I have been a loyal customer for years, and today I left feeling completely humiliated. As I'm writing this I'm in shock. Every Tuesday, I take my mother and nephew to the movies, and afterward we come here for lunch. It is a treat my nephew looks forward to every week. We normally purchase two large plates plus rice, spending about $200-$250 each month. Depending on how many Tuesdays in a month. Today was special because my oldest nephew joined us. As I was making him a plate, an employee told me, "That's too much." I was shocked and embarrassed. What made it even worse was that the customer immediately after me had just as much food on her plate, yet the employee said absolutely nothing to her. It made me feel singled out and disrespected. This employee sees us every Tuesday and knows we are regular, paying customers. When I expressed how the comment made me feel, she said it was "because the owners,not me" but no owner were standing there telling her to say that to me. There was no reason to make a comment like that at all. After supporting this business for years, it was extremely disappointing to be treated this way. I truly hope management addresses this, because loyal customers deserve basic fairness, kindness, and respect. read more

I have been a fan of the Red Iron Mongolian BBQ in the Galleria in the city of Hawthorne since its beginning. I love the fresh vegetables and noodles and love having them served hot right off of the grill. Yummy. I wish the Red Iron continued success and plan on making a visit there soon . read more

I love coming here when I am craving Mongolian bbq. Have been coming here for years. Compared to Great Khans Mongolian food, I think this place has much better taste. The last few times I was at Khans the food/taste was very bland. So we keep coming back to Red Iron. Lately I have not really liked the beef. It tastes weird, looks weird even frozen... idk what it is but definitely not the quality of beef it used to be. Service is great! 100% NOT vegan/vegetarian friendly. They give each patron a tong to use on everything from meat to veggies. They give each patron a clean tong, but it's the same one for each food. Crozz contamination all the way. I personally found the food less enjoyable than other similarly styled restaurants. My oh my! My first time trying this place and I'm hooked. I've tried the one similar to this one at my local mall but this location beats it in taste, quality, and portion. It was a hearty meal! I used to always go here precovid. Its the first time after covid that I went and one of the workers got mad because I used a new tong for the vegetables. She insisted that I use the same one, even after I used it on the raw meat. There was no sign stating to use only one tong and she was super rude. (but try not to overfill the tiny bowls or else you'll make a mess). Then the workers put noodles on top of it. Then you can choose to make it spicy or mild. The meat choices are beef, chicken, pork, and turkey. The veggies include onions, mushrooms, bellpeppers, broccoli, pineapples, cilantro, bean sprouts, carrots, and a lot more I know I'm forgetting. The food is pretty good and is decently priced for what all you get. The line can get long but that's a good sign. You know the spill...grab your bowl...pile it high with what all you want...pick your sauce...watch while it cooks. The concern I have here is that if you're not carefully watching your dish, you'll receive someone else's order. It happened to me. How did I know? My styrofoam container contained ingredients that I didn't pick. The problem is that the cooks just cook the food in order of the line. And whatever food gets thoroughly cooked first, automatically goes to the next person waiting. So, if you load up on veggies, and no meat, your food will cook fast and will go to the next person waiting. Aside from that, the food is pretty good. read more

I decided to stop by the south bag galleria on my way home from an event this morning. I stopped solely because I wanted to eat lunch at GHM.. I have eaten there several times and I know their portions are super large. I walked straight to the elevator and to the 3rd floor where GHM is located. They have digital menu boards with prices and pictures of their cooked plates. They offer two sizes of bowls. The small I believe was 8.95 and the large was only a few quarters more. I opted in for the large size and paid $10.85 all inclusive. The cashier handed me the try with the bowl after I paid and I started filling it with the meats. They had a total of 4 meat options available: Beef, Chicken, Pork and Turkey. I got the beef and the chicken. I stuffed that plate with so much meat that it kept falling out. They have a verity of veggies to add. I added cilantro, onion, mushrooms, zucchini and tomatoes. The lady at the end of the counter then adds the sauces (Limon and garlic for me) and the pasta. She then hands it to the cook and he grills it on this big wide grill top. They add mangolian sauce to cook it in. I asked for mine well done and the cook was so awesome.. he even made sure I got a good shot of the food being cooked. The food was delicious and filling. I went home with almost 1/2 of my plate. I guess that's dinner. Parking is easy and close by. I love this mall because of the convenience it offers. read more

I always noticed the line that this place had so I thought I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed. Although $11 for a regular and $15 for a large are pretty steep asks for mall food(maybe not so much these days), at least they match the price with good portions so I'm not going to complain about the price. I don't plan on coming back. I've been to other Mongolian BBQ places, like Great Khan's, where they seem to have it together and the food is delicious but this place just didn't seem sanitary. People were touching the frozen raw meat and other food with their bare hands, as everyone is trying to stuff their bowls with the mostest and food is just spilling all over trays and the counter. I've been coming to this place for the past 6 years and I would say it's the best of all the great Khans that I've tried. They have the sauce technique down and their noodles taste great. Hey, even Matt Barnes frequents this location. However, over the years this shop has been steadily declining in favor and quality. Recently, I visited the location to get my usual Mongal fix and plate that was made for me tasted bland and dry. Usually, the plate comes out juicy and flavorful but there was something wrong about it. This is probably the best place to eat in the Galleria food court. If you fill your bowl correct you will definitely make enough for 2 - 3 people. Get a bowl of extra noodles for 1.75 for your first bowl and you can make enough for 4. Be aware of the older Korean man (the owner) when he's working. He is rather strict about pressing your meat in your bowl and using your hands. Also, he watches the worker in charge of noodles like a hawk. read more

You tell them what you want on your plate and they load up one bowl with meat and veggies. Half of the veggie fell of the bowl which gets thrown away. I think this is a really good mongolian bbq even though it's located in the Galleria food court on the 3rd floor. Kids go here and just get a pile of meat and noodles. Don't they know they should eat more vegetables?! Throw a bean sprout in there at least little buddy. I learned to maximize the content of my BBQ bowl from an engineer in the BBQ queue. Line the edges of the bowl with frozen tubes of beef and chicken. Like a tubular meat array creating a frozen bowl extension. Put some more meat on the bottom of the bowl to support the beef array. Then fill the rest of the barf bowl with a bunch of vegetables. And don't forget to pack the food down with your bare hands. This way you'll get your monies worth $$. This place was very busy and doing a good job of keeping the food stocked during the Black Friday weekend rush. They were friendly and kept a smile on their faces the entire time.
