Wonderful dining experience. After many hours of traveling, we appreciated finding this old favorite restaurant in Columbia. Located with easy access the highway and plenty of parking, it made for a welcome break from the usual fast food places near the interstate. The side Cesar was delicious. The coconut shrimp were a good selection. The building was cool on a very warm day. I ordered, on DoorDash, the Signature Seafood Mushrooms, and the Lobster Shrimp and Salmon from Red Lobster in Columbia, MO. The mushrooms were watery. Our meals were substandard compared to a year ago. we ordered a Bud Light and it tasted like it had lemon soap in it. The food was ok. Not up to normal Red Lobster standards. They were out of what I came in for, so they thought that fudging it would work. It didn't. But the worst thing was the service. Including ours, there were 3 tables to wait on. But everything took forever. It started to become apparent that none of the wait staff cares about people. It's not cooking taking forever. A refill took almost 10 minutes. And by the time the refill came, half the ice had melted and turned the soda into nothing more than flat, dirty water. It was disgusting. I was traveling in the area for work and decided to stop by to try the new lobster and shrimp tacos as they were being advertised. I went in the evening on a week day and it wasn't too busy. I love the decor inside, it's definitely aesthetically pleasing! Probably the best looking Red Lobster I've eaten at! I received three lobster and shrimp tacos in an order. The tacos did not come with a side. As a result, I ordered a side of well-done fries (only way to order fries). The tacos were not flavorful at all and I could not taste the lobster! Walked in for a early dinner on Saturday to see 4-people trying to figure out the front hostess computer. Not one person greeted us, did not look at us nor pay any attention for about 3-5 minutes. Would have walked out and should have but my 89 year old father had gift certificates to use up. Upon waiting to be seated, I noticed how dirty the sanitizer stations were extremely dirty and had visible dirt in the tray. The computer station in the front was dusty and also had visible filth. Again, wanted to walk out. But dad really wanted his favorite Coconut Shrimp, so we waited. Only 5* great review was for Amanda our server! She made our terrible dining/food experience fabulous! We ordered 2-shrimp skewers meals that came with rice pilaf that was undercooked and flavorless. The shrimp was slightly undercooked and did not taste good, no flavor. Only edible item on my plate was the baked potato which was over cooked but the sour cream, cheese, bacon and chives were an added bonus. Dad's Coconut Shrimp was over cooked and too toasted. The shrimp was dry. We will not return as this place needs a conplete detailed cleaning and customer service training! The inside of the restaurant was nice but there was a very nasty odor! It smelled like cold dirty dishwater or mop water. I thought it was just me but my wife smelled it too. Staff was nice but I saw the bartender come from behind the bar. He was coughing and hacking and coughed something in his hand. The guy looked at it and wiped it in his apron. We couldn't eat our food there. We took the food "to go" and drove 100 miles home. When we got there we were thinking that the food was going to bad bc we had to reheat it, but, to our surprise it was still really good but my wife's order of fish and chips only had one piece of fish in it. Columbia, MO Restaurant 1. On 07/08/22 we called ahead to be on the "wait list," and when we arrived at approximately 5:30 pm there were 2 people waiting, and very few people already seated. The host told us it would be about a 5 minute wait. We waited 25 minutes before being seated. We waited just a few minutes to order drinks and appetizers. The drinks, 3 teas 1 beer, 2 sprites, took another 20 minutes to come out. The appetizers, calamari and fried green beans, didn't come for another 10 minutes after the drinks. (6:25pm) We ordered our main courses when the appetizers arrived. 2 kids chicken strips and fries, 2 coconut shrimp plates(each 1 w/brussel sprouts and 1 w/lobster mashed potatoes and 1 w/a salad and lobster mashed potatoes), 1 create your own pick 3 w/coconut shrimp, Walt's shrimp, and shrimp scampi(w/a salad and lobster mashed potatoes), and a salmon New Orleans (w/an extra skewer of shrimp, brussel sprouts, and lobster mashed potatoes). 2. The 2 salads came after approximately 20 minutes. (6:45pm) Approximately 55 minutes after we ordered the food started coming to the table in spurts, and none of it by our server. (7:20pm) 3. The brussel sprouts on all three plates were not cooked through. They were blackened on the outside and very much raw on the inside. 4. The shrimp on all of the plates was luke warm to cool. The butter in the shrimp scampi was either not melted or was already hardening. 5. The extra skewer of shrimp didn't come to the table until the bill was being paid. The bill was printed at 1937(7:37pm). 6. A person (presumably a manager) came to the table to hear what we had to say about the food. He told us the situation was "unacceptable" and he would adjust our bill to make up for the issues. When our bill came it showed a $5.99 item comped to bring the bill all the way down to $168.13. I've got to tell you that $5.99 really made a huge difference in our experience. (If you're not sure, that was dripping with sarcasm.) 7. On our way out the door I noticed our waitress was working at the carry out counter. That might explain why she was scarce in the area of our table. Overall this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had, if not the worst. I'm sure others have experienced worse, like bugs or vermin in the restaurant, or in the food, so I guess I should count myself lucky. Over 2 hours to get a substandard meal with substandard service at a premium price. Needless to say this was our last visit to Columbia, MO's Red Lobster restaurant. Only reviewing this because my 12 year old adores Red Lobster. Honestly if you are not on a coast and want some seafood you can't go wrong with Red Lobster. They have pretty strict standards so you are mostly guaranteed to get decent sea food. No, it's not the amazing taste carnival you will find at a mom and pop dive on Cape Cod but it is still good and reliable. At this location we have always had good service. The restaurant has always been clean and it is certainly family friendly. Like every Red Lobster I've been to they are suitable for date night (but if my husband brought me here for a date I might swing on him), large parties, business meetings etc. Don't be a seafood snob. Not anymore: the quality of the food has gone down, the portions are smaller and the prices gone up. Not worth it. My Cesar salad was inedible, looked stale, minimum of cheese (did not taste like Parmesan) and A LOT OF croutons. It took them half an hour to bring my salmon. It was cooked right, but was barely warm. And again, the size matters. RL has become very stingy !!! The waitress was acting supercilious and pretentious. I did not feel welcome here. We have been to this location many, many times. Have always had exceptional food and service. Things have changed a bit. No spoons to stir coffee with any longer. Put card in folder with check. Was told we pay at the table now. Waitress went ahead and entered it into the machine at the table for us, and left it at the point where we enter tip amount. Touched pad for tip amount. Nothing happens. The waitress finally comes back and says she will go to the register and run it. So my question is, if we are expected to complete the transaction at our table, are we still expected to tip 20%? Seems like if we don't get the service we use to get, the tip should reflect this. I sent a review directly to corporate letting them know how filthy the relatively new Columbia location is, they sent an email saying they were sorry for my unhappy experience, I would rather they tell me they will send a corp head to see for themselves. On top of the fact we had to sit and look at all the grime and filth everywhere the service was poor, the server sat on the table next to ours taking the order as if he couldn't stand up for 7 minuets straigh, so unprofessional and rather lazy. As a child, my only birthday present I wanted was a trip here with my mother. I always got it, and I always loved it. I would end up working here for a while as well. I enjoyed my co-workers and I enjoyed the fact it's still my favorite place to dine. This store was always clean, always fresh and always consistant. After 8+ years of employment, and stuffing myself with all the fish and lobster and crab I could eat, I have seince become allergic to shellfish, I guess Red Lobster's way of saying I should have never left, even though the store I worked at in LA closed, I think it happened to remind me of what I had, and what I left behind.... The bacon-wrapped scallops are the best. Dip the biscuits in ranch dressing and enjoy! read more

I don't know what's wrong with me. Everytime I come to Red Lobster I always leave so disappointed you'd think I'd learn.. I was stuck here on business and had to limit of pretty much three restaurants to choose from. First night I came to Red Lobster sat at the bar and was ignored by the bartender for about 20 minutes because I don't drink I just wanted to order dinner. I left for an Italian restaurant across the street .. Came back the next night because my choices as I said we're Limited. I had to wait 25 minutes and the place was empty. Still can't figure that out. Ordered the Admiral's Feast. I asked for a broiled which they accommodated even though the first night I was there I asked the waitress and she said there's no way they can do it but miraculously there was no problem one day later? The portions were puny and small. The scallops look like eraser heads. the white fish, well judge for yourself I put my finger in the shot so you can see how tiny they were. And they want 20 something dollars for this? I think this time I may be done with Red Lobster for good. I don't mind cutting corners but please don't shortchange paying customers and serve them scraps. read more

This might best be described as Ghetto Lobsta! Seeing it is between a car lot and a shady roadside motel. We were seated in a booth with ripped vinyl seats. Food was mediocrity at its very best. The only thing that kept this place from getting one star was the five star server who tried her best to make it different. The snow crab legs were the most pathetic, spindly looking things I have ever seen and the only thing worse was the shrimp scampi which gave a whole new meaning to shrimp. My husband and I love seafood but our last two visits have guaranteed that we won't eat here again! The first occasion we received side plates with chocolate cake smashed on the bottom and on our drink cup as well as other food stuck on the cups, multiple times. Really turns you off of eating. The server apologized and the manager provided a 20% discount after admitting he had no idea what was happening in the kitchen/was glad to come out to talk to us to leave the kitchen. Service was slow as well! Our most recent visit last week featured food that was well overcooked and we waited more than 40 minutes for our food! The server was missing most of the time and more than 3 times was to return with refills, soup, biscuits and forgot. We didn't even bother to speak with the manager as we had waited forever for our check and were ready to leave. Really unfortunate to see this place going downhill as we love Red Lobster. read more

Family and I were traveling thru, haven't eaten real food all day. We got here pretty late, 9:30pm, they close at 10:00pm. The hostess was very polite, greeted us with a smile. When we ordered it was about 9:40pm, got our food at 10:00pm. The food was great, fresh and tasty, the biscuits were delicious. The waitress was excellent, she took good care of us. When we got done it was 10:30, server told us not to rush, she had lots of cleaning and closing to do anyways and to enjoy our food. Always liked Red Lobster but will never return again. Went there on 9.3.16 for my birthday and had a Crab Fest meal which had a fest in my gut for the following 3 days.
