Perfect brisket. Delicious potato salad. Nothing else need be said. This was an excellent pairing today. Got me in and out and I was thrilled to taste the food when I got home. Thank you!

Honestly I never gave a second thought to trying a BBQ restaurant inside a grocery store. Then HEB said, watch this! I stopped in HEB around lunchtime for one of their meals and the aroma of Q pulled me in. It was a late lunch time so only a couple of people inside eating. The decor is definitely Q and Texas themed. Who cares though....bow good is the BBQ? You can order from an electronic kiosk and pay right there too. So no miscommunications. I got the brisket sandwich, okra, potato salad and had to try their peach cobbler. All that for under $20. That impressed me even more. I had the order in less than 10 minutes and a 10 minute drive home. I was blown away by the brisket! Still very warm and a great taste. The bark was crispy and very tasty! The the fried okra knocked my socks off. Perfectly cooked extra crispy and amazing taste with just the right amount of spices. Then the mustard based potato salad impressed me. It was perfect! So I wondered. All that was so good....surely the cobbler can't match the same quality. Wrong! It was so good! Warm, great crust and peaches too!

You can either order at the desk or order at the kiosk they have provided in the front. Ordering on the kiosk was easy. Food quality - so disappointing. The only thing I would go back for is the moist brisket. And their bbq sauce comes pre-packaged (we had to walk back up to the counter after getting our food because they didn't offer when we picked up our meals). The corn was ok.. it wasn't great but it was edible. The cornbread was a 0/10. It was so burnt on top that I thought it was a banana nut bread of some type.. I ate the inside to give it another chance and it was beyond dry. I couldn't even swallow that bite. wouldn't eat here again unless I try out the brisket sandwich.. maybe.

We grabbed some BBQ on our way out of Texas. I have to admit I'm not a BBQ connoisseur at all, but I have had some pretty good BBQ elsewhere. We both got the 2 meat combo. I got sausage and chopped brisket with potato salad and mac n cheese for my sides. It was ok. The brisket was a little fatty but tasted good, the sausage had a nice spice to it without being over powering. I didn't care too much for the sides. The cheese in the mac n cheese was a little to thin and the potato salad was just ok. I liked that they gave you pickles and onions on the side. Oh, and the soft white bread was delish! Hubby got the pulled pork and jalapeno cheddar sausage with beans and corn bread. They were all ok. We also tried the peach cobbler and banana pudding. The cobbler had a little clove taste to it, which was different and the banana pudding was missing the banana flavor. Both BBQ sauces were pretty good. The staff was very friendly and polite.

This is a review from the day after opening, accidentally posted to the wrong location! =) Most of these stars are for the staff and the sides. The staff, despite being ridiculously busy, were nothing but smiles. This was essentially a soft opening in the middle of the most overwhelming grocery store opening I've ever seen. I thought they did great. They kept the place clean and were walking around in case anyone needed anything. The food... was fine. The brisket is weirdly sweet and slightly sour at the same time. It didn't taste like any Texas brisket I've ever had and I've lived all over Texas. But the sandwich bun was great and my sister added coleslaw to it which she said was good. The ribs had a great flavor but they were overcooked, which is fine, they'd been open for like, 24 hours so not bad! The cornbread was slightly overcooked and a little dry but the flavor was good, I'd definitely get it again. Add a little of the cream corn and it was awesome. The mac'n'cheese and cream corn were my favorites, both were just on point, absolutely great. The corn was fire roasted, that just won the ballgame. If you were to add a little creamy habanero sauce and cotija or queso fresco, their cream corn could be elote. Another highlight was the pickles. They were so good and I was so sad I didn't get a container. Turns out they sell big containers of them in the cold meal ready area. My sister didn't tell me until we left the store. So, before I end this, I'll say I'm probably one of the only people in the south who doesn't like banana pudding. It's just not my thing, I haven't liked it since I was little. I tried a small bite of my sister's. I had to assert some serious will power to remain polite and not rip it out of her hands. It's delicious. I couldn't believe I was going to tell people I loved it, but I did. We'll be back for sure, overall it was a really positive experience.

Food was ok but not good enough to come back. Order was ready very quickly. My baked potato didn't come with bacon or cheese but I took my food home so I couldn't ask them for some. I give them 3.5 stars EDIT: ended up finding a piece of paper in my sons cobbler luckily he didn't like it so I started eating it. Changing to 1 star

I had a delightful experience at the new H-E-B Alliance True Texas BBQ. The approximately 20-minute wait, including ordering at the menu, went by quickly given the order size and line length. I thoroughly enjoyed the food; the brisket was tender, the ribs had great flavor, and the sausage was delicious. Additionally, Texas Torpedo's were excellent, but be cautious with the jalapeños as they can be quite hot. Lastly, all of the sides were good except for the cream corn which had an unusual overly creamy texture that I didn't prefer.

Worth every minute of the wait. This one's climbing my top 50 list faster than a brisket disappears at a family reunion. After one failed mission to Sabar BBQ, where I showed up too late and found an empty pit (and an emptier stomach), I came back like a man on a barbecue pilgrimage. The sun was blazing, the line was growing, and I wasn't about to be left holding nothing but a napkin this time. Pitmaster Zain Shafi runs this blue trailer like a flavor command center. The smell hit me halfway through the line and had me grinning like a kid at the state fair. I made my move when it was my turn, and if you know me, you know lamb is my kryptonite. I ordered the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, then couldn't stop myself from adding brisket and Tandoori Turkey. The sides? Kachumber Salad and Daal Chawaal, because even Uncle Sean needs balance in life. Zain loaded everything up, tossed it all on top of some naan for good measure, and sent me to my table like a champion headed to the winner's circle. The first bite of lamb ribs nearly had me proposing to the pit. Spicy, tender, smoky perfection with a bark that made my heart sing. The brisket was rich and juicy, the turkey came with that tandoori kick that slapped me awake in the best way possible. The sauces just tied the whole thing together like a big barbecue hug. The yogurt mint cilantro sauce was made to cool and lift the brisket and turkey to a whole new level. The red sauce packed a punch and paired with the lamb like it was born for the job. I boxed up some leftovers for my wife, the Side Dish Queen herself, because a man who doesn't bring home naan from Sabar BBQ is a man sleeping on the couch. She confirmed what I already knew: this was next-level barbecue, the kind that earns legends and long lines. Sabar BBQ is only open on weekends, and only fools show up late. I won't make that mistake again. This was stop number 15 on my Texas Monthly Top 50 journey, leaving me with 35 more glorious BBQ pilgrimages ahead before the passport is full and my belt officially waves the white flag. If loving these lamb ribs is wrong, I don't wanna be rib-right.

With a bit more seasoning and flavor, the sides could be the hit of the location, and this I think will come with time and practice. Brisket was on the dry side, maybe overcooked, and could have used some better trimming before cooking I think. Did not try sausages or chicken, but both looked appetizing.
