And I can say, after living here for over a year or so due to work, this place had us spoiled. First it has a pool, a gym with so much equipment, on site propane, mailroom, full bathrooms with walk-in showers, a theater room, a bar, plenty of washer and dryers with laundry detergent, a fully stocked kitchen and a community area to host parties. I'm sure I'm leaving out a few other things but they have so much to offer. Each lot has so much space in between the next. Enough space to place a grill, full patio set, fire pit, and raised beds. It is also fairly quiet in the front even though you are close to the highway. Every once and a while you will hear a motorcycle or vehicle but it dies down quickly afterwards. It's about 5 miles or so from I-20 and may 2-3 miles from town. The police department and sheriff's office are less that 2 miles away. But with being so close to everything it is still surrounded by two huge cow fields.

I am spending my last morning at what I have found to be the most excellent place I have lived in…read morethe previous thirty-five years. This is after working for a company that has placed my wife and me in over twenty-two different locations. In the last three years, while living here, we have truly discovered how little we need to be happy. The pursuit that we had been chasing for many years--having a big house, a pool, and acceptance from neighbors--was proven to be not worth it. Although we acquired that big house, we found ourselves only using three rooms, and most people were busy with their own lives, not having time to come to our home. We moved here temporarily while exploring our options, yet quickly came to understand just how fulfilled we are being around some of the most honest, caring, non-judgmental, and hardworking families that make our community and country great. Tonya and I keep to ourselves, but many people here have no idea of the impact they've had on our lives with just an honest hello or how are you doing. This is a community that reflects what is missing in America: putting down the phone and appreciating what nature, our families, and those around us offer. I cannot express enough how much Mr. Johnny and Mrs. Patty mean to my wife and me. We have never been close to any immediate family, yet the care and compassion they have always shown us remind us that genuine care for one another can create family bonds. While I will genuinely miss the opportunities to see a great group of friends fishing, laughing, and cooking beneath a beautiful setting sun, along with peaceful evenings spent outside watching the fish and assorted wildlife on the pond, I am grateful to have discovered once again how this community has blessed us as we embark on our next journey. We have always taken the opportunity to move quickly without looking back at where we lived, yet this place will forever be in our hearts and minds.

It's a lovely RV resort (cabins also available) on a lake, with a pool, no dog breed restrictions (no aggressive dogs allowed), and a lot of mature trees. My husband and I stayed for one night and management graciously put us at a waterfront view. My only item to note are that the bathrooms/showers are more like those I remember from childhood camp. They were very basic, with no soap for the sinks and no AC. Outside of that, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back.

They gave us a room that they were trying to renovate but didn't finish. Common sense would say, give them another room. The room was tiny. The room smells like smoke. The bed was uncomfortable. The threshold between the rooms were gone and my 3 year old stubbed his toe. Floor tiles were not glued down. The bathroom door got locked shut (with no one inside, thankfully.) The TV had to be replaced 3 times. There was no phone. The carpet was dirty. The wall paint choice was ugly and poorly done. My 3 year old kept saying the toilet had "poo poo" on it, it was just chipped paint. The pluses were new key card locks on the the entry doors, new mini fridge, and a new microwave. Bring your own towels and pillows.

However, once we stepped inside, it was a completely different experience. The interior appeared to be newly remodeled, clean, and well maintained. Our room was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. We chose this hotel because it was conveniently located along our route and is pet-friendly, which was important for our trip. It met our needs by providing a clean, comfortable place to rest for the night with our pet. A special thank you to Dawn and Tam, who were both very hospitable and welcoming. Their friendly attitudes made check-in easy and added a personal touch to our stay. Overall, I think this location may be going through a transitional phase. While the exterior could use significant attention, the updated interior was a pleasant surprise, and the warm hospitality from Dawn and Tam helped make our stay an enjoyable one.
