This is not about their product, but to their effect on the community nearby residents as they…read moreprocess their product... They are operating 24/7, but deny that they are. This is a problem for the nearby residents as can literally feel the vibration being emitted by their equipment. There are multiple pieces of equipment that generate multiple ground-borne waves that travel through the bedrock causing nearby by structures to oscillate and resonate within the walls and floors which is amplifying the machinery's kinetic energies. These energies are of low frequency sound/vibration that fluctuate between the infrasonic threshold, and by which the intensity depends on the power output of the impacting force applied to the ground at any given time. The irresponsible thing here is, that they only use a decibel meter to measure sound pressure above ground. It does not measure low frequency or ground vibrations. What they need is ground vibration monitors like seismographs or triaxial geophones that do actually monitor these ground vibrations so they can make sure they don't cross that threshold standard, whatever that is, which is disturbing to the residents within the vicinity that site. This actually requires engineering and geophysics expertise to monitor and mitigate this problem. Syar has these abilities as they are that the type of industry - So, why then are they avoiding this issue and denying that they are indeed operating. It is very clear that they are processing, variety of rock, sand, and gravel products from its aggregate plant located in Healdsburg. And they are the only ones the vicinity with that type of equipment that can produce that kind of force to the ground...

Not sure of their current business practices but my grand father worked at Basalt for years and…read moreeven retired from there. He was a navy mechanic during WW2 and then worked for basalt through the mid 80's. I thought that basalt had closed but I guess Syar Industries Inc picked up where they left off. I too do not like the mining right next to the river. Not to wish them ill but I hope they close.
