Red Door Saloon is easily one of the worst bars in Nashville. Security is aggressive, unprofessional, and ejects people without explanation or warning. No conversation. No de-escalation. Just hostility. This is a terrible look for a city built on hospitality. If you think this is exaggerated, look at the pictures and decide for yourself. What's even worse: I personally watched this happen four times in under five minutes, completely unprovoked. Security didn't just remove patrons they borderline assaulted them, then came outside laughing, clapping, and joking about it afterward. The reaction in the photo says everything, people were visibly shocked by how innocent customers were consistently treated. 0/10. Low-class behavior. Avoid this place. read more

Red Door - Nashville I had one of the most uncomfortable door experiences I've had in Nashville, and I found it both disgusting and shameful. Our group arrived at Red Door dressed well and prepared to enjoy the evening after attending an industry holiday party. At the entrance, the way our group was handled felt inconsistent and unfair. One person was allowed in without being asked for ID, while another member of our group was stopped and told to remain outside because of a fake fur jacket. There was no clear explanation, no consistent application of rules, and no attempt to handle the situation respectfully. Watching different standards applied to people in the same group was confusing and upsetting. The way this was handled felt arbitrary and, from my perspective, discriminatory in nature. Being excluded while others were allowed to enter freely was humiliating and unnecessary, and it completely ruined what was meant to be a celebratory night. The overall experience at the door was, in my opinion, disgusting and shameful. This reflects very poorly on how Red Door manages its entrance and the individuals representing the venue. Based on this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this establishment. read more

On Saturday night (5/10/2026), the white male bartender with a beard and hat was extremely rude to me and my coworkers. He repeatedly ignored us when we tried to place our orders, and when he finally acknowledged us, he slammed our drinks on the counter and used profanity toward us. This was easily one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a bartender. His behavior was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I had passed by this spot many times when driving and it always seemed interesting. So I finally decided to pay a visit to this spot on a Lundi Gras evening to see what was happening. There wasn't a big crowd here but it was decent for a Monday night. This is a nice area to do some pub crawling and there are multiple cool venues to check out in this area of Midtown. Management needs to address the way their bouncers treat people. I am writing to share a disturbing experience that happened this weekend when a man of Salvadorian descent was aggressively confronted and treated in a way that appeared discriminatory and completely unnecessary. The situation escalated quickly and instead of de-escalating the bouncers used excessive force. He was physically assaulted, put into a headlock and punched despite not posing a visible threat that would justify that level of violence. His wife, when she asked for the bouncer to let him go was physically pushed. It was shocking and upsetting to watch. The behavior displayed by the security staff was unprofessional, dangerous and unacceptable. Management needs to seriously address how their staff handles situations! In reading others reviews this seems like a huge issue with their security staff. I will tell everyone I know NOT to frequent this establishment! read more

This place has been here a very long time. Ever since I can remember. I had their food and it's pretty good. They have sandwiches, burgers, pizza, salads, etc. Plenty of beer selection on draft, bottle or cans and also other types of alcoholic beverages. The staff have always been friendly. If you come in an extra busy time it's more of a hit and miss. The place inside is spooky feel. Red vibe. They have a hole on the floor you need to check out. Bathrooms are tiny. I would give it a negative 5 if I could. They do NOT look out for their women patrons. I was harassed ( a man outwardly told me I was gonna be banned to hell just be being a woman) and the bartender would not help out when asked multiple times. Fast forward two years later. I'm waiting for my uber inside while it's pouring rain and the bouncers are yelling at me to leave I showed them my Ubers in the way and ask if I can wait inside and they threaten to call the cops on me. Our food was okay, typical bar food. They also have pizza and a variety of dawgs! Our friends were served a cold hot dog and had to send it back. Fried pickle spears were crisp and had good flavor. The server was not too friendly he didn't smile once. You order at the bar and they bring the order to your table. They have a good root beer shot that's actually a full drink and tasty . I don't care what anyone says, this is probably my favorite "dive" in Nashville. When I was in town back in April, we came here every single day. I happily came back during my work trip this week. The whole mood of this place is laid back and inviting. There's no pressure. No judgment. No drama. Just come for a drink and a good time. The bartenders are always nice and they are quick to give you what you need. The prices are super reasonable and it's such an easy place to hang out. The $10 credit card minimum for a tab is no problem because you have no reason to only stay for one drink. Common sense, right? read more

We were sent to this spot from a recommendation from another place we attempted to eat at but they were closed! She bragged about the food! We were not sure if it was a club with a kitchen or what when we walked up. We were greeted by security checking id cards and bags. I met a girl on Tinder and she wanted to meet my girlfriend and I. We met at this bar as a first date. It was sort of clear as soon as I walked in that this was a "locals" bar. We were inside for two hours and not a single time did a server ask if they could help us. We went to the bar and waited ten minutes at a time to place an order. We ordered two separate baskets of pretzel bites. One came out and we had to go ask where the second one was. They said they misread the order and brought the second one out ten minutes later. There was no place to sit and the back room where the shuffle board is was entirely too cold to stay in. Each time we went out on the porch, we got carded to get back in. By five times, being carded by the same guy gets old. At least the date went really well. read more

I actually just found this place because I was looking for a bar where you could smoke and they offered it. It was outside but covered and the weather was beautiful. I needed a break for a few minutes from life and this was the perfect spot. Not only were the drinks (LIT) I ordered superb but the music was smooth, it really lifted my mood. Yikes. I am a Nashville local and have been to Red Door several times, but after last night I don't think I will be going back! Bar staff and security are very selective, to say the least. The best way I know how to to put it is that there are no bar tenders that are of color... unfortunately I have found they treat customers very differently based on skin color and how well known customers are in the entertainment/ music industry. It has definitely gotten worse secondary to a few new bartenders they have hired. I do not recommend this bar, especially if you are in Nashville visiting and wanting to get the full experience! This facility will most likely give you a bad impression of the city and it is in no way accurate nor reflective of the majority of the bars/ business in Nash. read more

First off, I can not give a place a 5 Star review if I have not eaten there. This review is therefore a 4/4. My wife was searching Nashville bars on Tik Tok and for some reason Red Door Saloon showed up. It is located in a good area in Midtown surrounded by other bars/restaurants and hotels. There is some street parking and three parking spots at the actual building. From the outside, the bar does not look very welcoming. Admittedly, it may be different during the summer, but we had trouble finding the actual entrance because there are three or four ramps that lead to doors. The curb appeal is lacking but once inside you do not really care. There is an outdoor food truck that serves Po' Boys and other food items that I assume is open during the summer and looks like it would be a cool thing to try out. Once inside, we found a very large space that seems to be designed to accommodate a lot people. By reading other Yelp reviews, I believe this bar gets a good night crowd. We went on a weekday around Noon. Inside, the decor is a mixture of Chicago items and skeletons. The owner is from Chicago so that makes sense. I am not sure what the skeleton part is, but it wasnt a problem. The bathrooms were clean and there is plenty of seating by the garage doors that look out on to 19th Street and are a nice feature when they are opened. Paula was our bartender and she was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. In between orders, she could be seen wiping down the menus and running a vacuum along some ledges in the bar. It is okay to be a dive bar. It is not okay to be a dive bar that is dirty. Red Door Saloon is definitely clean! Our draft beer and bottled beer was cold and she was able to recommend some local favorites from Tailgate Brewery which has a location nearby. I would like to come back and check out the night life sometime and try the food. The more and more we go to Nashville, the more we stay away from Lower Broadway and this bar is a gem in Midtown that we will certainly return to. read more
