My wife and I are visiting from Washington and my cousin suggested that I checkout this shop! I'm truly happy that I did! The business is very easy to find and access. The employee was very friendly and helpful. In addition, the store had just about any retro game and console that you may be looking for at a reasonable price. I picked up three PlayStation 1 games, one PlayStation 2 game, 1 PlayStation 4 game, and two PlayStation Portable games. I paid $55. I'm very happy with my visit and I hope to return someday! We stopped by to check out the video games, and bought two surging sparks Pokémon trading card booster packs. Unfortunately they were fake cards, I would not recommend buying cards from this establishment. 12 dollars wasted for fake cards worth 0 dollars :( My recommendation is to go to Walmart or target for real cards. Unfortunate because I wanted to support a small business. Hopefully they didn't know they were fake, and I really hope they don't continue to sell fake product in the future. read more

Great place with kind staff. I've picked up many retro games here impulsively, expansive selection. Most recently helped me get an Xbox at a fair price. Staff even helped me diagnose an issue with my controller not working for Dead Rising 2 on PC over the phone. I don't often review places, its usually my wife, but when I saw that 2 star comment about how the staff was "shaking and nervous" while trying to help the customer with his credits, I felt I needed to help bring that review average up. Seriously, you mentioned going here since you were a kid, and you give them 2 stars because you're impatient? They didn't deserve that. 5 stars. You guys keep being awesome. read more

They have actually retro stuff and collectibles for sale for which is rare to find in a used game store. The environment was low pressure. The clerk said hi and left me to my own devices until I started talking to him and then we ended up having a 20 minute conversation, which was cool. read more

The husband and kiddo visited Recycle Video Games during a drive-through while in Newport earlier this afternoon. I was told that the business was 'clean and organized' and 'friendly and very knowledgeable' staff member. The kiddo ended up with a used and functional DS game, Call of Duty 4. The staff are friendly, I love them. You can get into some decent conversations if you're up to it. They're respectful and let you browse. I believe they understand gamers want a quick night pick up or something with little talk , because obviously it's aimed towards us. Young enthusiastic gamers with experience. New comers are always welcomed. If you like a place with a good selection and hate driving to game stop, definitely do take a trip here. The consoles are definitely worth it. If you happen to get lucky and some machines don't come with accessories the price will go down a lil. Just a little. Bout 60 less. So definitely check it out. The game selection that the store has an amazing selection of games that I haven't been able to find in many other game shops found around Oregon. It's a great stop for people that are looking for games on older console generations (ex Xbox, PS2, SNES, NES). I found multiple games that i was looking for, and some that I forgot existed. Been going to this gaming store since I was a child. It's always been super easy to just go in and trade games for credits by giving a phone number of the account. I went in the other day positive that I had 60 credits on my account and I wanted to get a game for 50 credits. I asked the guy working he just started and had no blue on how to use the computer to look at my account or anything. He ended up calling the manager and asking for help. After a while of him shaking of nervousness and sweating because he's trying to figure it out. I lose interest and have to leave. I just wanted to check my credits and play video games. When I visit again I will take and submit a picture. We've seen this shop before because we visit the coast often. On our first visit there wasn't much to check out or buy and the employees didn't say much. Recently we brought in a few games, consoles and controls and their guy Jake was a huge help and showed an enthusiasm that was very much appreciated. He was helpful, genuine and we will definitely come back to buy, trade and recycle our games. Why not a perfect score? Some of the prices of the used video games are a bit on the pricey side and even though it shouldn't it deters some of the customers from buying and trying new video games. Maybe have a few sales or bargains every so often. I felt bad for the kid hoping to buy a copy of FF7 and the Mom none to pleased about the $60 price tag. :( Other than that this place is worth it to check out, buy and trade your games and have fun just looking around! read more

I was very disappointed with this shop. Yea they probably have the biggest inventory of retro games on the coast, but most are sniklefritz and sports games. Not to mention the high price tag on games that require peripherals to play and they didn't have the peripherals so what's the point (some games were marked at decent prices so not everything was terrible price wise). The most disappointing part to me was that I had read sooo many reviews about how knowledgeable they were about games and I didn't experience this at either this location or the one in Tillamook that I also visited. I was searching for some Turbo Grafix 16 stuff and they hadn't heard of it at either location. In Newport they called Tillamook and the employee there said they had a Joystick for it. Excited we drove further than we planned, just to get there to be shown an NES MAX!?!?!?! Not only was it not what I was looking for, it was for the most recognizable system EVER MADE and he had no idea what it was! It freakin says NES on the damn thing!!!!! Between both locations they had different "practices" when it came to pricing games. One location the price could magically go up if the cashier deems it should be worth more. They had 5 copies of a game and all were marked the same, I chose the one with the case and she told me it would be more, even though CLEARLY marked with the same price as the rest. Lastly, this is more of a personal/professional issue that I have with some resale stores. I understand that stores need to make money and can't always give a deal. But when someone is in your location and buying multiple USED items, a $2 discount ensures that you will get that customer back for future visits. In the end I didn't buy an item and the store lost out on more money because they wouldn't bundle (stuff that wasn't even priced or on display for that matter). I went to over 30 locations while on my trip and this was the only location that didn't allow me to bundle or get a small discount for multiple items. I will not be visiting any of the Recycle Video Games locations in the future, which is a shame because I heard such great things! read more

I have gotten a game and like 3 times it didn't work. But then I wanted NBA 2K 16 which was 35$ I didn't have 35$ so I asked for it for 30$. Which for a new game coming really soon bringing it down a little would be so bad. Would go again but too expensive read more
