I love this place! It's reasonably priced a really good! I prefer Al Hamra more, but this food is good. The basic Kobideh is filling and tasty! I stay away from the non Mediterranean items. Meats that have been sitting in steam table trays for hours should come with disclaimers. I don't hold it against them. You can place an order, go shopping and generally, your order be done at the conclusion of shopping. So, I have a new rating system......I will be write what I feel honestly about an establishment. Market Grill is located inside of Jon's Market. There is plenty of parking. As you enter Jon's Market, Market Grill is to the left. There are a couple of tables and chairs for a quick meal. Our go to meal is MMP 1 which includes: 1 Whole smoked chicken 1 Large basmati rice 1 Medium salad shirazi (cucumber, tomato, onion salad) The chicken, we will request it to be cut in 8 pieces and to provide bbq sauce and salad dressing on the shirazi. I've been to Market Grill once before but somehow only noticed the American BBQ part. The other day I was yelping Mediterranean food and had to do a double take when it listed Market Grill at the very top. Conveniently located inside Jon's Market, there is a big parking lot but just be aware of people driving in the wrong direction. *SMH* Market Grill is Just to the left when you first enter. You won't miss it as all the wonderful aromas come wafting towards you. There is quite a selection and you can order your kebabs at the same time as your baby back ribs. I ordered #3 which comes with chicken kebab and a beef kebab along with basmati rice, a green pepper and a tomato as well as a small cup of refreshing cucumber salad. We also ordered the baby back ribs with two sides. There are plenty of choices for sides. We chose the potato wedges which I didn't care for because they were too crunchy and the veggies. The portions for both orders are huge and it took us two days to finish them. The meats were cooked perfectly and were so flavorful. You can order by phone but I only had a 10 minute wait on a Saturday night. You can opt to shop in the market while you wait for the order or sit at one of the tables. Okay boys and girls, don't waste your money at Chicken Maison or similar spots that give you miniscule chicken pieces on the shishkabob orders. If you truly want the best kabob for your money, come here and enjoy a delicious and Houmongus chunks of chicken kabob. The dish is made to order and the chicken it's absolutely juicy, tender and flavourful. The order comes with a generous portion of basmati rice, a huge tomato and pepper plus a side cucumber salad. I've been here before and other dishes such as the tri-tip, the chicken, the chicken skewers, the lentil soup, the potatoes have all been amazing. One order is sufficient for two people at a minuscule price. This grill is inside Jon's Market. It definitely does not disappoint. I was here for the bbq two days in a row!! The bbq is soooooo good and compared to other establishments you can't beat MG prices! I loved the ribs, smoked chicken and sausages. Just like everything at Jon's, the quality is excellent and there's something for everyone at Market Grill. You can take out or order at the counter and dine-in. I usually order and then shop a little before picking up my order. Of course, I ordered the Chicken Koobideh. It came with, interestingly enough, a large corn muffin plus a delish cucumber condiment salad. Yum! I haven't explored the b.b.q. side besides their chicken but everything to the left side is delicious! The picture shows a drink with their combo but they don't have drinks, ever. Located inside Jon's Marketplace on 190th street in Torrance is Market Grill. Market Grill offers both Mediterranean cuisine and American cuisine. On the Mediterranean side one can get a variety of kabobs, lentil soup and basmati rice. One of my favorites is getting the Mixed Koobideh with Cali Rice and Dill and Fava Bean Rice. I love their different basmati rice. Typically combos just come with plain basmati rice but you can pay an extra $3 and get the special basmati rice that has veggies or other topings. The extra $3 is a tad pricey but the special basmati rice such as the Dill and Fava Bean rice is so good. It is a meal in itself. The American side is called the Smokehouse and they offer different bbq such as tritip, bbq ribs and sausage. The meat is so tender. You can pair the meats with a variety of sides such as creamed spinach and potato wedges. Prices range from $8.99 lunch specials to mixed plates for $16.99. The prices are fairly good and you get a ton of food. They also offer specials of the week which can be found in their weekly ads. I love getting lunch here after grocery shopping at Jon's because the food is fair in price and great in taste. read more

So good! Who would've guessed that a grocery store deli style Mediterranean/Smoked BBQ meats place would be so good? I don't have pics of our food cuz we ate it so quick! Was looking for some Mediterranean food around where I was driving and came across the yelp reviews here. Granted there aren't a lot but they are all high. I decided to give it a shot and we ordered the beef koubideh plate, the chicken koubideh lunch special (a good deal) and the chicken kebab plate. Everything was deeeelish! I also ordered 2 lbs of their smoked baby back ribs and 1 lb of smoked tri-tip (sold by the pound or as dinner combos with sides) to bring home for dinner. The meats were really well done! Even after reheating they were tender and the flavor was such smoky goodness. Their bbq sauce tasted homemade it I really liked it--it wasn't too tangy or too salty. So many grocery stores are competing in the take out meal category these days. Jon's has an excellent entry in this category with their Market Grill. I was in for supper and I went for the BBQ section as the 'Greek' food looked a little tired. I went for the 6 oz tri tip. It wasn't tender but it wasn't chewy. Not a lot of flavour to it so thank goodness for the BBQ sauce you can get. It both 'softens' up the beef and adds some much needed flavour. The potato wedges were crunchy and tasty, even late in the day. I was hoping for one of their salad sides but they were out so I had to settle on the baked beans. They were okay, nothing special Glad I tried but I would not go out of my way to try it again. read more

We have been ordering food here for a long time - when it was just the Smokehouse section. Now that there is a Mediterranean and an American food section, picking up food for all members of my family has been easier! For the bbq, we love the tri-tip and smoked chicken. The pink ring from the smoking is present and the meat taste delicious. There are no toughness or fatty pieces. The chicken is good that it is completely smoked and tender. Breast meat is not dry at all and the dark meat is super moist. On the Mediterranean side the koobideh (beef and chicken) are full of flavors, portion is good too. The sides are great too. We enjoy the mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. Basmati is fluffy and Shirazi (tomato/cucumber) salad is refreshing. I don't recall any of the other sides we've tried were bad at all. They're all good and flavorful. Main entree portions aren't small but a little bit on the generous side. The service is always friendly quick and efficient. The workers are really nice & helpful too. We have ordered at the counter and over the phone. The wait is never too long. If it is, at least you can place your order and do some grocery shopping while your order is prepared. read more

The manager, Brian, was extremely helpful in creating a personalized menu and making sure we had enough food and variety without over doing it!
