I met up with a group of friends at The Evergreen on a Friday after work, and it was a great choice. The drinks are reasonably priced, and I highly recommend the Negroni--it was excellent. Our bartender was friendly, attentive, and made everyone feel welcome. One of the bar's most charming features is that it's service-animal friendly. During our visit, a friendly husky wandered around greeting patrons, adding to the relaxed, neighborhood feel. They also have a resident kitten named Whisky, who was equally sociable after waking from his nap. The food menu is small, but the pigs in a blanket were surprisingly delicious. Another nice touch is that they encourage guests to bring in food from nearby restaurants, making it easy to enjoy a meal alongside your drinks. The Evergreen is a cozy neighborhood dive bar tucked into a residential corner of Bushwick, at the intersection of Moffat Street and Evergreen Avenue--a fitting inspiration for its name. The interior has a dark, rustic character that feels authentic and inviting. Open until 4:00 AM every night, it's an ideal spot for both an after-work drink and a late-night gathering. The bar is welcoming to everyone and has a great atmosphere. There are plenty of ways to stay entertained with shuffleboard, pinball machines, and arcade games, with a small outdoor space perfect for summer nights. Every visit here smells awful -- probably from the cats and dogs roaming around. The bartender is rude and even put a cat on the cutting board used for limes. First time coming here. Nice quaint size, lost of artist and college grads in the area. Came here with a friend to get the night started. It was days before Halloween so everyone was decked out with their Halloween gear. I loved that it was nice and warm. I was able to take my coat off and just relax. Their was only one bartender there at the time but homeboy handle his thang. Took care of the whole place and no one had to worry about getting his attention for drinks. It's a very cool atmosphere I must say, you have tissues of are behind the bar and chalkboard bathroom walls.. which was my favorite. I'm always meeting new friendly ppl here and have become cool with regulars. Music is always jamming no matter the genre. The bartenders here are awesome and unique in their own way. Meh, yawn-worthy. Sure, it's clean and cozy and has beer, but, um, so does my apartment. I guess this place is good if you just want to stave off the loneliness of drinking alone at home by drinking alone in a very underwhelming place in public, but if you want to go somewhere interesting, fun, or different, there's absolutely no reason to come here. Had the same bar tender when I've come, but he's been very courtesy and prompt with primo drinks. Decent draft and beer selection too, if that's your thing. Very nicely decorated and cute in keeping with the namesake. Personally chose to take advantage of today's Happy Hour for the $3 well shots on a Friday night and highly recommend trying this place out. This is what many bars neglect; music is great but people must be able to hear themselves, or else it's a club. Overall ambiance is great as well - e.g. good amount of lighting. Really cute place to take a date, especially if they like nature (has an earthy vibe to it). Our bartender was cool too, he knew when to serve us and engage us and when to back off.
