a hand flourish and careful droplet of bitters. I don't know, I don't think they're super complicated drinks, there were several other people waiting to order (only 1 bartender for such a large place) and it just seemed a bit silly. I really want to like this place. It's super close and has a cool design and layout. Unfortunately it's one of the most inconsistent bars in the area for two reasons: 1 - quality of drinks and 2 - the music. Also taking away points for good food, but way too expensive for the amount of food you get. When the bar first opened, the owner made me a really amazing Old Fashioned. Since then, the same drink varied in quality. If I'm forking over that kind of cash for a drink - it should at least be consistent. It's a not a dive bar. Then there's the music... It's ranged from too quiet to thumping rap or dup step (you might as well just ask us to leave). Let's hope they at least stick to the same vibe of music or quality of drinks so I can decide if it will be my local go-to or not. read more

I come here nearly every day and I'm never disappointed. The bar staff understands how to accommodate their customers without having a set formula or idea how to do so. Whenever I've had any kind of issue, from drink pour to price, they've been receptive and responsive to any of my concerns. As a regular, I love knowing that I patronize a place that cares so visibly about their customers. Williamsburg, you must have too many bars. Otherwise, why would this place be empty during happy hour? Lots of space, $5 mason jar cocktails, a backyard and snacks like fancy grilled cheeses should all add up to crowds. The bar even somehow smells like a log cabin with a fireplace. Awesome place. It feels like one of those places you want to go when you're feeling like just being around chill people. The bartenders are cool.
