You were pretty crowded the evening we dined and staff was hustling which resulted in a good wait until our order was taken. However, during that time the over ambiance of a seafood restaurant was pleasantly in the air as evidenced by the aromas. My wife has a soft shelled crab sandwich and I had the 1# Lobster, both of which we enjoyed. i would have enjoyed my lobster more if it had been drained after preparation as the water almost filled my plate and made for a quite sloppy experience in the overall. That said though, I did enjoy the evening and we will return. Oh, the moscow mule took a very long time to arrive as the ginger beer was not readily to be found at the bar. Quite good once found and the mule arrived! Noted that your on site menu was considerable different from the on-line one, which was much more extensive. I just had lunch at the Red Grouper Tavern. Wow!!!! I had the fried whole belly clams from Ipswich. They were delicious. Cooked to perfection. My husband had grilled haddock and he said it was very good. Coming from New England this place will be our go to for sure. Everything was fresh and hot. We had an opportunity to meet the owner and speak with him. A very nice man who understands quality! We are looking forward to going back for a lunch/dinner again! Third time a charm. Stopped in with my spouse and another couple this past Monday night and we were delighted. Such an improvement from my visit seven months ago. Clam chowder was excellent my grouper Reuben yummy as was another's blackened grouper and the other two had crispy entree salads one with blackened shrimp. Specialty cocktails tasty as well. my rating is a 10+ Tonight was our first time eating at your establishment and we were VERY impressed. Our waiter Eric took the time to explain the different dishes and answer any questions.... The soup was good but cold and my shrimp was warm but I asked for cold lol. The bartender did a great job of ignoring us and another couple we became friendly with at the bar (they felt the same as us like she really didn't want to be working there). Management did nothing to compensate for the lackluster food (can I but you a drink etc) and the charge remained on the bill. The fried shrimp dinner with cole slaw and Island rice was delicious! The restaurant was pretty empty at 6:45 on a Tuesday, but the waitress was attentive and friendly. My daughter had recommended this restaurant so I visited there for dinner with my fiancé. I ordered the haddock dinner and chose that it be blackened. I was shocked when I received a piece of very dry and very burnt white fish which may or may not have been haddock. I've had my fish blackened (when given the choice) at many different restaurants. Blackened does not mean burnt to a crisp! It does mean seared in spices but not burnt and dry! This was, without a doubt, the worst fish dinner I've ever had. The fact that it cost me $24 was the final knife in their coffin. That place has failure written all over it. Very sad It turned out that my daughter had never eaten there before. Why didn't I say something to your staff about my meal? Well remember you asked. I read your reviews before I wrote mine. There were a number of people that felt the same way about their meals as I did. Most said the staff exchanged their meals but the result was mostly the same. Some said the managers apologized but didn't do anything about the bill. The amount of food that I left should have been an indicator for your staff. BTW. Your staff didn't come by to ask me about my meal until they brought me the bill. The manager asked how I liked the place before the meal arrived. I'm not in the habit of leaving mediocre reviews but ones that were this bad need to be brought to light!!! I would think that an apology was in order but you seemed to put the responsibility on me for the dissatisfaction. There's more wrong here than needing a new chef and new menu. The owners and managers need to have a sit down and get the front of the house working and then the back of the house going. You need to look at the reviews seriously and look at your feeling about the responses. I truly hope this helps you!! We need a good seafood restaurant in this area!!! read more

I was excited to try this place. The pictures online showed hand cut fries with the fish and chip. Unfortunately this was not the case, fish and fries from frozen. It was average at best and there are better seafood offerings in the area. read more

We stopped for lunch on our way from Bonita Springs to Tampa and were thankful we did! I had half of a BLT on rye with a cup of their clam chowder. When our group came to the front door, we were surprised that a resturant named The Red Grouper had a special board outside the entrance that featured that their nightly special was a French Dip ???? remember this is a seafood restaurant. We have a group of six that eat out three times a week, and looked forward to try this new place. It was Very Disappointing. Our server was not very good at all, never brought water to the tableland complained that she was very tired due to having problems with her house guest, really not our problem! But her service was! The menu is a problem it lists their seafood options BUT no description on how the fish would be prepared(blacked, fried or grilled) also never mentions what sauces are offered! we ordered an appetizer that never came, our server said she was sorry but she forgot it(sad excuse) one of our entrees come to the table wrong and had to be returned! After reading the menu and not finding anything to my interest I grudging ordered the French Dip, another mistake I definitely could have got a much better roast beef at Arby's (much better) another guest also could not decide so he ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs, all he could say was this is terrible, the sauce was burnt and bitter and the meatball had no taste. My wife ordered the Lobster Roll, again very disappointing when it came to the table we thought it was another mistake, it looked liked it belonged on a Kids menu, Big plate with an extremely TINY sandwich it was like they were afraid to give her an adult sized meal! This is not how I regularly review a resturant, but the place deserved these comments!!!
