The station where they make your food.
    Michelle F.

This is my go to place for Mongolian! So good!! I'm always greeted when I enter and then taken to a table. The staff is very friendly and always aware when your drink is getting low & brings another without asking. On the tables it reads you have to ask for rice but they also give bread. All pretty good comes pipping hot. The place itself is a decent size has a few T.V's and a busy street view. When you're all done eating they will bring you the bill. The station has gloves to put on so you don't have to touch the bowls your food goes in & utensils with bare hands to pick up the items you want in your bowl, it does help to stop spreading germs and such. There are plenty of items to make a plate this time I saw shrimp and that was a new item to me. I even ask for my broccoli to go a little longer to make it soft and they do. I always give a tip when I'm done because they work non-stop it does get busy. Overall I love it and I keep coming back!

Atmosphere: Clean, inviting, spacious. Staff: Very friendly and quick. They kept re-filling our water and brought out rice lickity-split. Food: This buffet is awesome. You can be super-healthy, not-so-healthy, or go bodybuilder style. For example, you can do some chicken and all veggies (like I did on my second helping) and feel great about your life choices. I saw a guy with two bowls of meat only and I asked him if he was a bodybuilder. My first plate was noodles and veggies with chicken and it was awesome. Price: didn't break the bank and was well worth the cost. I went to the buffet twice and didn't feel like I was cheated at all, very fair pricing. I will be back.

The food was alright but wasn't that flavorful, even with the variety of oils/waters available. My big complaint was the cost. I was there at lunchtime on Saturday and was charged for dinner. When I asked, the woman said on weekends they didn't have lunch prices, though it didn't say that on the menu. Then there was a tip jar by the grill that said they don't split tips between the seaters and cooks. With an iced tea, my total was a little over $34 f or just me.

Nice sit down All You Can Eat Mongolian BBQ. Everything is always clean, and the service is prompt. There is a lot to choose from even if you don't eat meat!

The Baseline: For Mongolian BBQ restaurant the grill meats must be quality, the buffet item table set up must be functional, and the chefs must cook the food well. Food: I love Mongolian BBQ and the only thing that would make it better is if they were cooking on a shield. Big ok is a big food and big flavor establishment with a great selection of meats and veg that will go great with the pile of noodles you give the chefs to cook. Pour on the garlic and ginger water to make your pile of tasty selection marry each other in flavor. It is all you can eat and worth the price point to eat here. Service: Great service and water refills were made several times. Ambiance: Busy at an All-you-can-eat level. The chef put on a show for cooking your buffet selections and it is a fun experience to watch you meal get cooked on the massive cooking flat-top grill.

This is an OG spot of mine. I love BBQ in general but something about Mongolian BBQ hits different! My usual order consisted of noodles, chicken, veggies, and topped with sesame seeds. I went around 6pm on a Monday and it wasn't crowded surprisingly. It's always a vibe and the workers are very fast paced and friendly. I love coming here to have dinner.

Food is great, people is very friendly and fast service. Love this place! Using plastic gloves to choose food is ok , but it's more trash to our planet. Wouldn't be better hand sanitizer hands? Just an opinion here. Love their orchids!!

B picked Big Wok Mongolian BBQ as a midpoint between the 3 of us, & Winnie said it was AYCE, which was a good thing because I got our dinner date mixed up & didn't really eat lunch beforehand. BWMBBQ is located in Manhattan Beach, off busy Sepulveda Blvd. & 10th St. I was apprehensive driving through residential streets directed by navigation, thinking that there's a restaurant here until I saw the moniker's bright lights. A moderate sized parking lot is shared with 2 other restaurants out back. There's no front entry off Sepulveda Blvd. so you enter from the parking lot. Process: The diner selects from a buffet of proteins (chicken, pork, beef, lamb, shrimp, tofu; meats are frozen) & fresh veggies (onions, mushrooms, shredded carrots, spinach, bell peppers, zucchini, broccoli, cabbage, bamboo shoots, tomatoes, green onions, baby corn, corn, cilantro, water chestnuts, celery, bean sprouts), & of course, noodles. There's a sauce station to season your bowl(s): House Special, Spicy Sauce, Ginger Water, Dragon Hot Sauce, BBQ Oil, Teriyaki Sauce, Curry, Garlic Water, Lemon Water, Serrano Chili Hot Sauce (with a 3 sauce menu suggestion); along with condiment jars at the end: vinegar, minced garlic, red pepper flakes. There's bowls on the left with disposable gloves (kinda wasteful) to mashed down the ingredients, just get an extra bowl & don't overfill. Our plates were pretty loaded so we didn't ask for rice even though it's included with the rice. My 1st round was chicken, tofu, spinach, onions, bell peppers, broccoli, green onions, bean sprouts, & noodles; sauces: 2 House Special, 2 Spicy Sauce, 1 Garlic Water, 1/2 Ginger Water, 3 Dragon Hot Sauce. I was surprised at how much food I had even after cooking down the chicken & spinach. The grill was clean so I kept my intended flavors. I love their fresh, hot shaobing (燒餅)... flaky, nutty aromatics, & soft. It seems kinda hollow, so I bit along the length edge to create a pocket & stuffed it with chicken & veggies. Damn... it made for a great mini burrito! But I didn't want to fill myself on carbs, & not be able to finish my plate. I eventually clean it & went back for a refill with less noods, more tofu & veggies in 1 bowl. I was so stuffed after grazing about an hour! I needed a walk (I did) to get rid of my food baby. I also had GERD driving back (yikes!) & took a pause to purge for relief. Whew! To think I wished they had dessert (ice cream macarons or pudding) like in their olden days, but then I would have kept to 1 plate. Like most AYCE restaurants, food must be consumed on premises & no boxes will be provided for leftovers. What's different was that we were not charged for my pregnant friend's leftovers, which was nice. Not sure if they have a policy to charge for food waste, though it would have been nice if my friend could box her plate instead of wasting it; it looked like there was a full serving left. Decent price point for AYCE with select options, & how much can you really eat? Price point is a bit high for the kiddos, at mine wouldn't be able to even eat close to that value. Service was friendly but not readily available; need water & shaobing refills. There's a separate tip jar for the cooks, so the receipt tip likely goes to the servers & possibly back kitchen. Big Wok Mongolian BBQ was even mentioned in Eater LA (09/2023) as possibly the last remaining Mongolian BBQ buffets in S. CA. They're not; there's Mongol King (Torrance), Caesar's Mongolian Bar-B-Q (Cerritos), Genghis Khan Mongolian BBQ (Westminster) just to name a few. BTW, did you know Mongolian BBQ (蒙古烤肉) is a Taiwanese novel dining creation inspired by Japanese teppanyaki & Chinese Beijing-style BBQ, & marketed by comedian Wu ZhaoNan? He couldn't call it "Peking BBQ" after his hometown due to political sensitivity & ended up with "Mongolian BBQ," though the restaurant does have their version of its history. Would I come back? Maybe. If I do, I have a plan to minimize the noods & stuffed the shaobings instead. Nom, nom, nom!

Every time I come in here I get better and better at making my bowl bomb! Recently I've only had to go from here and I'm hyped that it's still warm by the time I come home. It's hard to take the whole plate down cause I always end up with 1 plus pound of food so I make two meals out of them. Pro tip: add sauce generously for the best flavor.

Big Wok Mongolian BBQ is such a great spot! The food is fresh, flavorful, and you can customize everything just the way you like it. Portions are generous and the pricing is very affordable, especially for the quality and variety you get. Free parking is a huge plus and makes it super convenient to stop by. The staff is friendly and the overall experience is always satisfying. Definitely a go-to place when you're craving Mongolian BBQ!

Big Wok is a solid choice for Mongolian BBQ. I appreciated the quality of the ingredients and the variety in offerings. You make your way down the line and fill your bowl with as many meats, veggies and noodles as you desire, then finish it off with one of their plentiful sauce options. They suggest 1-2 scoops per bowl but I would go with around 6. Meat options are chicken, beef, pork and lamb. If you go during prime time the grill may be a little backed up but the cooks are working as quickly as they can over that hot grill and you shouldn't be waiting too long. Bring some dollar bills to tip them. We enjoyed the sesame bread provided at the table and washed it all down with a crisp beer. Come hungry to take full advantage of the AYCE.

In a small shopping center there is parking in the back of this establishment which is also where you enter. It's an all you can eat Mongolian bbq spot with lots of options for your plates. We loved it. The Staff from the grill to cashier / server were all very welcoming and friendly. Tip the cooks separately from the server / cashier, fyi. We were first time visitors but saw others who had a system down. We ended up getting 2 servings each as we'd gone during lunch it was only $22 a person and wr were stuffed for the rest of the day. We will definitely be back in the future.

ive always tried places next to this restaurant and the amazing smell coming from big wok is what lured us in!! we came during lunch on a thursday around 11:15 am and there was a lot of space and seating. when you come in, they get you seated and you grab bowls (you can grab more than one at a time) to fill in with the food. then you wait in line around the chef's area and you can watch them stir fry the food you got. a lot of my coworkers filled one bowl with meat/toppings and the other with noodles, since the raw meat rolls take up a lot of space. my biggest advice is to put a LOT OF SAUCE. i put around 3 spoons of house sauce, and 2 of the spicy sauce but didn't really taste any of it so it came out a bit bland. when i came back for seconds, i doubled what i did plus a little more to make sure i could taste the flavor, and it tasted soooo much better - too bad i was already so full. for lunch it was about $20 per person for all you can eat! they don't let you bring any leftovers home (sadly) so it's definitely worth it if you have a big appetite. my coworkers packed on a ton of meat and you can definitely get your money's worth from this place if you can eat a ton in one sitting. the servers are very sweet and i'm glad that we got to try this place since i was craving mongolian bbq.

The first thing I noticed about Manhattan Beach Post was the plants. Not because there were a few…read moreplants. Lots of restaurants have a few plants. These plants appeared to have union representation. They're everywhere. Hanging from things. Growing out of things. Quietly observing your meal. The whole place feels like someone built a really nice restaurant and then let nature move in as a long term tenant. The room hums. Not loudly. Not aggressively. Just enough. Glasses clink. People lean into conversations. Servers weave through the room carrying plates that look heavy enough to alter their center of gravity. Nobody seems rushed. Everybody seems busy. It's a difficult balance. The biscuits arrived first. Now, I'd heard about the biscuits. People talk about these biscuits the way fishermen talk about the one that got away. Slightly dramatic. A little emotional. Hard to verify. Turns out the stories were true. Warm bacon cheddar biscuits with maple butter. I took one bite and immediately understood why people order a second round. The outside has just enough structure to remind you it's baked. The inside is soft enough to make you wonder whether butter has secretly become a building material. We ordered another. Not because we needed another. Because apparently that's what happens here. The creamy polenta showed up next and felt like the culinary equivalent of a weighted blanket. Comforting. Smooth. Relaxed. The sort of dish that encourages you to slow down and stop checking your phone. The duck was one of my favorites. Lightly fried with crisp skin and tender meat, resting on white Italian beans and rosemary. It felt like something a French chef would cook after spending a weekend in the countryside and becoming briefly inspired by fresh air. At some point you stop evaluating food and simply nod in agreement with it. This was one of those moments. Dessert was equally dangerous. The olive oil cake arrived with strawberries and disappeared much faster than logic suggested it should. The cheesecake somehow managed to be rich and light at the same time, which feels like it should violate a law of physics somewhere. Service deserves its own mention. The whole team operates like a group project where everyone actually did their part. Plates appeared when they should. Water glasses mysteriously refilled themselves. Questions were answered without anyone making you feel like you should already know the answer. The chef's French influence shows up everywhere, but not in a showy way. Nothing feels complicated for the sake of being complicated. Everything feels like somebody spent a lot of time thinking about it so you wouldn't have to. By the end of the meal, I realized Manhattan Beach Post had done something difficult. It felt special without feeling serious. You can dress up. You can come casually. You can celebrate something important or absolutely nothing at all. Just order the biscuits. The plants already know you're going to.

Some dishes could've been executed better. Going down the list of dishes I had here: - Bacon Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits: These were more like scones rather than biscuits. Crunchy with good bacon and cheddar flavor. - Japanese Hamachi Crudo: Unique and I liked the citrusy flavor and creamy texture. However, 3 small slices of fish for $26 was overpriced. - Leafy Greens & Radicchio: Solid and crispy salad with a nice tangy dressing. The cheese also added a lot of sharp flavor which was nice. - Skirt Steak: Good flavor and char, but a bit tough. Also some dry pieces. - Chilean Sea Bass: Lemon orzo risotto was creamy and delicious. The sea bass itself was okay, nothing special. It felt overpowered by the risotto. The fish was moist and flaky though. - 20 Oz Prime Beef Ribeye: Quality was subpar relative to price. Portion size was solid by the steak itself was inconsistent. Some of the pieces were rarer while others were more well-done even though we asked for medium rare. There were also some dry pieces which I did not like. Flavor was good though. - Strawberry and Olive Oil Cake: Was confused since there was just a thin layer of cake, but realized the title also referred to the mousse. I would title it 'Strawberry Mousse with Olive Oil Cake" to make it less confusing. Regardless, this was a delicious dessert! Love the fruity strawberry and savory pistachio flavors as well as the smooth textures. - S'mores sundae: Got this on the house for my aunt's birthday. A generous portion but the components were a bit too sweet for my liking. I visited this restaurant for a birthday that I organized and my experience was overall good. Reservation was made easy using OpenTable and I could also mention it was for a birthday occasion. The ambiance was gorgeous with good mood lighting. Good for group and 1 on 1 dining. Parking is metered or street parking. Overall, I probably wouldn't come out of my way to dine here again, but my experience wasn't bad just not significant enough to put in my rotation. Would come back if someone treated me here though.

Every round that hit the table was a "pass it around, everybody try this" moment. The kind of happy hour where you're not just snacking -- you're accidentally having a full-on dinner because you can't stop ordering "one more thing." Food: Legit. Everything we tried was solid, but the wings were the standout for me -- the kind you keep reaching for even when you tell yourself you're good. Great flavor, cooked right, and they held their own against any wing spot that claims they're "known for wings." Whatever they're doing back there, keep doing that. Service / experience: This is where they really won. Trent was our guy tonight and I can't say enough about him. Manager supreme is the right title -- he wasn't just checking boxes, he was running the whole experience. He served, suggested, kept the pacing perfect, and made it feel effortless while still being locked in the entire time. You can tell when someone actually cares that your night is going well, and Trent is that dude. Major asset to this business and the kind of manager that turns first-time visits into "we're coming back next week." Atmosphere was exactly what you want for Manhattan Beach happy hour: lively, comfortable, easy to settle in, and perfect for a group. We came to try the menu and ended up staying for the vibe. Only complaint -- and it's not even on them, it's on the "beach cities trying to save the world one soggy sip at a time" vibe -- the paper straws. I swear those things last 11 minutes before they turn into a wet napkin. Let me live, Rockerfellas Bottom line: If you want a happy hour that actually delivers, Rockerfellas is it. Bring friends, come hungry, and if you get Trent taking care of you? You're in elite hands. We'll be back.

If I can tack on a 1/2 star or 1/2 point above, I would. And the only reason WHY I am not giving a…read morefull 5-star rating is because of The Rockefeller's cockamamie rule of "yes, we're dog friendly" but "you can't have your dog or your party block the sidewalk" and "we're not allowed to have the chairs out to here (indicating a particular distance on the sidewalk)", etcetera, etcetera. GIve me a break. JUST SAY that The Rockefeller isn't dog-friendly and be done with it, ok? By the way, this incident WAS on Mother's Day 2026, so the staff was particularly overwhelmed. . . so there's that timing. On a previous time my husband and I had brunch here about 4-5 months ago, we DID take our little doggie without any issue. So the staff either has to get their stories straight for next time or just say that The Rockefeller IS dog-friendly, BUT ONLY for a two- or one-person party. Other than that, The Rockefeller's Chilaquiles are phenomenal. It was flavorful and filling. Also, the Bacon & Eggs (two eggs, any style) -- which I had my eggs over-easy -- were outstanding. Bottom-line: Don't bring your dog. It's just too complicated for The Rockefeller to handle. Leave your dog at home.

Our server, Raquel, was lovely and on top of things. I had what I think is the best Mai Tai I've ever had, even while in Hawaii! Just delicious. We enjoyed the fried asparagus and bacon deviled eggs as our appetizer. The buttermilk fried chicken, crispy chicken sandwich and the ribeye melt were really good, but I am STILL thinking about how incredible Cha Cha's Spicy Rigatoni was. So incredibly creamy, and full of flavor, with just the right amount of heat. My daughter orders this every time it's on a menu, and this is by far the best I've ever tasted. SO good. We had mentioned we were celebrating our twins' birthday, and they were served two lovely pieces of chocolate cake with a candle, AND a card for each of them signed by the staff. Never have I experienced that before for a birthday in a restaurant! Just a great touch. I am SO glad my daughter suggested we go here, and every time we're in town we will return. Cannot recommend it enough!!!!
