Perfect brisket. Delicious potato salad. Nothing else need be said. This was an excellent pairing today. Got me in and out and I was thrilled to taste the food when I got home. Thank you!

Honestly I never gave a second thought to trying a BBQ restaurant inside a grocery store. Then HEB said, watch this! I stopped in HEB around lunchtime for one of their meals and the aroma of Q pulled me in. It was a late lunch time so only a couple of people inside eating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is definitely Q and Texas themed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Who cares though....bow good is the BBQ? You can order from an electronic kiosk and pay right there too. So no miscommunications. I got the brisket sandwich, okra, potato salad and had to try their peach cobbler. All that for under $20. That impressed me even more. I had the order in less than 10 minutes and a 10 minute drive home. I was blown away by the brisket! Still very warm and a great taste. The bark was crispy and very tasty! The the fried okra knocked my socks off. Perfectly cooked extra crispy and amazing taste with just the right amount of spices. Then the mustard based potato salad impressed me. It was perfect! So I wondered. All that was so good....surely the cobbler can't match the same quality. Wrong! It was so good! Warm, great crust and peaches too!

You can either order at the desk or order at the kiosk they have provided in the front. Ordering on the kiosk was easy. Food quality - so disappointing. The only thing I would go back for is the moist brisket. And their bbq sauce comes pre-packaged (we had to walk back up to the counter after getting our food because they didn't offer when we picked up our meals). The corn was ok.. it wasn't great but it was edible. The cornbread was a 0/10. It was so burnt on top that I thought it was a banana nut bread of some type.. I ate the inside to give it another chance and it was beyond dry. I couldn't even swallow that bite. wouldn't eat here again unless I try out the brisket sandwich.. maybe.

We grabbed some BBQ on our way out of Texas. I have to admit I'm not a BBQ connoisseur at all, but I have had some pretty good BBQ elsewhere. We both got the 2 meat combo. I got sausage and chopped brisket with potato salad and mac n cheese for my sides. It was ok. The brisket was a little fatty but tasted good, the sausage had a nice spice to it without being over powering. I didn't care too much for the sides. The cheese in the mac n cheese was a little to thin and the potato salad was just ok. I liked that they gave you pickles and onions on the side. Oh, and the soft white bread was delish! Hubby got the pulled pork and jalapeno cheddar sausage with beans and corn bread. They were all ok. We also tried the peach cobbler and banana pudding. The cobbler had a little clove taste to it, which was different and the banana pudding was missing the banana flavor. Both BBQ sauces were pretty good. The staff was very friendly and polite.

This is a review from the day after opening, accidentally posted to the wrong location! =) Most of these stars are for the staff and the sides. The staff, despite being ridiculously busy, were nothing but smiles. This was essentially a soft opening in the middle of the most overwhelming grocery store opening I've ever seen. I thought they did great. They kept the place clean and were walking around in case anyone needed anything. The food... was fine. The brisket is weirdly sweet and slightly sour at the same time. It didn't taste like any Texas brisket I've ever had and I've lived all over Texas. But the sandwich bun was great and my sister added coleslaw to it which she said was good. The ribs had a great flavor but they were overcooked, which is fine, they'd been open for like, 24 hours so not bad! The cornbread was slightly overcooked and a little dry but the flavor was good, I'd definitely get it again. Add a little of the cream corn and it was awesome. The mac'n'cheese and cream corn were my favorites, both were just on point, absolutely great. The corn was fire roasted, that just won the ballgame. If you were to add a little creamy habanero sauce and cotija or queso fresco, their cream corn could be elote. Another highlight was the pickles. They were so good and I was so sad I didn't get a container. Turns out they sell big containers of them in the cold meal ready area. My sister didn't tell me until we left the store. So, before I end this, I'll say I'm probably one of the only people in the south who doesn't like banana pudding. It's just not my thing, I haven't liked it since I was little. I tried a small bite of my sister's. I had to assert some serious will power to remain polite and not rip it out of her hands. It's delicious. I couldn't believe I was going to tell people I loved it, but I did. We'll be back for sure, overall it was a really positive experience.

Food was ok but not good enough to come back. Order was ready very quickly. My baked potato didn't come with bacon or cheese but I took my food home so I couldn't ask them for some. I give them 3.5 stars EDIT: ended up finding a piece of paper in my sons cobbler luckily he didn't like it so I started eating it. Changing to 1 star

I had a delightful experience at the new H-E-B Alliance True Texas BBQ. The approximately 20-minute wait, including ordering at the menu, went by quickly given the order size and line length. I thoroughly enjoyed the food; the brisket was tender, the ribs had great flavor, and the sausage was delicious. Additionally, Texas Torpedo's were excellent, but be cautious with the jalapeños as they can be quite hot. Lastly, all of the sides were good except for the cream corn which had an unusual overly creamy texture that I didn't prefer.

There are plenty of interesting options, making it easy for everyone in the group to find something appealing. We started with the Giant Pretzel and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and both were excellent. The pretzel was warm and flavorful, while the Brussels sprouts were crispy and well-seasoned. These appetizers ended up being some of the highlights of the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the pork ribs. The portion size was just right, leaving me satisfied without feeling overly full. The ribs were enjoyable, but they didn't quite measure up to what you'd find at a dedicated Texas barbecue joint. They were good, just not particularly memorable for a region known for exceptional barbecue. One of the restaurant's biggest strengths is its location. Situated right along the river and close to other shops and attractions, it's a great place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The outdoor setting and overall vibe create a fun, lively experience that encourages you to linger a little longer. Overall, The Woodshed Smokehouse is a fun destination with a fantastic location and a unique menu. While the food was solid, the restaurant's atmosphere and setting are what truly stand out. It's worth a visit if you're looking for a casual meal and an enjoyable place to spend an afternoon.

Great setting and establishment, I just wish the taste was there. This company knows how to draw you in with their appealing twinkies and brisket display. However, that's all. They could improve by adding more flavor. Maybe salt, pepper, hints of spices, garlic, onion powder, something. Eliminate the banana pudding and desserts. Update the sides by adding something different. With some change, they will run Terry Black some true competition.

A former Texas Monthly top 10 spot on a Sunday at 11:30 am had basically no line. How can that be?…read moreInside there is no seating and the outdoor patio is quite filled up. People are parking on side streets all over just trying to get lucky. How is that possible? Panther City BBQ is just efficient. Located just slightly south of downtown Fort Worth, Panther City BBQ was my 31st stamp on my Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Passport. So much barbecue has been on the board this past year that my palate is just dialed now. I have a few notes of the eats at each spot I go to from my Yelp peers, my friends, and other things I see online, but I did not expect Panther City to have as many options as they did. Their menu, especially on the weekends, is quite expansive. Of course they have all your traditional smoked meats plus smoked bologna and smoked barbacoa and smoked guisada on the weekend. Their BBQ Twists had some crazy options like their Pork Belly Poppers that I had to get. The line moved efficiently as they had two ladies running the register as all the meats were sliced and prepared in the kitchen. They were moving through the line with a speed never seen before at a BBQ joint. My order was small orders of quite a bit of their menu so I had the chance to really try it all. I'll go down the line and share my thoughts on everything: Brisket: Honestly, was kind of dry in my opinion compared to the best and didn't pull me in so much. Probably the worst thing I had here. Pork Spare Ribs: Big ole bone that crumbled with no problem. Extremely tender and heavenly. Beef Garlic Sausage: I am more of a pork sausage guy, but these threw down. They had a back order on their Jalapeño Cheese sausage, so I got a link of this instead. Plenty of flavor and a delight. Smoked Brisket Guisada: If you want a little hair on your chest, order their Guisada and sit out in the Texas heat. That stew had a kick to it. It was flavorful. It was powerful, but I also had generational meat sweats after a few bites. Pork Belly Poppers: I haven't stopped thinking about these. It was a crazy and delicious bite and packed full of flavor. I wish jalapeños weren't as mild as they are right now (thanks A&M), but the mixing of the pork belly with a creamy jalapeño popper was a brilliant creation that felt like a drunk masterpiece I'd put together if I were a pit master. Spicy Smoked Mac & Cheese: A fantastic side with a jalapeño crumble that really wasn't that spicy. It was excellent and a perfect mac sauce, but I just had to share that it really wasn't that spicy. This was a treat of a spot. They're open 5 days a week until 8 PM, which shows they have it down to a science. As we were leaving, the line had popped out the door. Anywhere else that's like an hour wait. Here? It means they're gonna have to wait 10 minutes to order. RIYL: Top tier BBQ without the extensive wait for top tier BBQ.

The barbecue is different than I'm used to and although good flavor it was surface level flavor, once you got inside the meat it didn't really taste it.. especially for the price your paying.. $36+p/lb The Mac was mid at best.. truly would've preferred Kraft, this is straight from a bag and heated.. the potato salad was good I would give them that.
